DTG JD So I, like presumably many others, have been waiting patiently for the Game Pass discount to be applied to the latest DLC as per usual, and this morning, that has finally happened, but only to the three individual pieces of content, not the bundle. Is this also due to have the Game Pass discount applied, or is it otherwise exempt for some reason, and I should just purchase the bundle with the overall reduced price on it? I'm hoping so, as the original Loco Add-On Bundle had the Game Pass discount applied, maybe someone somewhere needs a little nudge?
Not all content gets a GamePass discount. For example, none of the US bundles had this discount applied, only the individual route/loco DLCs. I guess the bundles already have a discount included in their price.
Some things change. Loco bundles used to have achievements. Until they didn't. All DLCs in XBox store used to be playable on both PC and XBox. Until they didn't play on PC anymore. Bundles used to get the GamePass discount. Now they don't.
First DLC bundle is part of the TSW3 family of content, as is the second, makes no sense to change things now, but given this is DTG, anything is possible. I'm already waiting for the current DLC (Niddertalbahn: Bad Vilbel - Stockheim), to be discounted in GP, as for some reason DTG stuff always takes a few days, whereas first party content and seemingly anything else gets the discount applied immediately, so it would just be nice to know from someone at DTG (DTG Matt perhaps?), what the policy on applying the Game Pass discount is, and why, and or if, exceptions may apply.
Nothing, but when it's part of a service that offers a discount, and in these times in particular, why wouldn't you want to pay as little as possible as early as possible, outside of a sale in the future?
To support further development? If the loco bundle was my thing, I would pay fill price. Guess that's the difference between PS users and xbox
I don't know why DTG is the only developer who can't apply the GP discount at release either, everyone else seems to manage it, so it must be a conscious decision. That said, I had a £25 MS rewards voucher, so I just brought it regardless.
Just to clarify that bit. This only affected TSW2 in TSW3 I can use all my XBOX DLC on PC as well. TSW2 wouldn’t see anything from Rush Hour onwards. Personally if there is no game pass discount, then I won’t buy it. The Gamepass Discount only brings it down to the normal PS5 price anyway (in Switzerland anyway) so it’s not so much a discount as making it fairer. I totally agree that Gamepass discount should be there Day 1 otherwise you penalise the early adopters. As said, other games manage to do it. JD once told me it had to be added manually after a release and I believe him, but other Developers must, in that case, be pushing harder for it to be added. Personally I use it a a built in mechanism to force me to wait and read the reviews. But with Niddertalbahn being released today, being from TSG, it stands a good chance of being a decent DLC and I would have liked to make that a Day 1 purchase.
Hey folks. just checking: a) whether Loco Add-on Bundle will receive the discount b) if we can nudge Microsoft to get them added (if LAB will get it, and Niddertalbahn) Thanks. Would want to make sure they're added ASAP after launch, but it's not something we have a lot of control over, unfortunately.
I guess the extra one pound fifty could always go towards the staff's tea and biscuits kitty... *shrugs* This argument makes no sense.
So, being told that Loco Add-on Bundle 2 discount is live now. Microsoft have said it can take up to 2 days for the discounts to be manually applied to new releases. Not ideal, I know, but if you're seeing any discounts not appearing after those 2 days, please tag me in!
Not from where I'm sitting. On the left, the first loco bundle, discount present. On the right, the second loco bundle, no discount.
Likewise, still not seeing the discount on my end DTG JD, have refreshed the Store and rebooted my console, just in case.
It appears it's been added to the individual component parts (ROG, etc.), but not the bundle. Following up!
I'm looking at Cities Skylines and it's got add-on bundles that's been out for months without getting the GP discount. I think a GP discount on this kind of bundle that's already significantly cheaper than the individual DLCs combined would be an exception rather than the norm, like maybe as a way of getting a few more buyers. But what do I know.
Interestingly the Game Pass discount is showing up for the Niddertalbahn Route already, so consider that purchased!
