The way I see it this could be done in 2 ways, a slightly different version from what DTG do now (which is just make us pay for a couple of liveries that we should already have) or do an actual expansion.
    IDEA 1
so a better way than the DTG version of things would be Legends of the Gatwick express (not my idea I have just seen it on another post if your pfp is an EMT 158 and you said that you know who I'm talking to)
This would give us 3 new trains:
    The class 442 Wessex electrics:
This was the predecessor to the 387 on the Gatwick Express on this route, the 442 was built in the Derby Litchurch Lane works (now the place where Bombardier builds its trains) and entered service its design is based off of the MK 3 coaches used by HST's with improvements for a long distance commuter train made, it runs on 750v DC 3rd rail and has a top speed of 100mph however before it entered service it achieved the record for the fastest 3rd rail train in the world at a whopping 109mph (175 km/h) These trains operated with Gatwick Express from the early 2010s to 2016.
    The class 460 Juniper:
This incredibly ugly looking train was built by Alstom at Washwood Heath between 1999 and 2001 it is in the same family of trains as the 334 and 458 (Juniper's) and entered service with Gatwick Express fully in 2005. When Gatwick Express decided to extend to Brighton the 8 460s were not enough so this is when 442s were introduced to run alongside each other in 2008, then soon after in 2009 these were withdrawn and replaced fully by 442s.
    The class 73:
The class 73 Electro-Diesel Locomotive is a highly unique train as it has the capability to run on both 750v DC 3rd rail it also can run on diesel power (which it now does with Caledonian Sleeper north of Edinburgh) They entered service on freight lines in 1962 under the names E6001 and E6006 before then becoming 72/001 and 72/006 following their success some more were made with modifications most Notably the ability to run at 90mph rather than the previous 80 these Locos were designated as class 73/1s. In 1984 they Began to run on Gatwick express services from Victoria-Gatwick Airport hauling MK 2 coaches with a class 489 GLV on the end to negate the need for changing ends but it also provided the unit with extra power.
Overall I think This would be a great Expansion pack with a doable amount of trains not to mention how all of them would e unique for DTG and would probably cost somewhere between the £10 or £15 mark.
    IDEA 2
This pack would do exactly what the name suggests and Expand the route but also add 1-2 new trains for the route expansions I have 2 ideas and 1 or both could be implemented the first and shortest one annoys me the most because it would be so easy and that would be Wivelsfield-Lewes, this would connect the routes of London Commuter and East Coastway it includes 2 new stations and they would be Plumpton and Cooksbridge and lasts for about 11 miles (this branch is entirely operated by Southern). The other option would be East Croydon-London Bridge with 9 new stations which are Norwood Junction, Anerley, Penge West, Sydenham, Forest Hill, Honor Oak Park, Brockley, New Cross Gate and London bridge this line runs for about 9 miles and then for the southern services to Victoria from London Bridge or for the new section to the game it would be Streatham Common to London Bridge call at Streatham, (not common just Streatham on its own) Tulse Hill, North Dulwich, East Dulwich, Peckham Rye, Queens Road Peckham, South Bermondsey and London Bridge, this part runs for about 3 miles. (this line is operated by Thameslink, Southern and Overground with AI Southeastern Trains at London Bridge) Now for the trains.
    The class 700:
The class 700 dual voltage Multiple unit (can use 750v DC 3rd rail and 25kv AC 50Hz Overhead wires) was built by siemens as part of the Desiro City family from 2014-2018 and has a top speed of 100mph as this train is so highly requested you already know enough so I won't bore you but this should come with the 3 liveries aforementioned the Standard livery, the pride livery and the Thank You NHS livery for some nice differentiation.
    The class 455:
The southern class 455 (now out of service with southern as of May 2022) would be a great addition and would fit with the time it was set when it was made, these units were made by BREL at their Holgate Road carriage works this type of train (455/8) was the oldest to be made with production beginning in 1982 and ending in 1984 these old trains provide a bit of a visual difference next to 377s as its something old and something new.
Overall both these ideas would be great in TSW3 and I would even be happy to see both.
    FREE UPDATE
    Volumetric skies.
    new lighting update.
Iris adaptation coming out of tunnels.
377/2 basically a 377/4 with a pantograph to be used for Milton Keynes services (I imagine the cab is different and maybe a different seating arrangement) this shouldn't be too hard and that's why it's in the free update section.
GSM-R (so it's done fully and not like the 323 which isn't great but it's a step in the right direction)
working CCTV camera screens in the cabs.

I hate to say it but one of these (the 700) seems on the table now along with a LBN sky box change if the next few addons go the same way.

I know the 700 will likely get added to TSW at some point but I'd much rather see the Class 73. Would be much, much more interesting to drive!

Hopefully, with the Acela now coming to the Boston route (on of the Rush Hour routes), we might see a 700 coming. Looottt of people been asking for it and been waiting for it, it would be one of the best additions to the BML!

Then again the 700's have a MASSIVE issue - Thameslink doesn't actually own them.

Uh ohh, who does own them than? Since that was a huge issue mainly, Thameslink license for it?

As DTG confirms they are upgrading Boston sprinter. It would be possible they do the same for London commuter and maybe they could upgrade East Coast way

I have a suspicion it's Germany (so Dresden- riesa and another German freight route) will be getting the treatment especially considering the UK got a LOT of love between September and well now with MML technically but 3rd parties are a bundle chaos

Albeit I do not agree with the 460 being ugly I actually think it's cool and unique.

Legends of Gatwick Express is a superb idea with lots of potential to be a big seller. Alternatively, I think that the Class 405 5BEL Brighton Belle Pullman units should be considered, either in original form or the updated version currently being constructed. I can just imagine those luxurious interiors represented in game.

i’d literally do anything to have a 700 in the game at this point, an extension to london bridge would just be a huge bonus to me if it came with that too

It happened on TSC despite those concerns, no reason why it couldn't happen in TSW other than potentially being stuck behind a development backlog for DLCs intended for routes that they haven't gotten around to developing yet.

The Class 73, 442, 455 and 460 would be nice but being realistic here, we're very unlikely to get more than one new train for this route anytime soon unfortunately. The Class 700 above all else would be the most beneficial.

Best value for this might be bringing in the class 73 and 460 together as a bundle just like train simulator classic did.

I would prefer the 442 over the 460 but yeah the idea was that all 3 would be in a bundle

I personally would like to drive all 3. Sadly I don't think I ever got the chance to go on the Class 460. But from a few Youtube videos I found they look stunning. If only I could go back in time (Not to mess it up but to just watch them):)

never been that far south but I would enjoy something different because the 387 and 377 essentially look the same and while I don't like the look of the 460 IRL it would be cool to drive

I think a 455 add on would be a great idea. Using the 700/0 or a 700/1 would be fantastic for layers.

Also having a Br Days pack would be nice. Couple of slammers, ED and a crompton. Plus a couple of layers with 47s would be nice.

I Don't think we will be seeing the Class 460 or the GX 73 there too old for the route maybe the class 442. Would love to see 455 and 700 and a extension to london bridge

I think if we’re getting the 73, we need the 488 & 489 with it.

The Legends of GX is the better idea for variety sake, especially if it's using the existing route, similar to Diesel Legends of GWE. Plus I like the idea of driving the Juniper, Wessex, 73 & GLVs more than the modern stock. The old GX branding rocks!

Spot on and for this pack this can be called Legends of Gatwick Express with 442 460 73. The last train here Class 700 can be layered from SEH in it's 700/0 form to run Brighton to Bedford via Gatwick and Luton Airports.

Yes I did read that. Speaking of Class 700 are you still insisting Class 700/1 to be added here since it can be substituted by SEHS Class 700/0 on the Brighton to Bedford via Gatwick & Luton Airport Railway Stations. This is once BML memory issues are fixed

Legends of Great Western only used trains that already existed in the game, so if this ever happens I doubt there will be more than one new train.

It's a nice idea and perhaps now with the capability of making traction from scans we will see an uptick in new rolling stock. It's been a painfully slow, Electrostar-centric, roll-out of UK traction. At least give us the modern version it, the Aventra.
