So, I bit the bullet and bought Bremen Oldenburg with a 30% discount. Ran an ICE 1 service from Oldenburg to Bremen so far and have to say the route is a nice little route. However, I think the micro-pauses and stutters are the worst of any route so far. So much so that some of them cause a little bit of audio distortion - which I haven’t experienced on any other route that I’m consciously aware of. Going to have more of play with it to see if it was just that one trip.
From my experience the ICE runs had more stutters since they are another service that runs in the regular timetable with IC, freight, RE and RB
If you have most (if not all) of the German content Locos and Rolling stock its a very interesting route as you see a multitude of locos including the 101 DB Red 155 as well as the stunning Blue Press 155. the ICE 1 also the BR103 can sub in doing the job of the 101 on the ecs (about a coaches consisting of N Wagen, IC and a Dosto coach) That's when I got the idea for doing the Rail Adventure 103 (although it's a few years too early as this route is set in 2009 I believe) but its all good. The variation of traffic and if like me you are a budding artisté then you can also give one of the barges a lick of paint in Livery designer and hopefully spot it passing you on one of the rivers that you cross over. My one I have seen parked up once and passed by twice. Also the little bits parked in the yard that adds to the route as well. For instance I found the single Falns wagon in a siding at Bremen. |Like you I found the micro stutters a wee bit of a pain on the PS5, they kind of remind me of Cathcart Circle and its sturrs which is awful. Livery substitution works well on here as well. Also If you have the Mainz - Kobblenz the 110 from there subs in on the 110 services. If you also have all 3 German Shunters they sub in as well. Actually not sure about the G6. I think its the 363 and 204 that sub in. It really is an enjoyable route and well worth a buy even with the stutters. I think the only gripe about the route is they should have included the container port and yard / sidings. Hentis
I’m being tripped up by SIFA quite a bit in the 110 as the alarm is hard to hear. Will have to concentrate more. What is the maximum power level of the 110 before it throws a fuse? I haven’t managed to do that yet.
Just done freight service EZ 51565 using the 110 and only managed to score 3,768 AP getting a silver medal. To get gold, I needed 3,900 AP. Didn’t speed and only lost 2 points at the stopping point. Has anyone got gold on this?
I’m sure I went up to 71kN at one point and was still able to keep going. I’ll bear 65kN in mind though. Thanks
I usually goto tap 4 and then leave it about a minute then notch it up in groups of 4 from then onwards. Hentis
not sure if it’s particular services or not but I also got a similar occurrence and I doubt it was that exact service, so possibly an issue with all freight similar to when it occurs with all depot Edit: I had a look into the service that caused the same issue, it was EZ51565 at 09:16, BR110, (for reference I only scored 3770, 130 short of gold) I haven’t checked other services so quite the coincidence it’s the same service, perhaps it is that service causing issue, though I did think they were a lot more freight with that loco on that route or originally, however when looking then I can see only 2
I have to say I really like this route. Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of stutters in my case. I am positively surprised by the stable 70-100 fps that I get running everything on ultra (minus the dumb sky of course) and 200% screen. Wish it had at least a short branch since it is so only 40km long if I am not mistaken but I like shorter runs over longer ones. I enjoyed running between Boston and Providence for the same reason. About forty minutes and it is done so it is quite easy to actually learn the route and the limits and braking points.
The first time through a route is always the worst, because the system is busy caching assets. On subsequent runs the problem is reduced (unless you re-install or otherwise clear the cache)
Did the same with a 5 pound voucher from playstation stars on top. Nice little route good one to play if you have a little bit of spare time to fill as well. Done a couple of scenarios and services on it so far. Bremen is quite FPS heavy on PS5 sadly not as bad as Victoria was but a few tweaks and optimisation be more than happy with it especially at that price.
That's actually not what that label means. What it is supposed to represent is the maximum electric brake effort. If you take a look at the effort gauge you can see that the tractive effort is measured in kN/FM (force per traction motor) while the brake gauge is a unitless 0-100. That brake gauge is percentage of max effort, which is 65 kN or 6.5 Mp. The maximum tractive effort is probably around 70 kN/FM (nominal is 275 kN total) but effort is not really what is the limit but motor current (3500 A is the maximum before the motorstromrelais trips). I should note that the traction and electric braking physics are not correct in this loco so don't expect that EB7 will show 65/4 kN etc.
No, it is definitely electric current. Both motor current (Motorstrom) and current collector current (Oberstrom) have (IRL, not ingame) relays that trip depending on different thresholds. The rated max currents are 3500 A and 420 A respectively (although I've been told that it will usually trip closer to 440 A).
Spent more time on the route. The micro-pauses and stutters aren’t improving on my PS5. Starting service RB14812 in the 110 at Bremen was much like starting up at Victoria on London Commuter. Very laggy with everything in slow motion. Definitely the worst performing route in my opinion since London Commuter (which has improved since release). The wiper on the 110 might as well not be there. It reaches its end point just at your field of view, so your field of view is never actually cleared. Once it started raining, with dynamic weather turned on, pretty much couldn’t see very much afterwards. The exploration continues…
The seat isn’t quite in the right place and the head height is probably a bit off too. This makes the train’s tiny wipers even more of a problem and we can’t shift our head like a real driver would to get a different view.
I have just bought this as well but I’m not expecting too much from the route when I get round to playing it. I’ve got it mainly for the trains and the interesting services it has. The route itself looks quite dull to me but I’ll have to see if it I get a lot of use out of it over the next couple of months. I watched the preview/launch stream from DTG when deciding if to get it in this sale or not. The 110 and cab car won’t be new to me because I have them in the Rhine route already but I do think the livery this looks nicer and they are longer trains so driving will be different enough. I’m looking forward to having a blue 155 to drive too.
The BR110 cab does have a transformer (Oberstrom) ammeter. It's the gauge to the side of the OHLE voltage gauge. For the motor current that's actually not something that is visible in the cab that is simulated in the game. The older cab do have ammeters for each motor but not the new ones (afaik). So drive it realistically you have to rely on the tractive effort gauge (and seat of the pants feel). This is what a real world driver told me: When stationary tap index 8 will achieve slightly below 3500A, tap 9 will trip the motor over current relay. When accelerating 60 kN/FM is "safe" while 70 kN/FM will probably trip the relay or at least it is so close to the edge that it is really easy to overshoot when notching up. Stay below 60 kN/FM and you are safe (not necessarily in the game because I think the physics here is not correct). When you exceed 40 km/h the main current starts to become the limiting factor. Iirc 60 km/h in tap 24 is safe and 80 km/h in tap 26 is right below the limit. When I say "safe" I mean that it won't trip the relay, it might still be regarded as aggressive driving that will cause wear on the components, but I'm not knowledgeable about those sort of things when it comes to this locomotive. The cab car do have motor current gauges, but instead lack main current gauges. In either case you will probably lack all the information that is required to avoid any relays tripping and instead you have to rely on experience (but this is true for the real thing as well).
From what I gathered in German forums and various YouTube things, you'd typically accelerate a 110 at around 40kn/FM. In a documentary about the 101, it was said that IC trains are stretched at less than 20kn/FM when starting, but I don't know if that's the norm for 110-hauled local services as well, obviously.
Probably because in Germany freights don't do line speed. Loaded cars (except for container flats and some autoracks) are limited to 100.
it’s the only route where I recall several micro pauses just by heading along the track (seems to be always in the same places) the route has huds limited to the speed of which train you are using (noticed this from the cab car hud) I presume it’s the same with freight, though it does draw an issue if their are services that allow 120km in the route… Also still has the really bright tailights the last time i used the route. despite how long the route has been released… annoyingly it also doesn’t set up the back loco when you start a service (tailights and PIS)
This was discussed in a separate thread: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/changes-to-the-in-game-speed-limit-system.65312/ DTG seem to have experimented with the speed limit for some time. I believe it is back to the old standard with LFR…
Is the SIFA switch usable in the N-wagen? I know where the breaker switch is, but I cannot interact with it. PZB works okay, though.
