From footage it looks and sounds great. I will buy it. Just a thought. How about a discounted price for people that have already purchased wsr dlc. Say £5.99?. Then when editor comes out, charge £11.99 for people who don't have wsr but want the loco. Id also pay £4.99 to have a freight rake and brake wagon?
Wish they would but sadly we haven’t seen one discount for console DLC to date. PC players regularly get pre-order discounts so not sure why consoles should be any different
It’s different on consoles because Microsoft and Sony have much more strict rules on when and what can be discounted. According to DTG, Microsoft and Sony haven’t allowed them to do any preorder discounts so far. Steam on PC is much more lenient.
The price from scratch. Wsr 33 add on £5.99. Class 33 standalone without buying wsr £11.99. If dtg are adding something to a route already purchased then it shouldnt cost half the price of the dlc itself. I understand time and energy goes into these things, so a reasonable price maybe. If dtg were to reveal that on purchasing these locos and the arrival of edit mode. We could then be given an array of liveries free of charge to use on any route we choose then I understand.
I looked on the Playstation Store the other night and everything but the latest stuff (LIRR, BR33) is on sale.
Any idea where in the store? I can't seem to find it but maybe it's because I play on PS4 and have not purchased the PC version?
Well it should be here: https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP2866-CUSA10019_00-TSWORLDBRCLASS33?smcid=pdc:de-de:pdc-games-train-world-sim-ps4:leadproductinfo-herunterladen:train-sim-world:STORE-MSF75508-TRAINSIMWORLD (Link is for GB, change the locale if you are in a different area) It says Not available though for some reason. Maybe cause im not logged in and dont own the game for ps4 or they pulled it off the store temporary because something was wrong or so. [Update] Cant find it currently in the xbox webstore either, but on the console itself it shows up in the store if i search it.
If you are torn between buying it or not on PS4 I had a little drive with it earlier so you can have a look
The problem is that a route is downloadable content, a loco is downloadable content, a reskin is... I think you get the idea. There can be just as many hours put into a loco as a 30 mile route making sure that everything works as it should in a dynamic interaction fashion, so for a loco to cost £15 and a route £25 (or whatever it maybe) is perfectly fine by me, with a big if... And that if is that at some point down the line those locos can be used on other routes applicable to them, so I would expect when any future mainline is done that the 43, 47, 66 or whatever locos are applicable are then applied. Same as has happened with the German routes.
I fully agree with your thinking there. The effort involved with the content merits the cost, but buying a loco restricted to one route when it would fit era wise with others is a shame. WSR and GWE are the same era so it would work well.
