Koblenz unlikely to be discounted before the July sale or even Christmas.

Best route ever. I love the new foliage, but I don't like the foliage moves even without wind. I think I could gain a few FPS if all foliage were static, my old PC is living it's last days.

One of the Bad Vilbel exit signals has for some reason hair and beard.

Mh, interesting. For me it worked on both sides and that was after changing the cabs in between two services.

What I did, no idea that helps, after I switched off the cab on the 628 side, I also switched off PZB. When I switched the 928 cab on, I went back to switch PZB back on. Never encountered any problems in this regard...

Not 10% sure, but I think the flowers in this plant only exist in spring.

    20230323222141_1.jpg

This pic was made in spring, but the berries are there in August and not much earlier. Its a tail, but is sales are good, maybe there is a budget to have a look at this.

I've been really enjoying this route so far, but I think the entry signal at Eichen when going towards Stockheim isn't quite working correctly. It always just shows Hp1, whether you're going straight through to platform 1 or when you are routed through the diverging route to platform 2. That seemed unusual to me.

On the other hand, the entry signal on the other end of Eichen when travelling towards Bad Vilbel behaves differently. When going straight to platform 1, it shows Hp1 and when going through the diverging route to platform 2 it shows Hp2. This was the behaviour I was expecting at the entry signal in the opposite direction as well.

Maybe this is how it is supposed to work, It just seems unusual to me.

I was not aware that explains why I got stopped by PZB a couple of time last night. Very helpful and something to watch out far the next runs I do.

I'd love to give feedback, but after installing NID I can't even load the game without a crash!
Have posted in tech support, so hopefully there's a fix I can try.

I wish there was an option to pay a few extra pounds to get the ai layers on a route.
Obviously they wouldn't be playable or appear in scenario planner but just to have the rolling stock passing by is so nice and I don't want to buy the rhein route which I consider poor value at the moment.

I got PZB and SIFA working when I arrived at Stockheim by switching the valves on and off and on again :’) Now sitting in the motorised car, not sure if that matters

It was also hard for me the first time, but after you play the route a few more times you will be able to do it. Usually aim to reach the start of the platform at 40Km/h and then brake as needed. The unit is not very powerful, so apply full power when you depart (unless it is raining, snowing, etc).

Thanks for that- a perfect summary of everything you need to know I think. I wish more routes came with similar.

Agreed, I actually really like the utilization of journey mode in this route. It is strictly limited to scenarios and services themed after the chapter title, so you can select your own service in the timetable if you just want to have an ordinary train ride. Journey mode should be used to show the player the unique things and services on the route.

Not sure if I agree… let me honk (or not) whenever I want :D I don’t want to be forced to honk as a rather casual player.

Aye, fair enough :) Maybe separate Casual and Git Gud Modes - with all safety systems on - whichever suits your gaming mood on a particular day, would be a nice idea ;)

Same. Linke Rheinstrecke is not really up to the standard I would want, but it would be great to have the rolling stock layering in to the Niddertalbahn. Well, maybe after a few patches of bugfixes it will be good enough that I will be happy to buy it.

The biggest German release since TSW3 launch and people are like "I only want to get it for the AI layer on my lovely little route" :D and I completely agree with that sentiment. That big is the gap between Niddertalbahn and LRS...

Agreed! Though I feel for the people who worked hard on Linke Rheinstrecke and seemingly didn’t get nearly enough time to make something they can be truly proud of.

Oh, I remember that on their Tehachapi Pass II route set in the 90s. Caught me out quite often as I didn’t know much about US railroads back then.

New minor things I just noticed (all on PS4):
    • Niddertalbahn doesn’t seem to have an image for the “Resume Last Played” tile in the main menu, would be great if they could set the wonderful route cover art to appear there!
    • Some of the stickers in the BR 365 cab, most notably the no smoking signs near the top of both doors, seem to be bugged on PS4, with big black shadow squares appearing on them in many occasions.
    • The remote control device in the BR 365 cab has the new DB logo on it.
    • In the BR 628, the door open slider seems to be mislabeled in the HUD. The actual sticker texture in the cab is perfectly fine, but the game HUD has open door left and right mixed up. Tested this in the tutorial and in timetable mode.
    • Medal thresholds for the service prep timetables seem to be impossible to reach. The 5:50 Stockheim prep only gave me 523 AP, while the gold target is 950. Your only task there is to drive a few hundred meters and then stop, so I don’t know how the gold medal score could ever be reached. Same for the next Stockheim prep at 6:21.
    • The single manual junction on the path of the 6:21 Stockheim service prep appears to be set incorrectly and has to be manually adjusted by the player. Could be intentional gameplay design, but noting it nonetheless in case it isn’t.
    • Front exterior texture of the BR 628 appears to be a bit rough on PS4, with noticeable shadow “teeth”/triangles on the left and right edge of the unit when viewed head-on. Encountered this in the Hugging Trees scenario. This scenario had rainy weather, don’t know if that contributed to the issue.
    • The engine revs etc. only appear in the HUD if you’re driving the powered car, and not in the 928.
    • The BR 628 interior lights do indeed look quite dim/dark when viewed from the outside at night.
    • Does the indicators dimmer in the 628 do anything? Not noticing any brightness changes when turning the little knob.
    • The 628 headlights are extraordinarily dim at night, although that may be realistic for the 1990s.
    • The “spiky” and triangular black texture artifacts I talked about in my original feedback comment also appear in the front, middle and rear interior hallway sections (with the green walls) of the 628 when viewed from a distance (such as when peeking through the windows with the exterior freecam).

A bug which I have noticed after completing several trips on the route one after another is that the AI trains seem to display headlights on both ends regardless of which direction they are travelling. The AI units that are seen at Stockholm that go towards Gelenhausen seem to be fine however. I think this something to do with the fact that they disapear 'off the map' so as a result spawn correctly when they re appear.
The units that shuttle back and fourth however seem to have this headlight issue presumably because they stay on the map.
This is not the first time I've seen this and often re occurs when trains don't leave the map but are running back and fourth all the time.
As its not the first time this has happened surely there is a way to fix this as it certainly breaks the immersion when passing AI trains at stops???

A consistent issue with German trains, in particular, in TSW3 with the new lighting is that tail lights are too bright and too pale, so they come out as pastel pink (and hard to tell from headlights).

Unless I'm mistaken, it seems like TSG have forgoten to program the engine shut off or am I doing something way wrong? Notice that AI stabled trains have their engines on.

Judging by videos, the textures seem kinda week for certain assets. Some buildings and especially the roads are way too clean and lack any detail/weathering. One thing that also sticks out is that the track ballast does not seem to have the 3D feel to it that other TSW track ballast have?

All engines that need to move at some point in service mode are started in TSW1, 2 and 3. This is because the game hasn't got the core tech needed to have a start up procedure for each loco. It is in the list of nice things to have, but it is not in the roadmap nor does it look like is gonna be any time soon.

BR 628 - The reverser gets stuck permanently in the reverse position if the player makes a mistake and moves the reverser to "reverse" while the the train is going forward and throttle is not at 0.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Set reverser forward.
    2. Release brakes.
    3. Set throttle to 3 and wait until the train starts moving.
    4. Press "s" on the keyboard until the reverser goes into the reverse position.

The reverser will now be locked permanently in the reverse position.

Additional notes: Used timetable service RB (7063) Stockheim - Bad Vilbel to do the test.

    BR 628 service 7055 - Stockheim - Bad Vilbel.

This is a 4 car service. When arriving to Altenstadt station, the stop marker is not placed far enough in the platform and leaves half the train out of the platform and before it fully passes the semaphore that controls the junction.

    RB (7055) - 2.jpg

Please note that I stopped 15m past the stop marker in the following screenshot, so if I had stopped where I should the train would be even more out of the platform.

    RB (7055) - 1.jpg

IMPORTANT: Please note that if this service was used to create other services in the timetable via copy/paste by the dev team there might be more services with the same problem.

In this case there definitely seems to be an issue with the light setup again. I've encountered several AI trains that clearly had headlights on in both the front and the rear, at least after changing ends at one of the termini. When I boarded one of them the switch was turned to "headlights" in both cabs.

Well, Niddertalbahn has already very positive reviews and if you list TSW DLC by Reviews, its first, followed by, the 465 and TSGs G6 :D. Very deserved, i thought Rheinstrecke would take the place of my new favourite, but Niddertalbahn came and didnt just took a step up, it climbed a ladder ;)

In the BR365 tutorial the word tankers is used. It is OK to re-use tutorial scenarios, but please make sure the texts spoken are correct. In the impage below you see the transcirpt, it is spoke like this also.

If AI is driving this service, it also stops incorrectly. As I was driving the other service in this meet, the AI stopped on that marker, but it DID give me green light anyway.

For the BR628 introduction you cannot get a gold medal. You need 2000 points. I got 1956 points, loosing max 10 point for not hitting the stopping point exactly.

Happy to see TSG devs are human.;) Despite all these bugs we love this route I think and you can be proud of your team.

This Route just is absolutely FANTASTIC!

After watching 'Schnauzahpowahz' review yesterday, I couldn't resist and purchased the route. (For those who don't know, Schnauzahpowahz normally is very critical at DTG products) but when even he did say that this route is close to being worth 40$/36€ there has to be something about it. And there certainly is.

I dont really have words for how impressed i am. Im playing this with a constant smile on my face. Its really that wonderful with all the foliage and the details that let you travel back in time and experience a gone era of german railroading. its almost like you forget that you are playing TSW tbh. And talking about the 628, this thing is a gem. Its so nice to drive and just feels right in terms of physics. These things aren't known for being rapid and you get why.

The only problems i noticed so far are that the passengers behave strange at some occasions, but that has not spoiled my immersion so far and is a known problem anyway.

Beside that, i absolutely Love this route !

Thanks to the hole TSG Team, its awesome to get hooked into a route DLC like this, something i haven't had in a long time.

    Cheers.

    Hi,

I noticed there is a Bü 0 signal before arriving to Gronau when driving to Bad Vilbel. It seems to be always "off" (so never "Bü 1") and there is no PZB magnet with it. What is its purpose ? The first time I encoutered it I slowed down, expecting a malfunctioning level crossing when in reality there is nothing between this signal and Gronau ? Did I miss something ?

In the scenario Hugging Trees the stopping point in Altenstadt is not correct. I stopped 25 m past the stopping point, but the rear of the train does not yet enter the station.

Same question, which I asked on Discord. Perhaps a crossing was removed at some point, or the Bü signal is placed in error. So I think it's possibly a bug.

In the scenario Hugging Trees, after the emergency stop, no instruction is given. I inspected the tree and set up the train to return to Altenstadt. It went fine, but just before the bridge the brakes triggered and completely refuse to release again. BP=0, BC=2.7.

Did I miss something here or is this a bug?

I did not completely follow the instructions. Before changing ends I removed the reverser, set the brake to off, removed the brake key, set the lights as they should be.
