I've playing BCC alot, and needed a break from the route. I then went into SEHS (465/9) both are absolutely fantastic routes! The 465/9 for example, the sounds are true to form. I kinda feel guilty for all my ranting now. DTG content has always been high quality. It's the third parties who are the issue.

BCC is an incredible route, with a good setup time and easily achievable timetable. It is a route that DTG should be incredibly proud of. Keep it up DTG, and hold those devs to account. They are giving you a bad rep. Lastly, I'd like to thank everyone at DTG for their hardwork and dedication. The routes you have created show a clear passion. Keep up the good work!

As long as your ranting was constructive criticism lol. Every route has their bugs and quirks, but I've been having fun

I agree about BCC, I think it is one of their best routes, let down a bit by the poor scenery near Barnt Green. Aside from that it is a fun route and there are different terminus points. The 323 is very well modelled.

I don't know why it gets so much stick.

I just wish they would make Birmingham look like a city alive at night not like a tiny hamlet in the middle of the lake district!

Cathcart is one which surprised me. I bought it in a sale as I wasn't sure I would enjoy it that much. But, it is a nice little network, nicely modelled and I love the class 314. There is a mod to allow some of the Crimson and Cream ones to be seen which gives it a bit of variety.

BCC is a brilliant route as you say, the lack of people in new street lets it down big time though imho.

I don’t have BCC yet but on a general note it is quite a healthy thing to do to stop focussing on the things that aren’t there or aren’t working so well or look a bit iffy and take a step back and look at how fantastic TSW is and how good lots of things actually are.

I’ve been driving a lot in Kassel-Würzburg recently and it is a most enjoyable and relaxing route and the ICE trains are near perfect driving experiences. There’s hardly anything wrong with that route and the same goes for Cajon Pass. I’ve done every service on the pass and am currently repeating many of them. I’ve been using dynamic weather and working out the different seasons for what changes are more likely to happen. SEHS has hardly got a look in and that might be surprising as I’m a UK player but it just doesn’t have the same draw as the other two new TSW3 routes for me. I’m also on a second wind in London Commuter with the extra freight services and dynamic weather coming in handy there too for even more variety than the route already had. I have set about driving every service (longer than 5 minutes in time) in order, starting early in the morning and I’ll work through every service until I finish them all. I won’t ever get bored of that route.

Once the add-ons manager is out and I can get all my routes in TSW3, I’ll be revisiting lots of other routes and waiting for sales to pick up the more recent routes. I’m still loading up TSW2 for some routes rather than playing Tetris with TSW3 but there are some routes that are getting neglect from my side due to this. TSW is fantastic and we should never forget that. I’m hardly likely to forget with me getting daily enjoyment from it.

DTG gets hammered on here (rightly so) for some of their blunders, corner cutting, and their tendency to blast out new releases while not fully addressing problems with older releases.

But yeah at the same time they do some amazing work. Some routes and parts of routes are almost photo realistic to what's there in real life. They've managed to take some pretty complicated stuff (i.e. German signalling) and give us a good representation in game. They've also managed to provide a decent experience of widely varying trains and systems, Germany, UK, and the US are all very different. That needs a lot of technical knowledge not just for developing a game and 3D modelling but also for the technical side of how the trains actually work. And when you look at how the game has progressed from TSW2020 to right now it is all positive for the most part.

We all complain sometimes but that's just because we want the game to be better. I have like 400+ hours on TSW2/3 combined. I bet most the people that take the time to be on the forums are the same.

Well, OK, if you insist, I'll play Devil's Advocate.

Yes, we all acknowledge that TSW is a terrific game. I play it a lot and get a great deal of pleasure from doing so.
I also spent a small fortune last year upgrading my hardware just to be able to get the best experience I could from the game.
Plus, I listed, in another thread, several of the excellent routes and locos for which I give credit to DTG.

But a good theater critic praises aspects of the play he or she admires but never shies away from being critical of the performance where it's warranted

Take BCC, for example. I've said it's a well modeled route and, much as I dislike electric go karts, I actually think the 323 is fun to drive.
But I cannot ignore, no, not for a moment, that there is just one train to drive any distance and the City of Birmingham is suffering a permanent blackout. And there are scenery deficits which people have drawn attention to.

None of these issues should have made it through to the release of a $40 piece of software.

Does anyone really think for one second that any of the routes would be patched, that the save game would have returned or that Dresden, BML or BPE would have been improved, if all DTG were reading were fawning, praise laden reviews from the players?

So, forgive me and others if we can't join in the love fest, at least not yet.

Comes with the territory. The 323 is the only train that runs on BCC in real life, and that's all there is. What, should DTG add a completely bogus train just for variety?
Like Cathcart and Bakerloo and Luzerne, it's a one-train route.

I still think SFC is a very under-rated route. It needs a bit of love but when I dive in and get a good run I find it very fulfilling.

And as per my other thread we (as in me and Mrs Vern) just joined the PS5 owners club and I couldn't resist adding TSW3 to the collection. It is actually very good on console though I think more suited to straightforward passenger and commuter operations with freight and shunting better suited to the KBM ability of the PC.

BCC, have to admit I can't quite share the love. A one train route when multiple other train types and companies can be seen at New Street. Sub-freeware standard on some of the scenery particularly coming south out of New Street, the fencing (lack of) and canal sections at different heights to my knowledge have not been fixed.

Then simply don't deliberately choose routes that you know are limited to just one train, which seems to be happening with depressing regularity currently.

It's just cost cutting at a time when dlc prices are increasing.
