Basic dates:
1974 D(B)B adopts ivory/ocean blue scheme
1987 DB adopts Orient Red for locos and "Produktfarben" for coaches
1994: DB and DR merge to form DBAG
1996: DBAG adopts Traffic Red for everything

What era was the dark green livery from?

I like it on the 139s from pictures I've seen

 

From DB's founding after the war until 1960 its default color was a very dark green, it then went to a somewhat less dark green that lasted until '74 (officially; in practice it take a long time to paint thousands of pieces of rolling stock). But you would also see dark blue on express trains and their locos (the 110s were originally dark blue); and diesel locos were dark red.

The exceptions were the TEEs, which were in their iconic beige and red livery, and the Silberlinge (n-Wagen) which until the 90s were left in unpainted stainless steel, hence the name. Oh, and dining cars were bright red.

This road is absolutely magnificent, finally "real vegetation", finally neat work, it's short but so good and then 1 hour to do the entire route is more than adequate.
I do not count in km but in game time.

This is easily a day one buy. Looks simply superb. A great route to relax and unwind on after a stressful day at work!

 

I do wish we'd get pre-order even without a discount, that way I can buy the day before and generally come home from work and it's installed waiting for me (or atleast well on its way to being installed)

 

Same here, really surprised not on pre order. Searched Steam again last night and still all that’s shown is about 20 different versions of the Trainz route!

 

What system are you using. It takes me about 20 seconds to make a purchase and after completing it, it’s already installing. It is totally unfair to offer a discount when Xbox and PS users don’t get one. Discounts and sales should be across all systems.

 

Im on PC and my broadband speeds aren't great so takes on average about an hour to install most DLC. I'm not asking for discounts just the ability to preorder on steam, so it auto installs as soon as released (around 5pm here in the UK) and is ready for me when I get home at 6pm.

Everything just suddenly seems a bit low key. Would have expected more presence on here from DTG and maybe TSG barking it up a bit. Some more screenshots, a bit of gameplay video - and imploring people to ensure they don’t buy one of the Trainz versions…

 

A good product sells itself by it's quality. That's more my philosophy. Does not need any barking and bla-blubb-Marketing. And we already did a lot of it too.

In this market, word of mouth is worth a ton of sales.
I'm on PC, so I have the luxury of reading the launch reviews in the few hours until Steam wakes up.
Barring any unforseen surprises, I'll be picking this route up tomorrow or Friday.

I think we are going to have little work with TSG. With DTG, Rivet and Skyhook we always have to work overtime.

 

This really is the 1st time since they ended the midnight release that having it would have really ment something.

Because finally a DLC worth starting your day right.

It's just a fantastic route! TSG bravo!!! Awesome job, you have set a new quality standard for TSW3 content! I'm watching the first streams on the YouTube channel and I can't take my eyes off! It annoys me every time a few youtubers get a DLC earlier and earlier.

But the track just looks great, I repeat myself. TSG sets new standards in terms of details.

 

im not agree whit you, lets stay fair, as far as i can discover in the videos! the texture work is simple.
the mappings looks simple and maybe im wrong but i dont even see a heightmap on the ballast, only a normal map.
texture work in the 628 is also very flat with unrealistic reflections.
personally. the de terms of details you can still find more in the work from DTG developers which use the full posibilities from Unreal engine.

I really think you should appreciate the doc more. They worked hard but you don't seem to appreciate the work. Niddertalbahn is worked on by like 5 people. Tsg is tiny compared to dtg so this project took them over a year. But the overall scenery quality is really good. Dtg doesn't have a route that matches the scenery. There's also a chance crossing gates will fail which dtg doesn't have. First German vintage route. It's their first route.

 

Just frustrating Steam/PC users have to wait until 1800 this evening...

Edit: And still not even listed, amongst all the Trainz flotsam.

 

Yep and out of them all you can only rely on a couple of them to actually give fair and balanced feedback.

The rest of them are need to be treated as promotional trailers, especially those who will deny the very existence of bugs in front of their very eyes.

 

i do not say that the product is bad or that the track work is not right as i have no doubts about that, and i also dont talk about all assets, but call it new standard is overdone. the texture work where i talk about are not so hard to archive. nice moment and time after te release to improve for an update

 

Sorry, but the Niddertalbahn in particular is one of the few DLCs that, after all the previews, seems to me to be the most mature and of the highest quality. Nothing is perfect, but it looks like a clean job.

And besides, which bad textures (apart from the allegedly bad textures from the track bed mentioned) do you mean?

 

Let's give everyone the right to his/ her opinion on this route.

I hope we're not in a mindset in which no one is permitted to criticise Niddertalbahn or TSG.

Right now I fully intend to buy this route at some point but I'm prepared to read both good and not so good reviews before I do.

im not complaining about the route, im enjoying it. it seems to me the destination board does not light up or i cant find a switch for it. other than this no problems for me.

Your points are valid but you're still making an unfair comparison. That sentence you made about dtg being the better dev knowing they have much more experience was unnecessary. Dtg has been creating routes since tsw2020 so they have at least 5 years of route building experience. Niddertalbahn is tsgs very first route and like I mentioned a really small team compared to dtg. So it sounds like you are implying tsg is a "worse" dev compared to dtg since dtg uses unreal to its fullest potential and can do better in German releases. Like I said in the beginning, you make good points but the last part was unnecessary in my opinion.

 

Many PC players do that intentionally with an .ini command, in order to reduce texture pop-in. The streamer may have done so.

The other stream I've looked at is only in 720p, so there's no way to judge.

 

Downloading, it's a huge download. Looking forward to play ...

its unfair to call it new standard thats where i response on, and thats why i say its not a new standard when basic texture work looks like this, DTG has the standard. and i think that you need to match atleast close with the basic assets that standard and the cabin table from the 628.
To be fair thats trainsimulator classic style texture work.

i actually dont understand why people make it bigger than it is, i never call somebody worse, bad or bad product what ever.
For sure i know that moste of the people will have fun and enjoy it all, as new hands and news styles make it a total new experience.

Not everything can be perfect im agree especially for new guys which come from an old game engine in modern game engines.
For the texture work where i response on you need one 1 man and a couple of more hours to get more magic outside it.
it doesnt matter its just a couple of extra hours which are actually nothing if you compare it with total development time which they needed to final release this product.
its not that hard , i needed to learn it to.
