Well this is a surprise (this release date came outta nowhere) and at a reasonable price to boot.Rivet games steam rail recycle tour wasn't on my radar but at the same price as that underwhelming UP livery 6 pack,Plus a upgraded steam loco+some christmas light coaches this might be interesting, weather it will work right or not who knows. But it might be worth a shot. What anyone else think. £9.99 €11.99 $14.99
I’d say wait until we see some reviews and streams. If it’s just a set of one way trips you may as well use scenario planner. If there’s some interesting services then maybe it’s worth it.
To be fair, the one thing I have found on the Rivet routes I own is that they do come up with some original and interesting scenarios.
Ten quid for it isn't a bad price, especially for those who own WCL and Edinburgh - Glasgow. And rivet are usually quite creative in scenarios, so might be one to keep an eye on.
Well just perhaps rivet games is useing this dlc add on to learn more or how to work with or create a steam loco with it being a stepping stone to eventually create a steam loco for one of there own routes.
Im sure they’d be pretty good at making a steam engine. Their rolling stock modelling is really quite good. Unfortunately it’s always let down by weird sounds and physics.
Let's see 1st A speed odometer-sound interesting but unless you play with hud off is it really usefull. 2nd A battery-powered tail lamp sound interesting but unless you have to travel tender frist alot,is it really that different from a fuel oil lamp 3rd A AWS system well this could be interesting as long as you can choose to turn it on or off as well All good ideas that will be unique options..
Are we paying £10 for just 5 scenarios, an extra four services and a couple of extra liveries for a locomotive we already have? Is the class 37 a new locomotive to the game? I have no objection to buying this pack, but I wish Rivet would concentrate on improving their awful scenery offering as well as their appalling replication of the towns of St Ives and Penzance and places in between!
Think of it as a scenario pack in tsc. It's the same concept The steam railtour pack is not just a livery change. Modifications have been made to the jubilee as well to make it more modern. While the 37 is still a 37, it's still a different 37. It needed new couplers/buffers I believe. There's a new cab interior with a new panel to allow you to haul the unrefurbished 375. Oh and the 375 is a brand new model cuz dtg fully modeled with the correct livery so you can drive it as well. Along with new gameplay.
Its not a new 37, its the one which comes with the WCL route. You are thinking of the forthcoming ROG 37 which will be in a different Loco Pack.
I think before releasing new content they should get priority right and fix broken 150/2 which has been out over a year rather than stick 2 fingers up at everyone doing so knowing full well 150/2 sounds nothing like sprinter that it should
I agree Rivet’s work is extremely poor. So many scenery flaws in WCL makes it look like a fantasy route. 150/2 is also a disgraceful. Their recent release of ScotRail had to have a massive update within two weeks. IMO Rivet’s work is extremely poor and shambolic and I am disappointed that they even attempted WCL. I am pleased it’s in the game but wish another developer had released it. The total cost for WCL and Rail Tour is now £34.98. Is it worth that for so many locomotive and scenery flaws. Just to mention a few scenery issues . St Ives harbour wall and lighthouse Missing, Pedn-Olva hotel on beach Missing, Beach Cafe Missing, Wrong bridge over Railway in St Ives, Godrevy Lighthouse Missing, West Cornwall Golf Club Missing, Town of Penzance Missing replaced by a forest, Carn Brea castle Missing. I could go on but the list is endless. Rivet released this route in November 2021 and apart from correcting their awful rendition of Truro Cathedral, they haven’t bothered to improve all the other glaring mistakes and omissions. It’s about time they did and make the route more realistic and worthwhile.
I am personally very excited to do it. My schedule for the day when a new dlc drops its literally wake up, sort myself out, have breakfast and get the dlc and do that all day lol. Personally I'm more on it for the liverys than anything which is probably a heated thing as I know some people didn't go much on the livery packs we had before.
Not to mention the misplaced stopping points for some of the stations in the Down direction, the lower case spelling on one of the footbridge signs at Truro, incorrect LC and foot crossing infrastructure, wrong speed limit on the Up St Ives branch. And that's before the Hell On Wheels which is still the 150/2!
Just watched the Rivet walkaround video. Looks great but still only 5 coaches in the consist. Can anyone from Rivet confirm, and if so why only 5? Surely a rail tour would have at least 10 to make money?
Just look at the fully decked out fancy locos and the above average coaches. This train screams high society 1st class well to do people only. Why have extra coaches for the commoners they can't afford a ride like this. This is my in world explanation as for rivet gamee don't have a clue.
I saw this video and it looks good but although I will purchase it, I just have a feeling that this will be another Rivet release that will make me feel, why did they do that so wrong or why did they forget to add that!!! Will this release too have lots of bugs and fixes Rivet can’t be bothered to put right. Rivet products make me feel that another developer would have made it so much better!!!
Please save your money don't give in. Use scenario planer instead. I'm always running my steam engine up and down the line.
People can freely spend their own money, personally i'd rather play official scenarios than custom made ones
Looking for this on the game store for ps4, can't see it yet, or do I have to go through sony playstore, I have Cornwall route already.
Just bought it,it works pretty well a few minor issues (shocking i know) but still better then expected for 15.00 it's not bad at all. For one thing so far the battery powered light works fine but on trainning center it's white but of the other routes i tried it on so far it's been red. The AWS works and dam it's loud you won't not hear it. The headboards are nice but you can't use a top light on these locos. The red stripes on the black jubilee break up as you move away from the loco. The yellow stripe behind the crimsom loco smoke stack also break up at some close and far distances. More later.
I'm on steam and the lights are fine for me. The Edinburgh to Glasgow service doesn't have a fireman.
You are correct and for the scenery issues that can be prevented if Rivet Games stuck with scenery building making them second party
only issue I have found is the roof hatch on Leander seems to be... invisible. Got a service failure, but I believe that was my own stupidity. And the class 37 rail tour waiting at Glasgow was a nice surprise too!
£9.99 for a handful of services on WCL and on Edinburgh-Glasgow as well as a 37 hauled Railtour on the Scottish route, along with some upgrades for the Steam Engines on the routes, Good value for money in my opinion. It's still a shame though that we can't choose a 37 and carriages on Scenario planner despite being able to run them on passenger stock on several routes.
At the moment no, LMS Jubilee Black subs into E-G and WCL, LMS Crimson and the two festive variants only sub into WCL.
Xbox One... One other thing the battery powered light has a white light on trainning center but it's red on all the other routes i have tried so far.
Has anyone tried the railtour options on glasgow yet? What's it's like? I don't have glasgow yet.Not ready to pay 40.00 for another one train route.I'm waiting for the xbox sale i know will never come. Note i've heard the 37/5 has two railtour option on glasgow along with one for the black jubilee.
One small thing I will say is the rusty valve gear I'm not a massive fan of. I understand weathering is appropriate here and there but the valve gear would never get that bad in preservation?
