Passenger schedule is not busy, but there is crazy timetable. Rarely without delay. Is the timetable a prototype? I drove DB 143 (very hard for me) in heavy snow and still slipping. Due to 20 minutes delay, I brake too slowly, over than 20m. I turn off the game. I am poor at English. I want to say: It's ridiculous. A problem with staying on time is the braking curve. It needs to be as short as possible. Icy weather will always make this curve longer. The in-game timetables, like those in the real world, are not designed for this weather. It is perfectly normal to be behind in these conditions.
When under adverse weather conditions, reduce “traction brake effort” control to around 70% (this may vary but the wheels will stop slipping when you get it right) that would help with delays in adverse conditions though their are services in TSW what have unrealistic timetables (they are automated using the game instead) their not ideal and tend to be unfair to player
It's hard to tell some times, some companies cancel just as many services when they aren't on strike.
It was a joke but more seriously since the COVID it’s hard to get the pre-pandemic schedule with that many drivers missing
I use 40% traction effort to start from a stop, then at 30km/h increase tractive effort to 50-55% and go 75-80% when I'm at 70km/h. Driving like this I always manage to be on time with the timetable. For braking with the 143, I usually use Notch 2-3 depending on the gradient. At 120km/h, I start to slow down at 1km from the marker. Without a steep gradient you should be around 40km/h when reaching the station. To keep tracking the speed, I know that I should be around 80km/h at 500m from the marker, and around 60/km/h when I'm at 300m from the marker. So, to clear things up: 160km/h ------ 1,5km 120km/h ----- 1km 100km/h ------ 800m 80km/h ------ 500m 60km/h ------ 300m I use those distances to start braking, with all german trains. Some trains apply more or less brakes so it isn't always notch 2, practice makes perfect.
After I searched on youtube. I still unsure how to drive the DB 143 correctly, especially stopping. Is this speed chart reasonable? Drive like a madman. Almost on time, but the stopping distance is terrible. Do you dare to ride this train?
Do it a lot, you will see you start driving more accurately. Yes, sometimes it feels like a lot of stress.
