How about set this in the mid 80's for the class 142 and FGW Hst?

And the surviving Class 108’s which came in after the 142’s were initially deemed unsuitable and served until the early 90s when initially the 150’s were brought in, then the 142’s and 143’s were returned to the area. Love them or hate them, we need a 142 in TSW!

A combined route to include the preserved line to Kingswear would be fantastic. Otherwise a good suggestion. The sea wall is just so iconic and has to come at some point.

Love all of those suggestions and the route would look very good with the FGW HST and the FGW 142. but i couldn't agree more the route is so iconic and the new sea wall can be built in the route as the one in TS classic doesn't have the updated sea wall

Very good suggestion and even though I would prefer it in the 80s I would take it in any era. Also why not go the extra 30 odd miles to Plymouth too?

The extension to Plymouth would be very cool too but probably a little long for TSW

Not really it would only be about 60 miles roughly.

cool suggestion! However, I would prefer this to be set somewhere between the 1950s and the 1980s

Either Plymouth or Exmouth included in this wouldn't be unreasonable, I don't think

Everybody’s saying this should be set in the ‘80s, and, this is probably an unpopular opinion, but — I think we got to many BR ‘80s routes, and it would be cooler to see a route set in the grouping era, or the post-privatisation with Virgin CrossCountry or GNER.

In my opinion it would be better set in 1962 with both diesel hydraulics and steam trains.

We have two 80s routes. We have too many modern routes not the other way round mate.

twinboo might have it the other way around matt#4801, though he is a bit right. We do have 3 80s-90s routes but no 60s, 40s so forth routes which isn't fair. They are doing too many modern routes that it's become a pain like we nearly get only one non modern route per year so I know it isn't fair.

What I was saying came out wrong, sorry. I wasn’t trying to say we don’t need more BR Blue routes, it’s just that some of them feel a bit “been there, done that”. The ‘60s dieselisation era has no representation, the BR Blue era has 3 routes (counting Diesel Legends of GW and TVL), and sectorisation has 2, while early privatisation has 0 (I’m okay with modern as it has lots of variety and pre-nationalisation may be a bit too hard to do). I wouldn’t mind more BR Blue, but I feel more countries and eras deserve a chance, I apologise for how it came out before.
