Have DTG ever commented on the lack of manuals for their DLC in recent times ? Time was when every DLC had a manual but the last one was for the TSW3 original launch . Nothing since and not a lot before for sometime .
Is this just another case of cutting back on time and resources and focusing on releasing yet more content or what ?
They may not be completely comprehensive but they are handy to read through and see where everything is and what everything is

Yesterday, I finally bought a DLC (the first for a few months because of the add on manager debacle for PS5 )As it was only a small size (Acela) I bit the bullet . So I uninstalled all my German routes and installed the US ones instead. I’m loving the Acela on Boston but I could not find a way to activate the safety system , after spending ages looking for it in the cab. Even Matt didn’t mention it on the feed , he just pressed some shortcuts on his PC. I’m the end went through loads of videos trying to find it and eventually I did , thanks to Trainguy4 .
Thing is, this seems a pointless pain that could be avoided by a manual (or let’s be honest Matt could have shown it on the feed , he is usually more informative than that and consoles don’t have shortcuts for things)

(Sorry for the amount of brackets in this boost , I’m sure my old English teacher would be going spare , although as old as I am I would guess he may no longer be with us )
Whoops that was another one there

The lack of manuals never really bothers me as I wouldn’t read them anyway. If there’s anything I can’t work out for myself, I just google it.

I came for the thread title, and stayed for the rambling about brackets. Have a ‘like’.

It's not just DTG. Run 8 just released the Fitzgerald Sub in Georgia (200 miles running through an avenue of trees though apparently that's prototypical) but apart from a track chart and a list of industry locations (which are not currently showing up in game) there was no manual supplied. And for US$40 (about £33) you don't even get any additional motive power or rolling stock.

Don't misunderstand me - I enjoy Run 8 as I do TSW but the lack of information about something that might not be familiar to the purchaser is IMHO cutting corners. Could have saved a lot of angst on forums and FB when I posted about the "tree tunnel" to have had a pdf manal stating that's how it is in reality.

On the plus side we now have a 400 mile plus route that extends from Orlando to north of Manchester!

The fact that other companies release content without manuals does not excuse DTG in any way.
DTG are increasingly pointing players towards YouTube videos as a means to learn the locomotive operations and route signaling. A pretty poor way to deflect from the lack of manuals, which is simply a cost-cutting measure to improve their bottom line.

I wasn’t trying to deflect or defend DTG, sheesh. I was making the point there seems to be an increasing trend. Even buy a PS5 game on disc and there’s no manual, not even a list of controls. It is not really acceptable when you consider the price these games are being sold at, regardless of the publisher or developer.

I was very careful not to accuse you of anything.
