Not really sure if it's worth me getting because out of that hole bundle there's only 5 DLCs I don't have
Me as well. Of the whole bundle the only parts I do not have and might be interested in are Birmingham and South London. Thing is - It is still a very good price. For example the "North Wales Coast Line: Crewe - Holyhead" line currenty stands at 29,99€ on steam. However, this whole bundle (that includes the North Wales line) is at €15.17 So if someone would want just that route alone, you would get it at almost 50% off on top of getting all the other content in the bundle. In my opinion that route is good enough, so anyone who was thinking about getting it at some point, then my advice is: grab it now with the bundle.
Seen this over the weekend, Steam Spring Sale 2023 starts on Thursday 16th March for 7 days, for those of you who may be interested. Cheerz. Steve.
Picked this up at the weekend. Activated the UK routes I did not have (4), and gifted some of the others to my father in law. The steam discounts have definitely been less recently, so this seemed a no brainer. May install the foreign routes at some point, but I am generally UK only. Any foreign routes in the bundle worth trying? I need to broaden my TSC horizons. Not too bothered about Freight.
DTG Spring Sale has started 16th to 23rd March https://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=Dovetail Games - Trains
35% off Birmingham Cross City... just grabbed it. Been waiting for that to have a decent discount in a sale for a while now
https://www.vulcanproductions.co.uk/electric.html It's the 323 pack, the DTG 323 is broken af (sounds) + only has one skin.. Of course you need the requirements. Edit: Forgot to paste the link... donut!
This by any chance? https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/mjt-2p49-1703-bromsgrove-lichfield-trent-valley/
As a matter of principle I do not use downloads with a massive list of requirements or buy AP products.
If you play UK content without AP’s products then you really are the one missing out. This game would have been a long time dead without AP, it’s that simple.
Would it be fair to say that because of AP’s success, we’ve seen new developers from conglomerates like ATS to individuals like yourself. Quality products made with care and attention to detail with realism at the core. When you stack these up against what DTG have produced there is simply no contest.
I'll be a lot happier when MPV2.0 has been released - and the 153/155 will be the next level again. Wish AP would hold another sale so I can pick up their second weather EP.
With the amount of disposable income I have I didn't even notice it gone let along be sorry for the loss of it, I work hard and I spend it on what I enjoy, and the Wife won't let me have [Removed - Alex - Inapprpriate content] so AP catalogue it is..
LOL That's exactly what my wife says, too! "Simming is better than being out spending the money on booze and women!"
Last i checked the Class 50, 37, 87, 313, 319, 411/412, 456, 142, 205, Mk1 Coaches, Mk2 Coaches, MFA/MHA/MTA, MGR, MKA/POA/ZKA, TIA, TTA werent exactly classed as modern stock. And thats just the full packs.
Nitpicking that doesn't change my actual point - that the TSC community is not solely made up of fans of British diesels and electrics. And stuff like the 319 absolutely is modern.
No one said it was, but do you really believe that that group of players is big enough to have justified the ongoing development of the game? I’d say that AP’s products are 50/50 modern vs older stuff anyway.
The class 319 is nearly as old as I am and as far as the British network goes can not in any way shape or form be considered modern! It's not 1st generation no, but entering service in the late 80's makes it far from modern!
When you can remember touring Crewe works and seeing class 47s being built and Swindon seeing Westerns and then teddy bears being built and even Eastleigh repairing Bulleids then 319s seem modern but they aren’t.
Please can one of you start a separate thread about the merits (or not) of AP and take the discussion there, rather than generating constant false sale item alerts by discussing it here?
My apologies for taking the current AP argument off topic but.......... 3DZug have an offer of the week, 20% off their Mega Container Pack https://www.3dzug.de/?cat=c76_Offer-of-the-week-offer-of-the-week.html
Really 35%? On my steam it is as 50% off if you buy the 'chinese edition'. So for 50% off, I could get the birmigham route on top of all the chinese and US routes:
Also, the payware Suburban Glasgow Northwest is 60% off, a bargain at £9.99. If you own the two West Highland Line routes you can get the merge from the Workshop and end up with Glasgow to Mallaig with the Oban line thrown in for good measure.
Yeah I thought it would be, but felt best to make sure. Also, crazy how you get this route for the same price as you get a pack of 8 route sthat also includes this one.
Fair enough and I'm saying that as a fan of British diesels. I've got absolutely nothing against modern American routes or rolling stock - the fact that this is not my area of interest doesn't mean it is bad TSC content.
So Essentially because AP don't do any non-UK stuff it automatically makes them a waste of money. Right. So then i guess the same can be said for RSSLO, They don't do any non-german/austrian stuff, or smokebox wheres all there non-US stuff. What i wan't to know is what did AP do to you that hurt you so much that you feel they are the bane of all existence and that people shouldn't use their stuff.
The screenshot competition regulars always moan about AP, or indeed anything that makes the sim look better. (shrug). Copium.
I think everyone has their preferences and favorite regions and it shouldn't be a big magilla. I mostly run British content, makign a small exception for American retro narrow gauge. So I probably won't buy any RSSLO items - not because I have any issues with them as a company, it just that their content wouldn't match anything I already own. The same can be said even for some of the British content. For example: I do not own or plan to buy any LMS grouping era routes/engines, as my focus is on LNER/SR and early BR (even from companies I really like such as Caledonia Works). Just a personal preference as well as a plan to focus spending my money on those new things that will work well with the content that I already own.
