Potentially but it's not like the rest of the line is empty though.
When I said I got paid I meant I work on the trains of a company which run over this section. The 700 will definitely liven up SEHS (and hopefully BML) but I am by no means jumping up of the walls about it.

Ah right sorry I got mixed up. Do you actually work on the trains then. If so you’re even lucky than before!

It’ll be interesting to see what DTG does with the Class 700. They can’t just be planning to put it on a short(ish) stretch of SEHS, albeit I think that’s what we’ll get at first.

If they do Bedford/Peterborough/Cambridge to London I’d like to think they’d include the Thameslink Core. This would give them the opportunity to incorporate working ECTS in the game for the first time.

If they do include the core, it makes you wonder why they wouldn’t build an extra few miles of route to connect with the southern part of the route at East Croydon and down towards Brighton. I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ve got planned.

I feel like they are gearing up for a MML south as all that will be needed will be the 222s as this and the HST from skyhook MML will be able to layer.
Yes I seem to remember something like that because I had to explain to the wife (who was peaking over my shoulder) why I couldn't say my company afterwards which was a long and hard task!

    - ECML South
    - MML South
    - West Coastway (700 operates peak time-only services to Littlehampton)
    - South London Line + Thameslink Core to St Pancras
    - Oxted Line (the 700 operates peak time to East Grinstead; along with the 377, if the diesel-only branch to Uckfield was included it could be a great little route with the Class 171 too)
    - Arun Valley Line (Horsham being the terminus for Peterborough services)

Looking forward to this but as always before buying, tap the roadmap with your wand and say "Expectations Managed".

No reason to limit yourself to any particular suggestion... just all of them

That would make sense given the content that’s already in the game. Do you think it’ll be London to Bedford or go further than that? Bedford to St Pancras/Blackfriars would be a decent run.

That's the only bit you don't drive... The operator only opens and closes the doors and presses "GO"

I’m not sure if that’s fully operational yet. I’ve got a feeling it was introduced but they then reverted to manual operation. It would be good to see ECTS ATO replicated in the game, and of course, you’d still have the option for manual driving on that section too.

My thoughts on this are "if they don't do it generally in real life, don't allow us to do it in game". Of course there could be a scenario where there is a system issue and the driver takes over or similar, but it shouldn't be run of the mill

I mean it’s no different to running under LZB on KWG. 50+ miles of just pressing Q, stopping then another 50 miles of Q’ing.

(I’d argue it’s an improvement on that since it’s less distance)

Sounds fun... not... I hate "green light specials" personally.
BUT I thought that under ATO you don't even need the AWS or DSD as the train is basically driving itself? I could be wrong

Yeah I’m not a fan either, haven’t done much of KWG myself.

As for ATO, I haven’t worked with it so not sure on the safety systems, I would assume DSD at least would still need acknowledgement.

Also, there’s always been the option of not having to use LZB, so I would assume it would be the same with ATO, but generally yeah, I’d only want ATO if it came in a route with more trackage that isn’t ATO, I wouldn’t want a route specifically because it has it.

In this instance I didn't argue that as ATO is only (to my knowledge) on the core section between St Pancras and Farringdon or Blackfriars, so plenty of non ATO track on the TL routes...
Totally agreed for things like LUL or DLR where whole lines are ATO. No point having them if you don't actually control the train. Passenger Sim World 4 anyone?

it’s more of a thing of the routes, having the ability to do Horsham - Peterborough or Brighton to Bedford

I get that. For me having a "break in the middle" is neither here nor there and sortss out the complications in the middle (such as how woudl they get Farringdon to look right without an S stock...?

But then theres the TSC glasgow subway addon, which is entirely automated. So i mean, if they did that, why not do it of the thameslink core?

I wouldn't be buying that route personally
As I've said above, there's no reason they SHOULDN'T do the TL core as part of a larger route (there's no point as a standalone because it's about 1.5 miles long and four stations so not worth it just for that

I reckon London St Pancras with both the above and below ground platforms to Bedford sounds reasonable enough.

Edinburgh tram is two cars of the same type jammed back to back with a bit in the middle, the S stock is a slightly larger prospect
