The steam railtour is awesome! Adds some nice welcomed variety to the timetable, but BUT Why the darn heck, does the Jubilee power through the hills leaving the poor 150/2 in the dirt now, I don't know wether you can reliably directly convert Lbf to Kw to compare the tractive efforts, but to me, a Steam Locomotive shouldn't outperform a DMU.
I've been able to keep to the speed limit for the most part, but the poor 150/2 barely gets above 40 on some of the climbs (Hayle - Camborne is a nightmare and the single track section between Truro and St Austell). But so far (I'm approaching Redruth), i've pretty much been in the same week as the speed limit without much issue
That's the problem with giving just 5 coaches to a powerful steam locomotive designed to haul 10-12 coaches.
Sprinter DMU's are powered and geared for acceleration. Problem is, Rivet's initial take was overpowered, so they nerfed it and now can't pull up a gradient very well at all. They have ignored subsequent complaints and feedback. I haven't bought the WCL Railtour pack but a Jubilee on Load 5 will probably accelerate in good order but I doubt would outpace a Sprinter. Don't forget, steam physics are still very much broken with promised additional fixes still awaited.
