I doubt it, Peak Forest was very much WIP on the Festival teaser.

I expect MML was only pushed back a few weeks to a month at most.

My wallet will be grateful for the lack of imminent DLC! So far in 2023 the releases have been pretty intense and we have already seen the best and the worst of what TSW can offer.

Likelihood is midland mainline be out after Easter looking at it logically other day jd said in post it’s April release sometime after Easter so it’s highly likely to get date Tuesday given that’s April roadmap day and that there’s only 1 roadmap a month vs the old fortnightly road map system

I wouldn't expect Peak Forest until the summer at least, when it was announced it was a work in progress whereas Midland Mainline was far along in progress.

TBH my wallet breathed a sigh of relief as after the initial hype, Niddertalbahn was the only one really worth getting at full price. MML looks as if it will be Day One and Peak Forest probably too, even if starting the route from Ambergate instead of Derby is a bit like starting WCML South at Harrow & Wealdstone.

Same for me, Niddertalbahn was gonna be a day one purchase for me but finances mean I have to make other priorities but it's still on the must have list for me, MML and Peak Forest will be day one purchases though.

Any more news on Peak Forest please, Matt. Eagerly awaited even if it hasn’t been possible to add Derby.

And yes, MML is on my Day One list following the positive feedback about 158 sounds, hoping there will be more “Regional Railways” routes to take full advantage of finally having this unit in TSW.

Agreed, DTG missed a trick with Skyhook doing MML Leicester to Nottingham and Derby, they could've opted to stretch Peak Forest beyond Ambergate to Derby, even if set in different eras.

delays are always worth it and should never be hesitated. for example i’m so happy we had the delay for BCC as the newer lighting at new street was a substantial difference so i’m happy for stuff to take longer if done to a better standard

Are you able to confirm the sound is accurate to what a class 158 sounds like.

As i've said, the sounds are sourced from AP and the physics are done by a combination of our in house team and the developer who did all the physics for the popular Amtrak Acela add-on (and a few others).

Whether it hits the mark or not, is for you to decide when you see/hear it for yourself tbh.

    Matt.

He said it sounds like a 158. Anyway I'm sure you'll be able to hear it on YouTube from the people that get freebies like The British Ace. Won't be long now!

Hope the Peak Forest route gets the repainted green diesels (45+111) we’ve been clamouring for on the forums, to give a real 1960s feel to the route, and a truer representation of period stock and services. After all, it ain’t Peak Forest without a “Peak” hehe. ;)

So do I mate, in actual fact my purchase is dependent on it. Not having these in this route would be like an 70s ECML without Deltics or a modern WCML without 390s for me.

Same here. From what we know about it so far we have a route starting at an obscure rural junction where most trains on the route didn't stop, three steam engines but without what had become the dominant form of traction for the route in the period set and a branch line with either no local passenger train or some kind of mashup presumable of a 4F with some mark 1's which were front line express coaches at that stage and certainly wouldn't have been plying their trade on a rural branch line.

Still in a modern route even the ballast has to be the right colour it would be nice if they made an effort to make some of the period routes realistic.

Are we ever going to get any DLC for SOS, it's timetable I would say is in a more dire state then the one for the Trenton route.

Second that. Never was a route launched with so much fanfare, then allowed to drop right to the bottom (apart from maybe Clinchfield) of the forgotten DLC department. Not only are we still waiting for the spurious SPAD fixes and better steam physics plus proper manual firing, DTG have absolutely squandered the opportunity to make a mint with several potential add on packs or even a route extension.

I won't be purchasing any steam or steam routes again until the steam engine physics, bugs and AI sound are fully fixed and working properly.

It is amazing is it not? With so many possibilities for interesting loco DLCs that add true value and immersion to existing routes, why do just we get a bunch of repaints? The ROG 37 is I grant you a little better than sticking on a rainbow stripe, but where the heck are all the new locos and stock?

The last time DTG commented on loco DLC’s was basically to say that they don’t sell well, so they don’t do them.

Of course since then DTG has increased the cost to £14.99, so not exactly going to help, I doubt they weren’t selling well because they were too cheap.

Im not against the idea of loco packs in the current format, since they can add to the experience of a route. DTG just need to get it right and actually make them add to the routes unlike how they handled this latest pack (very little versatility of the repaints).

I would also absolutely sacrifice these packs if they are replacing loco DLC’s. We need more trains in TSW, and there’s no way around that fact.

I am with you on this. With SoS still in bad shape, and doesn't look like it's ever going to get fixed. I have very little faith in the Peaks route, As DTG are bound to be using SoS's core program.
As for loco packs. I personally would love to see new loco dlc's produced for existing routes. I want to have the variety like TSC has.

I would be interested to know how well the Acela sold. In any case they are selling trains to train lovers, so a well-researched and well-made loco DLC should sell well enough. If they are basing their decisions on packs like Diesel Legends of the Great Western, that was 100% repaints, with some very questionable decisions in that particular pack. Some add-ons will always sell better than others, but TSW is in a sense virtual railway modelling, and people like to collect and feel immersed. So bring on those loco DLCs and we’ll buy ‘em!

Diesel Legends was an oddity at best, a selection of assets quite out of their era on a route set to a rather odd time stamp anyway, with a DMU type rarely seen working along the Thames Valley.

However, the 40's for NTP and 20's/31's for TVL were a superb example of good route appropriate loco DLC which any self respecting fan of the era would pick up in a heartbeat.

As regards SoS, as I said earlier where is the local passenger pack with maybe a BR Standard Class 4 tank or 75xxx tender loco and some LMS Period coaching stock. A Jinty for shunting duties. And, to rattle my old soapbox again, in the intervening period since release, surely someone in the 3D modelling and art department could have been tasked with making a buffet car.

Sportsman's bet - what's the odds when Peak Steam does release, the passenger formations will still not convey any type of catering car.
