That is pretty awful and really shows how bad the lighting can be in TSW. Not necessarily a thing with TSW3 either despite the adaptive eye, as DCZ demonstrated similar visual awfulness in certain lighting conditions on release. The cab of the 103 looks nice. However given concerns being expressed about the forthcoming 628 and the admission from both DTG and a developer that German traction sounds have become hard to get, how close to the real thing is the audio - or has it been aliased to something else? This route was originally on my "Day One" list but the issues (other posts indicate LC vehicle stoppers not working, again after same problem on BBO) are pushing it back to "first time on sale".
So far, the route looks very nice, but the n-wagen cab car has the same bugs as the one on Bremen? The bugs that were fixed some time ago?? Destination board resets, air sound from the brakes is looping? I have one question regarding the station names, is this prototypical? Bingen Stadt is named Bingen in the timetable Bingen Hbf is named Bingerbrück
i did a freight run in 3 parts but on the 3rd part 2 cars on 2 different crossings drove right through my loco they didnt even stop at the barriers. i cant remember what service it was but the first part started around 6 in the morning.
Saw a stream earlier and it clinched it, the scenery is too good not to have. Looks good, runs good, sounds good on PC. Also I remember someone was worried they hadn't seen the 1st class carriages. So here you go:
At the end of the IC 715 service (DB BR 103), 2 random passenger cars gained a jet black livery upon arriving at destination (car 2 and 5, or 1 and 4, don't remember). Freight service 54692 (DB BR 110 at 2 AM) does not start (the "Contact signaler" button doesn't do anything). Other than that pretty cool route.
103 sounds very familiar, in many cases like the 110 and drives like a reskinned 110 more or less. Brakes on 103 are as broken as on the 110. Why is that? It was clear with BRO already that the brakes are not working as they should be. Now next release, same broken physics. The models of the ships on the Rhein are not just bad, they look awkward. I also discovered this at Koblenz Hbf: Didn't drive in the summer yet... EDIT: I just have to say this, for me Dresden Riesa was the absolute "high" of the german routes, since then (besides KWB is a nice route) the quality has gone down very much...
Something I really cannot comprehend is that all the *international* D-Zug lines are operated with N-Wagen. This is literally the worst possible rolling stock choice for them. I actually looked up images of these trains in the era, and of course, they were not running with N-Wagen, especially not with a cab car. They were using older coaching stock similar to the IC coaches included in the route. In fact I found photos of some of them already having been repainted into the Produktfarben with the red window stripe. They did use 110s in front of them though. DTG, please, PLEASE, I hope the formations of these trains can be changed to 110s with IC coaches. This would also enhance gameplay on the route, opening up different coaching stock options to the 110. If they don't work with 110s, at least please replace the services with regular 103 hauled services, we just can't have long distance trains running services between Prague and Amsterdam or Pisa and Cologne being operated with commuter train coaches. I don't even have any knowledge of N-Wagen ever having left Germany on international services.
Part 2. I think some catenary infrastructure is missing. I just noticed the screenshots are wierd (didn't do QC on them, sorry).
The river texture is still missing before the tunnel (northbound) near St Goar. Seems like this DLC is hefty on performance, though I will say I have edited the engine.ini so I'm not pointing this out for complaints. Scenery is otherwise lovely, and driving the 103 is a lot of fun... what a beast!
DTG did a big oopsy there by translating the route's name WHILE making PIS directly use the translated name.
Very interesting; I just did a 103 run through there and everything was fine for me - however I had some cables missing along a different part of the route...
I believe it is the first 110 freight scenario. "Cold Steel" scenario in the "Short Circuit" rail journey. Minor unrelated issue: after saving a game, you are shown a screenshot from another route. I believe it is intended to be a screenshot from the route you saved.
I only noticed it there at the start of the scenario. I can try with something else. I will also try it on Xbox tomorrow. The screenshots were taken on PC. I passed in the 103, but did not notice it earlier. At first I thought I made a mistake, but the pantograph does not react to the overhead line (go up and down) because it isn't there. Also, I think the scenario starts with both pantographs down, the 110 starts moving with both down, and then the rear one pops up after a couple of meters.
Same location, spawned in timetable mode on foot. Maybe they're not supposed to be there, but the way they are arranged indicates otherwise. My screenshot skills are so low
Spoiler You can not translate the route indicator into the language of the game, it looks as stupid as possible.
Loving the route so far! Only issue for me is all the grey trees. I understand the limitations of consoles but man it looks bad . Maybe it’s just the time of day I chose.
Yeah, that's a funny one. Wikipedia says that the name was changed in 1993, and somehow the old name snuck into this 1997 route.
The 103's speedometer becomes inaccurate at high speeds. Compare the speedometer needle with the speed on the HUD: Now compare what it looks like at a lower speed: The station signs at Gau-Algesheim are blank: And coming from the west, the 9.8 km distance marker sign at Gau-Algesheim exists twice. The first one should be a 9,6 km sign. It's correct in the other direction. A sound issue, maybe prototypical, maybe not: when I increase the taps to speed up, the engine sound goes lower. Shouldn't it go higher?
Spawned in on foot at Mainz. There seems to be a peculiar diagonal dark patch on the platform and coaches/ wagons. The wagon was stationary. however, for the IC coach shots, they only go dark when they start moving...
This is comparing horses with monkeys. You might think they are the same but they are not. If we're talking tsw3 routes stuttering on TSW3 you're talking about potentially more scenically dense routes with a proper cloud rendering as opposed to a graphic tile. There's a lot more going on than just a train. TSW2 worked as it worked, TSW3 does too. Super Mario land will always run better than Mario 64.
That was such a weird excuse. Like c'mon - it has been mentioned by the community, just simply remove the skirts... nobody cares what brought you to the model you have, fix it to look correct.
The SIFA switch in the n-wagen cab car does not work in service mode. Additionally, the BR 110.3 does not turn its red rear lights on automatically when you start a n-wagon cab service. PS: I found the SIFA switch problem in the first Journey service for the n-wagen RB (6008) Mainz to Koblenz Part 1 (in case the dev team needs an example).
It's getting embarrassing with the amount of errors and bugs that are viewed as acceptable in a release build. These are seen in preview steams in seconds and are ignored and just thrown out the door anyway. TSW 2020 had higher quality day one releases. Things at DTG will never change, its a race to the bottom to see what minimum standard they can throw out and still get gamers to pay in my opinion. Glory days are well and truly over because TSW3 has not had one single decent quantity DLC release to date even after patches. The bugs are shortcuts are at an unacceptable level now imo.
One of the level crossings bugs mentioned above is at Bacharach: There's a crossing right next to the train station. The car traffic facing away from the Rhine stops when appropriate, the traffic towards the river keeps going.
It is sad but it is true :-( The other problem is that these new releases are not fixed to an acceptable level anymore.
The route is very good indeed. There are a handful of issues, almost or all cosmetic. I should be used to it by now, but somehow I'm still surprised at the inevitable reaction here.
I am talking about the 55/70/85 above. They should be blinking when under 500Hz, and depending on what blinks show you if in restricted mode, or normal mode. I am NOT talking about the 500Hz indicator, that one works correctly.
Renaming. Bingerbrück Bf, its name since 1856 and that of the suburb where it's located since the Middle Ages, was redesignated as Bingen's Hbf in 1992- but I bet most locals still used the old name five years later. The old Hbf downtown was demoted to Bingen Stadt.
I play in English, it shows "Linke Rheinstrecke", while irl, it would show the name of the train, as they are also named in the timetable.
It's a 1950s locomotive- that might be prototypical. You may have to go back there and turn them on locally.
I wouldn't call road vehicles not stopping at level crossings and passing through trains exactly "cosmetic". Nor are some of the other issues being raised. In regard to the D-Zug mentioned earlier with incorrect stock, these need some UIC BM232 - 235, AM232 - 235 long distance coaches and not just DB either, UIC stock from various countries could be seen on International trains using this route.
Bugs I noticed: BR 103 and BR 110 have the same bug as the BR 110 from BRO, with PZB indicators 55/70/85, when under 500Hz. Koblenz Track 4, Signal is inside the building, and can't be seen. several places, where cars cross despite barriers being down. Several stations, where objects are pitch black. At some station, there were modern buses parked. I doubt they existed in 1997. Some other stuff, that was already mentioned here. Trains that do not run full max line speed don't have a limit set in-game, so AI will drive way too fast. (110 running up to 160 km/h). On last few routes, those services got a max speed set, so that does not happen. Some other things I noticed: Worst performance of any route I have. BR 103 substituting on 3 services on BRO. BR 110 substituting in several modern routes. IC coaches showing always "Linke Rheinstrecke" or name in different languages instead of the name of the train (Like "Matthernorn" for example) One question: Is it possible to change PZB-mode in the BR 103? Overall I give it a 6/10 right now, If we get fixes it would go up to 9-9.5/10.
