The DB BR 628 is a great train, very well built with a lot of love from TSG. And to get the most out of it travelling at 120 km/h I have just done a service on the Rhine to Koblenz. The great visibility in the driver's seat has made me enjoy this route much more than on the BR 103 or BR 110, thanks to the better views and being able to appreciate many details of the route that I had missed. Only 4 stops in 64 kms and just over an hour of driving, passing through narrow villages and castles with a great sense of speed, and the mighty Rhine as a fellow traveller just a few metres away. Add in plenty of extra oncoming traffic, freights trains pulling out of the way and the dynamic weather changing from rainy to clear, and the result is one of the best experiences so far in four years of playing TSW! I recommend it to everyone, and if you don't have Linke Rheinstrecke try the 628 on other routes with the scenario planner, there are already many scenarios in Creators Club for this train. Niddertalbahn suits it very well, but this little wonder deserves to stretch its legs a bit! And now a little thought. Thanks to everyone who makes this game possible and who, with their efforts, make it a little better every day. It's true that sometimes it feels like we're taking a few steps backwards, but if we look back we can see how much TSW has grown. What a pity that DTG can't or won't go that extra mile that always separates it from excellence. They just need to take a little more care of the releases with fewer bugs and glitches, or at least fix them as soon as possible. They should be more transparent in their communications, not look for excuses and take advantage of the luck of having a great passionate community behind them. Look at TSG, who always try to strive for perfection and who with Niddertalbahn have given us a lesson on how a project made with love and passion can result in something so beautiful. We are all in the same boat and want the best for this game that is all about trains. So many people could look at us and not understand why we are so passionate about them, but that's the way it is and we can't help it. I don't even want to, I already have grey hair but doing the tour I described at the beginning of this post or driving between Stockheim and Bad Vilbel in spring I felt like a kid. Long live TSW!
A thoughtful post and I agree with much of it. But I can't accept that the game is getting " a little better every day ". I don't think it has yet fulfilled the promise of 2017 and Heavy Haul/SPG. I think that, ever since Rush Hour, TSW has been on a plateau and whether it will go up or down is anybody's guess. Certainly, recent efforts have not been encouraging, Niddertalbahn aside. Let's hope that that route does not become an outlier.
