ok it’s been a while since I had a look and nkt on pc just now. Is the WCML2 in an AP format if so unpack that then check that folder again
I copied the contents from the WCML2 ap file into that YGH folder, so they are no longer empty, but still no joy.
I just realized something else. It may also be located within the AP file located in the folder above. Make sure you have this AP file present at a bare minimum, as the files are inside here. If they are showing red, that may still work (though newer versions of LocoSwap apparently show them as green according to reports I've seen, so it might depend on your LocoSwap version). EDIT: Seems you solved it while I was trying to fix my Windows folders not loading for ten minutes. Glad you got them working! FURTHER EDIT: There was a page 2. That's what I get for being gone all day.
your very welcome what fixed it was it the unpacking of the AP file then a reinstall the extra stock ?
well looks like AP removed more sound packs from his stores, now the only ones there is class 390 and some wagons packs nothing else luckily im one of this people who buys quite a lot dlc for TS20XX so im lucky to own them but i know a lot people don't own them
It's a pitty that newcomers to TSC from now on can't enjoy driving the 92 like I have! It's more than just a sound pack. I don't see why they don't have a section for legacy/obsolete packs, charge a minimum fee & state no support provided! At least then their discontinuation would not make scenarios unplayable as there is no alternative offered.
Sad thing is when a scenario creator uses a 92 they will 99 percent of time use the sound pack version so the removal limits that
Not sure if I mentioned this earlier on in the thread but AP need a Legacy/Budget range, with older sound packs sold at a hefty discount, however not offering any sort of technical support. Similar to how SSS do their budget range. Would be awesome for those who wish to use content that calls for those sound packs. The 303 and 92 were sort of like a mini EP in that extra features and keymappings were added.
Because even if you state NO SUPPORT WILL BE GIVEN people will still e-mail with support requests clogging up the support queue. It is incredibly sad that the sound packs are now gone, especially the 52 as that really does make the Western sound like it should, however, I'm pretty sure Richard has his reasons for removing all these legacy packs. What I will say is this, it would have been nice if there had been some notice that they were going to be withdrawn so that people had achance to get them before they went.
I noticed on https://sites.google.com/view/lwreskins/reskins/network-southeast a repaint for the Wessex 442 in to NSE with other features but it requires the AP 442 Soundpack now withdrawn
Why should he sell them at a discount? That gives him no incentive. He should sell them at a premium to justify the bother of providing old, small quantity products. Maybe keep them going at £14.95 each?
Which is more than double what they sold for they sold for 6,99 why would you charge more than double.
But server costs and traffic flow do matter, just because things don't have physical mass doesn't mean there is no cost involved storing and moving them around.
Because you'd rather get rid of them, but if somebody makes it worth your while you'll keep them available. And quantity of sales does effect costs and prices for digital products. Apart from the direct costs of hosting, bandwidth, data transfer etc, you've got the overhead of supporting them; such as keeping them compatible with any changes in TSC, or newer products you produce, updating branding, or sorting out clashes with virus protection software, etc. There are a whole load of things you've got to do to maintain your back catalogue, especially if you don't want them to start looking very old and dragging down the reputation of your newer products. Small numbers of sales mean your overheads can get quite expensive per unit sold. So their price needs to go up.
TS is generally very good at not breaking compatibility. Updating what branding? If you are distributing TSC content properly you should not be attracting the attention of antivirus software.
I fortunately had all of these (except perhaps the 303, I'm not 100% sure if I had that, would have to check). However, server costs notwithstanding, I agree that it does hurt reskin compatibility. Even for packs that have EPs, I still finf scenarios using, say, the 365 Sound Pack. Sure, I can swap them, but I have half a mind to try using the default BIN and seeing if I can make it work. Issue is that some sound packs also added new features; the 319 was a good example. Sometimes, they are not compatible. One can simply change the textures and leave everything else alone, provided it's complete, but would that work by itself while copying the BIN over? Maybe with some file path editing. Otherwise, not sure.
With all the anticipation and new developments, I feel like there should be rolling coverage on Sky News!
Unlike DTG/Steam AP when they remove any of their DLC, it is also removed from your purchases. I have just found this out as I had to do a complete install of TSC2024 but before I did so I made a backup of TSC. Today I spent a couple of hours D/L my purchases from AP and noticed some items were not there particularly the AP Class 52. I went to run its scenario on the Riviera Route and it came up with the AP Class 52 missing. I have copied the AP Class 52 from my backup. Just a question do you think AP should remove what you have purchased? BTW sorry for posting in an old post.
They don’t for me. I still have access to everything I’ve ever bought whether it’s discontinued or not. I’d suggest emailing AP and asking why you can’t download it.
I have things in my download list that have been withdrawn.I have all my soundpacks. I still have the class 40. In fact, everything I've ever bought is still here for me to download. The old Pacer... everything.
I do have all of the old sound packs/stocks that were discontinued in my downloads section still. As matter of fact I did a full reinstall of TS some time back & had to install these again. Send an email to AP via support/contact us section on their website regarding this. I am sure they will help you out.
My apologies to AP if they read this I have just had another look and the Class 52 is in my AP downloads. I must have been getting a bit tired from downloading them all and missed it. I'm on a 300/100 fibre plan here in NZ and my download speeds from AP are about 5 MB a second. Downloading from Just Trains or SSS I can get around 20 MB a second. SSS uses a site called Send Owl. I'm not sure what JT uses. I have 93 of APs DLC. I have been buying from them since about when they first started which is about 13 or 14 years. BTW I needed to download most of them again as quite a few had been updated since I had last downloaded them.
