Wow!! This bug is quite annoying but thank goodness it wasn't just me. I experience this bug every now and then when I play the game but I thought it may have just been my problem so I never really spoke up about it.
You see that because the weather, generally a pattern, isn’t set up correctly by the scenario creator and is conflicting somehow. Whenever I’ve seen that I’ve gone in to the editor and set the weather pattern up properly and it disappears.
This is an instant buy the moment it's released for me. This, along with all the other mods I use will genuinely make TSC look better than track side walker. I think it can look better already, but this is awesome. Now all we need is to get rid of the zombies.
As far as I am aware It is a known issue with the weather pack. I know damn well when I set up AP weather that I've set it up correctly yet the dome still appears and always has done. so I'm perplexed as to what exactly the fix is?
Armstrong Powerhouse will be updating the Adaptive Bloom feature in the upcoming Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0!
Just keeps getting better. Although as it will be a shader setting I currently use RWE2 and this will conflict so hopefully you can set if you want the ap one on or off as RWE2 just makes the sim look stunning I don’t want to loose that
A bit disappointing that the fog and bloom settings will conflict with RWE. Still... it's the enhanced cloud patterns that really sell this for me more than anything else.
Sorry guys but I'm not sure I 100% understand the shader conflicting stuff. So is the AP Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 going to act as a shader pack of sorts as well or only just for the adaptive bloom feature?
The fog effect will be a shader, so yes, it will either override RWE, or conflict with it. How bad, or exactly what will happen remains to be seen I suppose.
That shouldn't be a problem right? If I remember correctly you can disable RW Enhancer's fog shaders in the settings for RWE.
After looking around a bit, I realised that most RWE shaders are tied to the Adaptive Bloom feature so I hope Armstrong Powerhouse does their idea of making the Adaptive Bloom shaders optional.
Here's some additional information on the conflict of RWE and the new Weather Enhancement Pack. I'm honestly not so sure what to do about it myself with the direction of the conflict between RWE and AP is going. Potential options is not using the adaptive bloom that AP provides, but disable RWE's fog shaders to get the best of both worlds possibly? I often edit most routes from other countries to also use the AP Weather Enhancement Pack so I guess not having RWE won't be so bad either with the new weather pack? But this is all speculation for me at the moment. We will just have to see what it looks like on release.
That's my Facebook post LOL... This is the first time I have been alerted to one of my own Facebook posts via the TS forums LOL
Looks like release is imminent. I think large parts of tomorrow will be spent on the AP website pressing F5
I'm not gonna lie. If it performs well on an average PC already capable of running the game, those weather effects are going to be of interest to many users. I still don't see them being something that breaks a scenario (which is good), as another weather setting will be used by default instead, but it might be hard even for me to turn this down when I'm ready to apply the weather to various routes I've already played to show them off that way. (For the record, I own the original weather EP. I just haven't installed it yet.)
A weather pack is NEVER going to break a scenario all it does is default the scenario to clear blue skys if the person using the scenario does not have the weather pack installed, It has no impact on the running of a scenario.
Honestly, just imagine some of the 50s and 60s routes and the steamers against this backdrop. Might be as close as you can get to the real thing (with only close examination possibly giving away the fact that it's a game - that and camera quality back then ).
Armstrong Powerhouse released a small teaser video featuring a British Rail Class 37 driving by with the new sky and lighting. I must say it looks quite lovely.
ima be honest here i honestly dont notice any difference from the current version in this video which is a shame as i am really looking forward to this pack. I also notice there is slight buffering when the 37 is moving i hope that is just the recording software and not because of the pack. Still looking forward to seeing more of this HOWEVER the big deciding factor for me is if it is comptatable with RWE2 as i am not removing that now i am so used to it
From what Armstrong Powerhouse has said luckily I think it will be RWE2 compatible (to some extent). As discussed earlier it looks like they're trying to implement a feature where you can download the enhancement pack without the new adaptive bloom shaders which would otherwise override RWE's shaders since most of their shaders are linked to the adaptive bloom setting in game. The only thing you would have to compensate for if you don't install the Adaptive Bloom shaders with the new enhancement pack is probably having to turn off RWE's fog shaders since Armstrong Powerhouse mentioned there would not be much of a point to add an option not to install the fog shaders since they are a very big part of the pack. I think the main appeal for this pack probably will not be the default daylight skies, but instead the overcast, rain, evenings etc. As seen in previous posts from them with additions such as a mist clearing and the sun peeks through as the sky clears up looks absolutely amazing as well as other various photos posted such as a wonderful evening photo. However I can see people enjoying the new default day time skies too as I have heard a complaint before on the forum that the current Weather Enhancement Pack Skies look too pattern-like (if that makes sense) and the skies in that screenshot seem to be much more random and far apart which looks great!
I've just taken a closer look at the video, and the lighting actually starts to increase as the train gets closer, judging by what the post says this is possibly due to the sun coming out of the clouds? That's awesome!
In the first few seconds, the lighting goes from dull and low contrast to much brighter. I think that's really cool. Don't look at the sky... look at the ground. Also, look at ground by the train. When the video starts, it has no shadow, and slowly, as the sun comes out, the shadow appears.
You got it! It’s not about the sky….very nice effect indeed. re the 37, I don’t know why but AP’s videos always do this. I sometimes wonder what spec of PC they use do create this magic because of this! Cyclone You’ve peaked my interest here. If you own the sky pack, why on earth would you not have it installed?!! It takes seconds and is night and better than default.
I intend to show off the stock routes first. I am considering manually installing the sky pack to each route as I go so I can start featuring it.
I think a new weather pack makes a lot of commercial sense for AP. It's their one product that has universal interest to the world-wide TSC user base. What's your guess on price, £14.95 or £19.95?
i reckon that as well. No matter what the price is someone will moan about it anyway. To me the value you get out of AP products V the costs it’s nothing.
