Trains The WCML southern portion is very diverse from a locomotive standpoint but the main trains which should be included on the route/bundle should be 1. Class 390 Pendolino: These are high-speed tilting trains operated by Avanti West Coast, and built by Alstom. They have 9 and 11 car formations that run between London Euston and Birmingham New Street, and on to other destinations in the north-west of England and Scotland. 2. Class 350 Desiro: These are electric multiple units operated by London North Western that run between London Euston and Birmingham New Street, with stops at stations including Watford Junction, Northampton, and Wolverhampton. Class 323 Class 730 (DLC) Class 805/807 (DLC) Final DLC Suggestion ( Wolverhampton Extension) and Future Route merge Wolverhampton line is a section of the West Coast Main Line that runs between Birmingham New Street station and Wolverhampton station. It is a busy commuter route and is served by several train operators including Avanti WC, LNWR West Midlands Trains and CrossCountry. The line has several intermediate stations including: Smethwick Rolfe Street: Smethwick Rolfe Street is a railway station located in the town of Smethwick, West Midlands, England Smethwick Galton Bridge: This station serves the town of Smethwick and provides interchange with the Midland Metro tram network. Route Mergers with the BCC: Adding the WCML south gives the ability for the route at New Street to be merged with the WCML south, and unlocks another whole layer of networks, and gives New Street more life. The route being merged means of a cross country train is ever added, it unlocks the ability to do coventry - bromsgrove services which is the XC core, the route is about 1hr 30 mins long on faster non stop services which do Euston - Coventry - Birmingham, and Semi fasts which do Euston - Watford - Milton Keynes - Rugby - Coventry - Bham Intl and Bham, and even the slower LNWR which go via northampton and do the services to new street which take about 2 hours, also the Southern trains can go from Wembley Central - Hemel Hempstead for LBN owners, making this route very diverse and even freight add on packs can be made for the WCML South which unlocks a freight layer for Gen 9/PC, also merging the bakerloo line unlocks access to E&C to H&W making the route full of services and giving more of a network feel. Retro DLC DLCs like Electric Legends of the west coast can be made and give the purchaser access to the Class 81-87 first gen locos, the Class 90 and the APT, making this route available for everyone to use and for older and newer fans, Also a valenta HST for North Wales Coastal on this DLC can give the buyer access to the London - Rugby Intercity Services. Conclusion: I think this would be a good route to test TSW 3, ticks all the boxes, Route length, Network feel, balance of shorter and longer commuters/ semi fast / regional, mainlines, and also gives access to the more requested locos. Excellent Idea since it is a requested TSC route that must be made for TSW 3. Are you trying to make TSW 3 version of the TSC workshop WCML South Birmingham Cross City merger by using Birmingham New Street as the common origin point or not? If yes this can be sold as a Bundle called TSW 3 WCML & BCC Starter edition complete with SFS Hannover Würzburg and Cajon Pass and also standalone bundle TSW 3 BCC & WCML South
yep, like the american bundle we recently got, we would get the WCML South(with DC Lines), BCC and Bakerloo line as one big bundle then one or two DLC locos
honestly, it is 42 stations in total, but i would just like to see how they would do it, but i wouldn’t mind an ECML or WCML post electrification (or a midland mainline)
I think that ECML Peterborough to York would be a good fit for an intercity route (modern or backdated) as although it is 112 miles there are only 6 stations and much of the route is open countryside.
it would be a really nice route, but i’d prefer it set post electrification of the ECML, so we can at least get electras and maybe azumas
2019 would be perfect if you want it modern though personally I would go late 70s/early 80s to have Deltics and Valentas. In 2019 Azumas were introduced and HSTs and 225s were still bombing about.
