I think they should add Gatwick express 387 for London to Brighton route

Thameslink 387 for London to bedford or London to Peterborough

    Gwr 387 for Paddington

I mentioned elsewhere on these forums that it's strongly rumoured that a 387 is on the way from a third party developer, it could also be used for the later 377 units on Southern and for 379s out of Liverpool Street, though only as AI on the Bethnal Green - Liverpool Street stretch or for Ilford Depot runs. The 379s are actually cleared for working up to Norwich and Harwich. Indeed, one spent a day on the Manningtree - Harwich branch testing the effectiveness of batteries as way of running AC electric units over stretches of line without OHL.

    But I digress.

Totally disagree that the 387/379 would be for a limited market, when all manner of existing DLC is being upgraded to improve realism. I also don't think the OP was deserving of such a disdainful reply.

FYI, there's a credible rumour that one developer is actually working on a Class 387. I'll buy it even if its £20.

Send your way to Superalbs’ website or DPSimulation where you will find some reskins for the 387

Already aware of the excellent work of Superalbs and I have his 379/387 reskins. But a proper 387 DLC is needed.

What difference will it make? What is the difference in the Game from a 377 to a 387?
The Cab will be the same, the controls will be the same and it will operate in the same mode.
Externally the passenger windows are slightly different but otherwise not much else

Well it would be nice for 387 even though there might not be that much difference it would be nice to see it

A reworked version of the 377 would be nice... the original one is quite old by now and could do with some better modeling and texturing.

Quite a bit for those who want proper versions of trains and I'm not just talking about 387s, it's 377/6, 377/7, 379s too.
Given the significant amount of software upgrades and technological advances on the later Electrostars they would have different driving dynamics. For example, the 377/6 have more motors than the older 377s so have far better acceleration.

Obviously you wouldn't be forced to buy it, you can stick to reskins of the original 377s with its so-so ride and lack of functionality. I'll be driving one of those newer red ones to Gatwick, I will wave.

AFAIK the monitors don't work in the game so you can have some more blank screens to look at.
The 377/6 & /7 have an extra coach so two extra motors
You are saying the original 377 has it's "so-so" ride but there is not a 377/6 to compare it with in the game so the ride is moot.
I suspect DTG would use the same physics and bodyshells and just update the visible items that have changed
I would not think they would change the bogie simulation on a 377/6 for a "better ride"

No, I'm saying there could be an improvement or Pro version of the 377, ideally the newer version of the bodyshell for variety which would also allow for modern scenarios where 379s and 387s run. Anyway, it's all irrelevant debate because MKS are making a 387.

Are you 100% sure MKS are making a 387
