It is the last of old DLCs (except WSR and swiss routes) I didnt purchase yet, how much it subs in to the trains and services from other german route? BR101, BR143, BR155, are they available there? Any freight timetable https://routerlogin.uno/? Thx
It comes with an MRCE freight loco which can sub onto other routes just like all the German freight locos, so I think the BR 155 would be useable as a freight loco on Rhein-Ruhr Osten as well. The included S-Bahn train adds an S-Bahn layer to the original Köln-Aachen timetable (not the New Journeys one). I believe Main-Spessart-Bahn adds a regional bahn/express layer which takes a different route than the S-Bahn line and includes a station you’re otherwise not able to stop at. I am also able to use the BR 143 on these passenger services unlocked by Main-Spessart-Bahn. The 101 is not available in the timetable. The G6, one of the well-received TSW loco DLCs, has scenarios and timetable services on this route.
270 playable services. All freight locos sub into each other. 185.5 is base locomotive. g6 shunter adds in unique shunting/freight moves. The 422 does RB48, S8 and S9 services. The 146 and 110 do re4 services. The 143 and 112 do freight, re7 and re4 services. And the other locomotives do freight only.
Which is wrong: VV Köln uses 423s, not 422s (a mistake the NJP corrected). However, the 422s also (correctly) layer into HRR, making that route busier.
Yes, of course. But it theoretically still allows you to at least drive most of the S-Bahn timetable without having to buy a separate DLC for it. Also, aren’t the 422s included with HRR from the start? I believe the RRO 422s can substitute there, which sometimes causes problems because the on-train PIS systems aren’t compatible. But I do not believe the RRO DLC makes HRR busier.
Its a nice route but definitely needs a little work. The worst thing for me is the abrupt gradient changes. They are not gradual at all. There are some decent gradients with challenging services and it can be tough or even impossible in bad weather.
RRO is worth it just for opportunity to buy the G6, but even without it there's a lot of fun to have and the Sbahn services are challenging to keep time to but not impossible once you've mastered it. I'd recommend it but wait for a sale and then pick it up along with the G6 (the G6 is worth paying full price for but if it's in a sale then it would be a complete steal).
Hello redrev1917 ! I have recently acquired RRO and I enjoy the S-Bahn route. In fact, I am currently running a TGV train on an all-stops service I created in the so-called Scenario Planner, while I'm chasing the French Connection achievement. This way, I do 15 boarding tasks per route, instead of max 3 on LGV. I was thinking of buying the G6 add-on, everyone is raving about it, but there's only one thing stopping me yet: how much content does this loco come with? How many services and scenarios do I get with RRO? What about DCZ? The synergy spreadsheet suggests that there will be something added to DCZ as well, probably some timetable services. When I bought the BR363 loco add-on, I was underwhelmed by the content it adds: 15 services and 2 scenarios (of which one cannot be completed, due to permanent red light). The synergy spreadsheet says it adds a layer on HBK, but I haven't seen anything playable (maybe only AI trains?). Considering that I already had the loco from DCZ/DRA, this was a waste of money.
The g6 doesn't add much. Like around 20. They are all unique and I've read some people have issues with a few services. Usual 3 scenarios just like any other loco dlc. The g6 only subs into other routes for the 363 services.
With that being said, why are people raving about this loco so much? Even above: What are its selling points?
The loco model has good quality. Most of the engine controls are implemented (fast/slow mode, pzb, automatic light switch, etc ). It has nice details like folding the driving chair under the control table. The engine controls, power system, brake systems and physics in general are extemely good. It really feels like the real thing. Improved UI accelerometer. The timetable is very realistic IMHO. It looks like a day of work, and not an endless copy/paste like many others. There are probably more things that are not coming to my mind right now, but overall I would say this is one of the best TSW DLCs ever if not the best. Can't wait for more TSG releases, starting with the Niddertalbahn. This is coming from someone that does not really like shunting that much, but when something is really good it is difficult not to like it.
Cuz it was made by tsg who has a really good reputation. It's mainly Maik who had to create a whole new brake simulation, sounds, physics and setup of the locomotive and spending thousands of hours testing it until it was perfect. You don't have to buy it of course. It earns him a little extra income. He sets the bar high compared to dtg or other 3rd parties. If rivet had made it, then nobody would have bought it.
You get 19 timetabled services and 5 scenarios (including a free roam around Hagen yard), but all 19 services are completely different and basically cover a full days operations. There is one timetabled service which is unable to be completed however, which is G6-Sh04 Prepare a intermodal consist due to an issue with RRO signaling rather than anything to do with the G6. The G6 also can be subbed in wherever a BR363 offers services and IMO is a far nicer drive.
This sounds like a circular reference: isn't TSG's really good reputation because of the quality of this DLC? Have they released anything else?
And the excellent 612 is his. He also is responsible for a good deal of the ICE 1, 3, 3M being as polished as they are.
He's already made several good first impressions. Compare that to rivet with their first dlc and how it had completely wrong physics and fewer than 10 services on msb while having numerous bugs but released anyway. The g6 didn't have that. I haven't seen a single bad review on steam saying the dlc is really poor. The 204 from rivet had mixed ratings with the issues I mentioned above while the g6 had mostly positive ratings. If his help was terrible, nobody would have bought the g6 cuz of the poor reputation he would have built up. But that's not the case. In tsc, he made some dlcs which were well received based on steam reviews alone. Konstanz Villingen and the extension to Hausach. He made the 425 emu. He also provided sounds and did setup for some dtg content. He helped with many things in tsw such as the 425, 423, ice1, ice3, 101, 612, 363, 442, 110, 103, g6, upcoming 628, 365, 420, 232, 218. Is that not enough to prove he is capable? You obviously don't have to buy any of his dlcs if you don't think his dlc is good or worth the money. A good first impression goes a long way in the community.
Please stop. The fact that Rivet did something good or bad does not tell me absolutely anything about TSG. The question was: Have TSG released anything else? From redrev1917 and solicitr replies above, I am now aware that Maik (TSG) was involved in other work, which was released by DTG themselves. I didn't know that, and now I agree that the work is indeed excellent, based on my experience with the above mentioned trains. On the other hand, my experience with Rivet content wouldn't tell me anything about the quality of the work of TSG, DTG, Skyhook, or anyone else other than Rivet.
The timetable could definitely use an update here, with the addition of IC and ICE services among others.
Yea but if you compare the 204 with tsgs g6 or any of the content he helped out with, and read people's reviews on forums and in tsw2020 and tsw2, you would see how poor the 204 was.
