Hello all, TrainGeek08 here, and tonight I am suggesting the Class 180 for GWE as it fits the era and it is probably one of the most requested DLCs for that route Stock included in base DLC: The British Rail Class 180 'Adelante' (the you'll be going nowhere train) in FGW livery Training (In Training Center): Class 180 Introduction Scenarios: Cotswold Venturer: (Difficulty - 1) Drive a 180 from London Paddington to Reading stopping only at Slough during the summer months That'll be going nowhere: (Difficulty - 3) Drive a 180 from Old Oak Common to Paddington to pick up a failed 180 which failed in the station, max speed will be 40mph Readington: (Difficulty - 2) Drive a 180 from Reading to Paddington fast as the evening peak draws to a close Timetable: Incorporated into GWE timetable or make a separate timetable like the ECW 313 timetable I hope you enjoyed this short, but concise suggestion, put your thoughts below as per, I've been TrainGeek08, I'll see you again on Saturday for another suggestion and a scenario release from my CC Roadmap (check the Creation Centre subforum for details), but anyway, that's all folks, it's goodbye from me
Excellent suggestion here but First Group will not let DTG to use the FGW paints even though 166 & HST FGW is in the code.
I have been requesting the Class 180 for a long time. GWE desperately needs some proper dlc as it only ever received DLoGW.
Yeah, the licensing is the only issue here as GWR wants to use their livery which the 180s never received except from 2 carriages for the Old Oak Common Open Day event in 2017
The 180 is definitely a good choice for this route but as discussed above, the licensing issues are the only issue, if GWR were kind enough (not hopeful) to grant the FGW license, then yes the 180 is a great DLC choice for GWE
Personally I would be happy to accept a the Class 180 in a unbranded dark green GWResque livery if it meant we finally got the type as dlc. The line seems so strangely quiet without these and the Class 165/1s which were regular performers during the reflected 2015 period. To my knowledge, GWE is the only uk route of original TSW vintage that never received any genuine dlc, only the DLoGW throwbacks. Please remedy this DTG.
imo the way DTG treat the GWR/GWE is damaging and is one of the reasons I will not get TSW3. First they only give us part of the route and then they choose to virtually ignore it with added Loco's. The route can offer so much with passenger and freight and is idiotic not to recognise it's potential. Then you have the multitude of Loco's that have ran the route going back to the BR. Blue era which offers so much. But to me the most inane thing DTG have done with the GWE is the era they set the track in. Did they choose pre electrification? No! Did they choose post electrification? No! Either of these two era's would open up a load of Loco's as DLC but no they chose mid electrification which just seems daft to me. DTG should redo the GWE and give it the respect it deserves.
That's a fair argument, I agree, DTG have done a BR Blue DLC for GWE, then a timetable upgrade from the Special Projects Team (Preservation Crew back then) then left it, DTG need to give this route a 165 or 180 or something else if they can and while we're at it, get it to TSW3 standards as well if possible
maybe in future we could get a Grand Central or Hull trains because FGW wouldn't fit with the Era that being said I do love a good 180 great trains especially with Grand Central they have a horrible Brake squeal though
FGW 180s were present when GWE is set as GWR didn't relivery their Adelantes but the brake squeal is an iconic feature of the 180, but for all the wrong reasons, mainly the eargasm-like volume , but GC or HT are suitable alternatives though
