Hello there! It has already been mentioned in some places that there will probably be a new Loco DLC called "BR403" soon. But what is behind it? Should the "old" ET403 - also called "Donald Duck" - come along, I would definitely celebrate it. In my opinion the most beautiful German electric multiple unit to date. And above all he is the real pioneer of all today's modern ICE (e.g. BR403 etc.) among other things through the so-called "Powercars". Pic by Wikipedia However, should a DLC come with the modern ICE BR403 (which already exists in TSW), I could imagine the version with the rainbow stripe: Pic by me But please, the classic ET403 would be awesome! Incidentally, it also existed until the early 1990s as the "Lufthansa-Express" (it even ran along the Rhine, so it would almost fit the Rhine route, even if it was discontinued in 1993 by the LH-Express): Pic by Wikipedia Maybe we'll know more later. I can barely wait for it. What do you all mean?
I'm not sure about the ICE 3 as everybody who is interested in german routes already owns at least the KWG ICE 3 BR 403. Some, like me, own already 3 variants (403 from KWG and MAG, 406 from SKA). So i don't know how smart it is to release another ICE 3 BR 403. The only way i can see it, is with a huge timetable update like for HRR. But even then - DTG did timetable upgrades for RT and HBK for free, giving the ICE 3 a layer for RT which it didn't have before. Why would it now be a loco DLC? The ET 403 "Donald Duck" seems at first more logical, als DLC for Koblenz-Mainz. But: They were not in use anymore in 97. So 2 possibilities: 1. The 403 is used in timetable like a "regular" train, giving it a lot of services, but for the sake of an unrealistic timetable. 2. The 403 is used as railtour/museum service- This seems more realistic, but then it would have like only 2 services as day in TT. So both ways, Donald Duck doesn't fit.
The fact that DTG is not so precise with the year numbers is also shown by the fact that in 1997 they probably had a 103 with the old tin logo and aprons driving around. Then you could also let the ET403 drive. At least it fits into this era.
I think the ET 403 is somewhat unlikely due to a combination of complexity and limited use. I think a livery pack for the BR 403 ICE 3 is more likely, perhaps in order to go into a German bundle with some recent German releases at a later point. This would very much continue the trend of the US packs, including the UP heritage livery pack. The BR 403 surely has enough liveries to do this with. I do wonder if they'll tie it to a scenario pack (in which case I'd be unlikely to buy it) or some timetable upgrades to for example HRR, RRO, or MSB, in which case I might buy it if the price is right, but would also be slightly annoyed if the timetable update seems like it should have been free (but that depends on the quality and complexity of the new timetable are worth my money).
You mean as in where the DLC with the name "BR 403" came from? It was in a leak from the Epic Games database.
and one for the ICE 1! I do actually really like these livery packages; because a livery from the creators club is not close to the standard of the DTG ones! And this time we will get 4 liverys!
i meant like having something like a diesel legends timetable where it's set in the past. So, did the et403 ever run in any of the current german routes?
Whether I like it or not really depends on the price for me. I don't really care about scenarios, so it will either have to come with timetable enhancements that make me go 'wow' and not 'should have been included with the original release' (both of which I think are unlikely as the release timetable for KWG seems well-rounded), or be priced really low for me to consider it. Perhaps it will work out favourably in combination with the Class 37/7 for SEHS to buy this aswell, perhaps it won't.
oh, you count those too. I only counted the german part of the bundle. Then you could also count the 375 and 37/7 of the UK part
