Do we know when the route is set?
It's possible it's before that building?

  2. Idk why people think this is a delay when i knew all along it would be a April DLC so no news to me

That building looks very 1960's or 1970's to me.

Although I imagine the Leicester skyline would look very much better without it!

Funny that since you’re always around to complain about DLC release times, even though they’ve been the same for a while now.

Most British skylines would look better without 1960's or 1970's buildings......

Wonder if the route has been recalled to work on the 158 a bit more, given the very public concerns about sound and physics. I say, delay until May or even June if that helps get it right.

Also off at a tangent, information on the Peak Forest route or indeed the supposed forthcoming steam physics improvements have dropped right off the radar.

We’ve been doing everything we can to make sure we get both the HST & 158, as well as the route, as accurate as possible, as we know you guys have high expectations.

Obviously we aren’t going to get everything 100% perfect, due to x, y & z reasons, but we’re hoping you guys will enjoy this one.

I’ve had my own little inputs for the route too, assisting on anything which I can, which I thoroughly enjoy. Not to mention that it’s my local line :)

Sorry if I’ve missed anything but has your hard work paid off and you’re now helping DTG/Skyhook with bits and bobs?

Yes. I’ve been beta testing this route with several others, as well as providing references, suggestions and information.

Obviously can’t share route specific details or anything but I’m happy with how it’s been handled and progressing.

Yes I am interested to see what they are going to do with the Peak Forest route and how they will market it!

I agree I would prefer a delay if it means getting details correct, or a complete timetable cough Trenton cough!

Yes absolutely, Leicester like many others is a medieval town/city in history only.

Didn't happen with West Cornwall Local which was the last high profile delay but hopefully this is different. Encouraging words from
londonmidland. If he is happy, I'm sure a lot of us will be too.

Wasn't that to add the, in my opinion, rather pointless extra track to St. Austell?

It's set in 2019, before it was a hotel it was the home of BT back in the 80s and 90s so it's been there decades

Great news that LondonMidland is involved, we all know that he has a keen eye for detail.
Hopefully they've introduced a more realistic speed sign set (correct font). A small but needed extra detail for UK routes, in my eyes anyway.

I don't think so. Don't you remember, they accidentally released it on xbox before pulling it and then the rest of us had to wait the extra time? Was because of a number of various QC issues if I remember rightly.

To be honest I think it's high time DTG were braver about postponing releases so they can fully commit to their launch stream .Must be disheartening seeing how they're received just because they were rushed out for accountant deadlines.

I have far more consumer respect for "we will aim to release in April" with more polish. It's far better than "if you don't like don't buy".

On the basis of this approach to release I wish them all the best and hope to see a good blend of stock and services

Though dissapointing, i think delaying this route was the best decision to make in the long run. Because these routes rarely ever get updated post release so it's best to get in as much development time as possible before being forgotten about forever

It shows a city that was bombed during the second world war I'm afraid..... Not just London that had the Blitz but Coventry, Leicester, Sheffield, Hull to name but a few. My own city of Sheffield has blocks that were untouched and remain Victorian or earlier and others that were totally razed and were rebuilt in the 60s.

The 158 doesn't look too bad but it needs the passenger and door windows correcting. In reality you cannot see in through them as they are tinted quite a lot.

I thought it was because of a serious bug affecting the fact that doors would open randomly while going along or something?
I'm sure there was a real bad bug in the preview stream

Pleased that MML has been pushed back, we don’t need another poor route like WCL. The delay gives the developers Skyhook Games more time. Their routes so far have been top class.

Glad to see it's in safe hands!
Just praying to the gods it's an manual timetable and not an AI one!

(Rivet did good changing it from AI to rounded up 00/30 timetable!)

That is true- but nothing required 1960s architects to make the cities look worse than the Luftwaffe did.

It is looking very good, I just so wish it was a route that appealed more or even more complete start and end points. 100% yes for the ScotRail layers from me too!

No precisely, they demolished many still intact buildings in Coventry to build the awful modernist city centre.

There is an old saying in Birmingham, what the Luftwaffe started, Frank Price and the city council finished off.

It was indeed originally Truro, however the decision to extend to St Austell was made soon after the route was announced, the DLC was delayed at the 11th hour due to some game breaking bugs and potentially being released in an unfinished state. Xbox users were able to purchase it though due to the delay getting...er...delayed on Xbox stores.

Leicester didn't suffer bombing to the extent other cities in the midlands did, the obliteration of our city was caused by the council after the war, especially to build the horrendous Haymarket shopping centre.

Knowing that DTG and AP are implementing the sounds is reassuring to hear. Their Cummins 158 sounds are some of the best they've made, and the VP185 HST should sound as epic as it does in real life. It's also great to know that Londonmidland is helping out with testing and feedback.

I get the impression DTG and Skyhook know this is a route they need to get right. Both the HST and 158s are fan favourites so if the end result turns out subpar (like Rivet's 150), they'll never hear the end of it.

If this route turns out well, it may well be the only route I play for some time. It has the potential to be really great.

I'd also really like to see Rivet's railtour Jubilee layer onto the route. The Jubilees had a strong presence on the MML when they were in service so there's no modern route in the game more appropriate for them.

I think steam and diesel railtours would be a really nice addition to this, as well as the ROG drags and any and all appropriate freight with the Class 66.

You could make the railtours seasonal as well so they don't become repetitive. My only ask is that they take place in the daytime (unlike the railtours on Brum Cross-City) so we can see the scenery too!

(PS. Please remember to tick the substitution box for the much-forgotten Class 33 in the diesel railtour as it would be so nice to drive it at more than 25mph without having to resort to scenario planner!)

The 158 is super fun and nice to drive. :)

I had a nice late night ECS drive with it, which in itself contained some interesting moves. I won't spoil the surprise though ;)

    Cool, you playtesting?

I am kinda hoping Toton Depot and some nioce freightruns are in the route. Hopefully. I mean how can you do Derby Nottingham and Long Easton? AND not include Toton TMD!

You'll have to wait and see as to what is and isn't included with the route :)

Thanks for sharing, just hope the NDA police aren’t about to send Tony Soprano round to sort things out…

Seriously, I’m now glad I refunded West Rhine and Trenton/Acela as it sounds like this will be a far more satisfying experience. Day One confirmed here.

To make the route interesting for freight too, i would be very surprised if toton isnt included. Thats the kind of decisions, which makes the route from the usual a2b "good" to brilliant.

Currently tsw needs a few surprises.

I think the 158 will be fine and I like dmu's, even Sprinters.

But is the route itself that interesting?

A few " football specials " might spice up the timetable.
