I didn't realise it was meant to be delivered by March. Thought it was quite some time off from the Megasim PR videos. So I feel from previous delays/push backs this should be rolled back for a may-june release. It's a sensible delay that can help get the team more time to work on the route and deliver there vision. I don't want to see the same mess we usually get where one area of the route is better than the other.
Class 150/2 a good example of what you speak of and given it’s still a mess year in I’ll be getting rid of 150/2 for 158 in west Cornwall local when released
So DTG convince SHG to delay release. Given the poor standards of recent DTG releases then I can only imagine the mess it just be in for it to be deemed below standard.
In all fairness to skyhook Cannot be any worse than rivets class 150/2 though given Cummins engine we can live in hope and see what’s said tues in roadmap stream
It's amazing isn't it DTG just come up with a nonsense excuse such as release days are programmed in with platform holders far in advance so the release date can't change But they can change it if its a Skyhook route and other developers don't seem to have any issues. Reality, it's release their DLC on time regardless of state its in and fix it later...much, much later
From LondonMidland on the MML thread "We’ve been doing everything we can to make sure we get both the HST & 158, as well as the route, as accurate as possible, as we know you guys have high expectations. Obviously we aren’t going to get everything 100% perfect, due to x, y & z reasons, but we’re hoping you guys will enjoy this one. I’ve had my own little inputs for the route too, assisting on anything which I can, which I thoroughly enjoy. Not to mention that it’s my local line " *another user* Sorry if I’ve missed anything but has your hard work paid off and you’re now helping DTG/Skyhook with bits and bobs? LondonMidland - Yes. I’ve been beta testing this route with several others, as well as providing references, suggestions and information. Obviously can’t share route specific details or anything but I’m happy with how it’s been handled and progressing.
Given that this is a local route to LondonMidland and his high standards generally. Then this is really positive and has raised my hopes for this route.
Since I read about londonmidland participating in the project, the entire route became increasingly interesting to me immediately
Absolutely correct. But don't forget the disastrous DB 187 by Skyhook..... Probably the worst loco DLC for TSW ever created. Anyway, thats not the point here, when i read that this route is being postponed, my initial thoughts where that is has to be in an bad state when DTG stops it. Remembering in which state they released New York - Trenton, Imagine that Midlands Mainline has to be even worse than that. So its good they taking more time. We had enough rushed Route DLC. Looking forward to see the preview Stream, maybe Skyhook translated their great US Routes into something great on this side of the big lake. Never say never.
It is very good news it has been delayed, now the delay must be used well. Not just to fix the other items that were mentioned but to space out the preview streamS so we get to see the route properly before release.
This sounds very promising, my excitement for the route initially was not that great if honest but is certainly much more interesting now - also really hoping for some of the same Class 37 ROG services from SEHS as that would be a superb addition to the timetable. A quick question regarding SEHS, but was it confirmed if St Pancras would get AI HSTs from MML?
Very interested to see what londonmidland is doing with the route. Very impressed with his work - even though I can’t benefit from it on my PS5.
He’s providing feedback as a tester I believe. So he’s clearly played around with the route. He’s not just talking from concept work.
I am all for the delay of that means it's going to release in our quality state and not be bug written like some of dovetails recent DLCs have been Even though they fix them and I'll give them credit for that I still really don't like the idea of release it now fix it later not a good strategy if you want to maintain customers
Delaying a good idea, this month steady flow of so many releases in such a short time is really tough on more then a few bank accounts and since routes and assorted new dlc cost more it doesn't help.Besided the 2 new train in this route don't pack alot of wow factor anyway theres already numerous trains in the game that are similar anyway.
Yes I definitely agree tues roadmap will be interesting as if the DTG post correct and we see roadmap tues we should finally get release date given jd said yesterday looking at release in April sometime after Easter and given roadmap streams only monthly now that ties in with Tuesday been roadmap day I must admit I do like the idea of the class 158 been the Cummins original engined 158 and if done right to sprinter standards ie not the tumble dryer insult class 150/2 from rivet then the 158 will permanently replace useless 150/2 in Cornwall local also it will be interesting to see which of the 158 cabs we get ie the grotty old British rail one or the modern one with round buttons also I would hope given there’s a few between Nottingham Derby long Eaton etc that we also get fully animated level crossings
I am very much looking forward to the VP 185 HST and the 158 and they are both much more interesting than a lot of the things in game. I wouldn't say they were too similar to anything else (even the HST is different to the one we've already got).
As said above I meant VP 185 engined HSTs rather than the current GWR HST in game that has MTU engines.
The title of this thread made me smile, and it really could have applied to any recent route. Just about all of them should have been delayed a month or so for tweaking and polishing. Okay let’s say 2 or 3 months for NYC. Glad to see MML is getting some extra TLC though.
I think the only exception is the Niddertalbahn, I haven't seen any real negative reviews on that. Mostly just inconveniences at best
