This might be a bit of an ask, but is there any possibility of being able to specify liveries for wagons/coaches, as well as for locos? For example, I had downloaded from CC an IC2 set for the 146 and Dostos, but there's no way to make the game use them together. (A related problem is an inability to get matching-livery F7 AB sets)
you're talking about needing a formation designer, i'm talking about making some formations out of the stuff already in the game Definitely get the need/desire for the formation designer, but what im trying to do here is selotape over a problem and open up some possibilities at least ICE 1 8 car would be fine to do that i guess but would need to know the actual coach make-up of it.
From a quick Google search, these where the cars that were sent over, not sure if those are available in game or not (Or a close equivalent)
An 8 car ICE1 would also be great as a staand in for an ICE2 I think if i know my Wagon details correctly it would be 401-Avmz-Restaurant-4x Bvmz-401 Also we need more Locos with n Wagen (112, 143, 204, 146, even 147 ran with n wagen for a time), 112, 182 and 110 with IC coaches, some with the Laaers at the back, 3x BR 423, and for the UK my beloved 66+Mk3 coaches or with a Mk1 between the Mk3s and the loco with a 37, 45, 47
A 37 with an RHTT between is a realistic occurrence sometimes, would love 37s with NTP Mk2s on the back as well
RSN BR 155, Avmmz, Avmmz, Avmmz, Bpmmz, Bpmmz, Bpmmz, Bpmmz, Bpmmz Left Rhine BR 103, 2 Avmmp, 5 Bpmmz fro the 101 dlc
It would be cool to see something like this, with some NTP/TVL diesels with some NTP barrier coaches top-and-tailing a DMU or EMU as a maintenance move. Obviously I know the couplings on most EMUs are incompatible but just a thought.
I'd like to have a spawn on foot "formation", mainly for scenario testing purposes, like for noting the times/positions taken by all services performed purely by AI, while looking at the map. I usually put a single loco player's service on a track that will be unused, or on a short start to destination distance, stopping a few meters before the final marker before all the AI services start, or in a place where I can quickly move it to some siding or a yard, and then I check how AI and the service that is finally intended to be player's are being performed by AI, to test it later if I can perform it similarly, but having a spawn on foot "formation" could be also used for "player as a passenger" type of custom scenario.
Quite easy for me : DB Br 143(DCZ) with N-Wagen and KaKo Cab Car. Also agreeing on every other post here, the more the better !
US-wise could we get some more locomotives pulling passenger cars. Even if it isn’t truly prototypical I’d love to recreate Amtrak services. The F40-PH or AC4400CW pulling the Amtrak coaches from Boston would be great as we can repaint the locomotives ourselves.
What about C40-8W to masquerade as the amtrak dash 8, i'll let you supply the livery and pretend it has less wheels, pulling Amfleet's and another one with it pulling gallery cars (subbing in for superliners) ? How.... far.... do you want to push this? Unlike wacky substitution - this is only ever stuff you pick yourself, so if you dont like it you can just ignore it, so feels like it could be a little more creative like this?
Great idea Matt, TripleJ814 has done it on one of his Oakville Subdivision scenarios, we need a formation like that in game
Sounds wonderful. You can do it sometimes already if you spawn in sidings and do some shunting but it would be so much better if we could select these things as a consist.
I think there’s an issue when the C40-8W hauls the Amfleet Coaches I only tried it once (and it was a formation made in the unofficial editor, I didn’t shunt it in place) It was 1 C40-8W and 5 Amfleets (Boston version) I think the Dash 8 can’t release the brakes on the Amfleets because when I was driving it the train wouldn’t accelerate at all to line speed. (I did double check that I had brakes all cut-in) I should test that some more today
Ah OK, but DTG would be able to change the physics to make that not happen and make the formation work
More 101 formations would be nice... for example 101 + 5 wagons (1 Avmmz, 4 Bpmmz) or sandwich formations
I'm not going to be able to do physics changes as a part of this, that's a bigger thing that requires wider testing. The problem is probably that the coaches are running to 110psi brake pipe, where the C40 is probably running to 90psi brake pipe, so you can't get the brake pipe up enough to get the brakes to release. Unless there is an option to adjust the brake pipe pressure to passenger levels on the C40 that won't be something that's possible unfortunately.
i just wish we could use locos like the 37 and 66 to drag multiple units but that would require modelling adapter couplers and stuff like that
I would definitely like to see some rhtt formations available for all uk diesel locomotives. So class xx rhtt rhtt class xx. Regarding the RF controller, can you still start the generator and start spraying with keyboard bindings? I've never looked.
also 12 car networkers would be cool, aswell as being able to couple more than 2 units together in general for trains like the 465, 314 etc
Maybe also an ICE1 with an Br101 in front. If an ICE breaks down, Br101s are used to bring them into the mechanics
In preparation for the upcoming un electrified German route, maybe some more bits for the DRA. blue/beige DB363 shunter. It actually has a very nice selection of things already but maybe a short train of vans would go nicely on that route.
Hmm matt Maybe This Is Something For you. BR 185 143 146 and 112 with n-Wagen And Maybe, The MAG 423 With 3 Units Like IRL
Or Maybe The SKA Talent 2 With 5 Cars in singel And Double And Maybe with 5 And 3 Cars Like national Express
How about mixed steam trains. A 8f or jubilee with a mixture of coaches and freight? I know trains used to run like this some time ago.
I would like to be able to haul TVL freight wagons with NTP locos. Also with Class 66s Also as mentioned above, all of the UK passenger rolling stock with all UK locos. Loving this new concept.
I would like to see mixes of goods stock and locos. At present the class 31 and single class 20 are very limited but could pull a wider of NTP stock. Ditto seeing the class 40 / 45 / 47 on TVL with goods stock. I would also like to see the many yards used more widely on both TVL and NTP - if only by AI trains.. But then I suppose I am hoping for something akin to TSC type consist flexibility which is probably unrealistic given the more "prototypical" structure to TSW.
I know it's still broken, but is there any chance we can get some manifest consists for US routes with the Freight Car subbing on them? It would be nice to have them as an option for scenario planner.
The ability to select multiple loco's eg double-headed 47's to haul a consist, or to produce loco moves would be nice. I know there are loco movements in certain German dlc, why not roll this over into the scenario planner for all countries loco's.
How about the ability to select the driving vehicle and then having a set of different consists so people can mix and match locos and wagons or power cars and coaches. In terms of passenger trains, given that there are certain sized slots in terms of the number of vehicles, having different lengths of certain vehicle sets would make for the broadest compatability across routes.
Thanks for doing this Matt, here is my quite extensive list: class 37, 20, ECW 66+GWE 66 RHTT Class 08/09 with all BR freight and MK2's and all MK1's from WSR, SoS etc, convoy with a single 66 Class 20 with all MK1 coaches, all BR freight, Top and tail with MK1 brake coaches Class 31/33/37/40/45/52 with all MK1 and MK2 coaches, (for class 31 or 33 double header with class 31/33 with MK1's) loco with all BR freight, and for the 37, we cannot do a light loco for both of them so it would be nice if we could do that. (For both Class 47's) all MK1 and MK2 coaches, the formation we can do on BCC, double header with mk1's, top and tail with MK1's, would be nice if either of them were to be at the rear of one of the railtour consists e.g. class 33 with mk1s and a 47 on the rear. Class 47 or a 37 towing 4x HST powercars on a scrap move for example. HST powercar, HST powercars x2. Class 66 with basically all freight (SEHS 66 with containers for example) apart from the ones on WCL, MK1's, MK2's, Class 66 pulling Jubilee+MK1's as if the Jubilee had failed. Class 101 with 2 coaches in the middle, class 101 powercar on it's own, class 101 powercar+101 powercar facing the same way with another 101 powercar facing the other way which can be seen on heritage railways. class 313+314 Class 375+377 Class 387 with a 377 and a 375, now this one is a push, someone made a scenario on creators club using a 3 car 377 found in the files, it would be really cool if we could use that as they would run on the Seaford branch sometimes. Class 483 with a 38 stock in underground livery, 483 with 72 stock, same with the 38 stock in underground livery. Jubilee/8F with 1 MK1 brake coach, all mk1's. Then onto other combinations: All single locos (08, jubilee, 52 etc) in a convoy with at least 3 or more. Class 47 pulling mk3 coaches A combination of rolling stock you might find in a siding, like some 20 ton vans, trucks locos all jumbled up which would be quite nice to see in a WSR scenario. DB BR 101 as a light loco I understand that you probably wouldn't be able to do all of the above but I thought I would give my main ideas and I hope some can be seen in the future, Thanks.
Sandwich: Br 143 + DoSto x2-5 + Br 143; Br 143 + n-Wagen x2-6 + Br 143; Br 146 + DoSto x 2-6 + Br 146; Longer coal trains hauled by Br155 (currently with this weight, they exceed the permissible pressures).
BR diesels on SOS freights. BR diesels all with a passenger consist BR Diesels on modern goods long as they are air braked etc Jubilee on freight.
DTG Matt here's My ideas: LMS Jubilee + 5 Mk1s + Class 47 LMS Jubilee + 7 Mk1s + Class 47 LMS Jubilee + 10 Mk1s + Class 47 2x Class 47 + 6 Mk2s 2x Class 47 + 7 Mk2s 2x Class 47 + 8 Mk2s 2x Class 47 + 9 Mk2s 2x Class 47 + 10 Mk2s 2x Class 47 + 12 Mk1s Class 43 HST + 5 Mk3s
Any US Freight diesel, ACS64, rake of Amfleets MBTA F40PH, ACS64, rake of Amfleets US freight loco, Acela set For when the cables are down
The more I think about this the more I arrive at the same conclusion... Instead of specifics could this whole formations of equipment thing not just be simplified? Such as : all British with all British, all German with all German, and all North American with all NA, &c. That seems to be the most logical end result to me. And most realistic. "The Proof & Truth is out there". Basically - no limitations so long as equipment is compatible from the same part of the world and owned by the gamer in question; any formation should be possible. Just a thought.
Here's another one which is realistic Bremen Oldenburg/Ruhr Sieg Strecke Baureihe 155 or DB BR143 with IC coaches now painted in Orange and cream paint to run as an East German Deutsche Reichsbahn Städteexpress remember these were operated on Riesa-Dresden & Tharandter Rampe.
I like the idea of back to back Class 43 HST power cars minus the usual Mk3 coach formations. Occasionally to be seen on light engine moves for maintenance purposes.
in germany for the ICE 1 14 coaches +2 power moter,7+2 BR 146.2,143,112.... 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 coaches d'osto same for the pilot coach BR 423 SKA and HMA triple 423 same for BR 425 triple for HHR and BMO BR 101 6,8,9,10, without a br 101 in the rear - 11,13,14 coaches with a BR 101 in the rear BR 182 (for all 182 in the game) 6,7,8 coaches d'osto and new IC formation with 6,7,8,9,10 without a loc in the rear ,13,15 coaches with a BR 101 or 182 in the rear BR 182 (RT) freight formation: 25 habbins +2 182 mixed freight 1 does 240 meters long mixed 2 400 meters and mixed 3 700 meters long. for UK class 43 with 9 coaches class 45+MK1 1 coach+class 43 4,5,6,7,8,9 class 47+MK1 1 coach+class 43 4,5,6,7,8,9 DTG Matt
182 with Intercity coaches would be really good to have. Also the MRCE and Dispolok variants could have dosto formations.
Nice ones! N-wagen can be seen on a few loco's and routes already in the game! The 423 also nice but doubt they can do that easily!
