Last 6 Quick Plays I did gave me a scenario. Seems rather unbalanced to me. Am I just having bad luck or does Quick Play really favour Scenarios over Timetable services?
I have the same impression. I did a lot of Quick Drive "0-30 minutes" in the course of last week and the weekend and it threw me in A LOT of learning scenarios and undone route scenarios. Not a single timetable run was choosen. I was busy neverless and took the offering for training not as an offense, but a a chance to refresh my knowledge on how to handle locos I didn't see for years from the inside
Aye, when I just stared with the Quick Play feature I got a lot of tutorials too. I did find it annoying, but I assumed the game didn't want to put me into a loco without making sure that I completed the tutorial. (Such a system would make sense IMO, although I'm unsure there actually *is* such a system). I figured playing the tutorials, many of which I find annoying because I know how to play most of the trains by now, was a way to 'unlock' access to more scenarios and timetable services. But it seems I'm now past the tutorial phase. I'm now getting the regular scenarios. But really, *only* scenarios. Haven't seen a timetable servce pop up in Quick Play.
You can turn tutorials off in the settings. I'll ask about whether scenarios are chosen first and let you know.
I seem to have a bias to scenarios too after turning tutorials off. Be good to see quick Play have some filters
Last few times it has thrown scenarios at me (Tutorials and Training Centre turned off) rather than Timetable. One area where the system could be improved is to tell you what you're getting before loading the run. While this removes part of the element of surprise, it would allow you to reject the yet another boring all stations 766 Dosto run and hope the randomiser throws up something different.
Well the ones with the N wagons aren’t too bad, bouncy and noisy but a 766 on an all stations run to Meissen or on DCZ was interfering with what’s left of my sanity.
I think we probably need a few different filters. Totally agree with the filter for tutorials on/ off (that's been done) but would also add Scenario On/ Off and Route On/ Off to that list. Come to think of it I would also like a Timetable within route On/ Off as I keep getting given old Bakerloo timetable runs every other time I select 'Less than 30 mins' at the moment and I don't know it's an old timetable until I look at the gaps between services. DTG Matt - Is the weather random on the timetabled services in Quick Play? I don't mean dynamic I mean randomized between Dynamic and non-Dynamic?
Really need the ability to exclude specific route timetables. For example Rapid Transit I'd want to exclude from quick play but I'd happily have the 2021 timetable included.
Agreed. I love the n-Wagen Karlsruher Kopf (in-game but also in real life) for some reason but that’s about it. Haven’t actually done a single cab car run on DCZ.
Just had Quick Play give me a scenario that couldn't be completed because of a red signal being stuck. I guess nothing stops Quick Play from giving me that scenario over and over and over and over again because it will always remain uncompleted. And... any news?
Another question; if Quick Play picks a Timetable service, does it pick them from the Journey mode or from the Timetable mode? or; Does Quick Play advance your Journey mode progress?
No it doesnt which is the primary reason I dont use it, that any it takes an idea to actually decide which scenario/service to give me
So I spoke to the team and the short answer is that it will randomly pick between scenarios and services - but there's a percentage chance that probably errs towards scenarios - i'm still waiting on them to tell me what that is for sure
Are we going to be any closer to a post asking the forum what filters should be on the quick play Matt?
I'd love that, but the issue is that as you get closer to completion of journeys itll keep picking the broken scenarios and services
Now it'd be nice if DTG would actually collect that data to get a good picture of which scenarios and services are started, but never completed, by a notable portion of the playerbase. Would be a good indication something is wrong and need fixing.
There is still Journey Mode in TSW3? I only recently started playing in TSW3 and I thought it was removed, as I couldn't find it where I'd expect it to be. I thought it was replaced by Quick Play. The UI isn't as intuitive now as it was in the past.
It is under Rail Journeys in the menu, first click To The Trains, then it should show on the top right corner of the screen above Quick Play
