No... it's a thread to post videos. I posted a video. What would be the point of making a whole new thread?

I will when I have the time. Sometimes months go by between videos... sometimes there are 3 or 4 in succession. Like buses really :)

Why not tape ahead and space them out?

Still takes time. If I did that, I'd be spending an entire day doing nothing but recording video... then there's the second run of each scenario to record B roll... then the editing - even with simple crossfades... takes time. It's easy if you just record the screen while you are playing, then dump it online, but I don't do that. Plus... I've absolutely no desire to be a "you tuber" LOL. I just enjoy making the occasional video once in a while. If people like to watch them, that's great. If not, I'd probably still make them. Some have several thousand views though, so someone must enjoy them.

[edit]... tape? The 1980s just called.... they want their VCR back. ;)

I think your content is just incredible mate really enjoyable to watch and look forward to watching future ones. Much more professional looking than as you say someone recording there gameplay then just shoving it on youtube to get likes and views.

Guilty, I was alive in the 80s. And 90s, when the VCR died.

I am old enough to remember standing on the platforms at York looking at Deltics and seeing those new-fangled HSTs.

I have not completed the video, only briefly watched a couple sections but it I really like this video from what I have watched!! Recently I have had the idea of doing live streams of Train Simulator Classic scenarios, just nice calm runs where I talk about what is going on in the scenario and maybe I can have some notes written down about the route or locomotive I am driving with so I have something to talk about. I think your excellent video has really pushed me over the edge and I may be trying that idea soon!

Yeah, I don't mind watching live streams sometimes. I'm not one for talking in videos though. I think unless you have something really relevant to add to the video, people would just prefer to hear the engines, and running noises. Train enthusiasts love a bit of thrash and clag :) The whole "stream of consciousness" dialogue gets a bit tiring though, especially those that just talk nonsense, and come out with technically inaccurate stuff. I also can't trust myself not to offend people with my commentary LOL.... there are some really easily offended people these days, and I am totally bereft of tact or diplomacy. I also swear a great deal :)

Very true. Would be a good idea to go without commentary! I have been giving it some more thought and maybe I should just make them in video form instead and share them here possibly?

I can’t help but do commentary. Of course, without commentary, I can remove big lag spikes. Which I have done in quiet bits.

Make them for yourself, and don't worry about what people think. If you start making stuff to please other people, then you end up not enjoying it.

    Just one comment...
... not really at you but at the forums people ...
I tried opening this thread once, granted it was on my previous OS install and all, but it took forever with all those Youtube plugins. I learned to stay away. Seeing "51 posts" enabled me to peek here. It might be a good idea to just post raw links or something.

Fun fact, I have a single dislike on Youtube, and that's for a TSC video :)

Something you should do on your simrail and TSW videos then the lag on them is really bad and unwatchable.

Alright, I have uploaded my first Train Simulator Classic video! I have decided to do a similar style with no commentary and occasional parts of the train passing by like your videos Pookeyhead, and because of that I have credited your channel in the description so I hope that is alright with you. This scenario was much more challening then I expected, it said it would be 30 minutes long but ended up being 40 minutes longer than that, and I had to face steep hills, wheelslip, fog and rain with a heavy coal train limited to 20 miles per hour so that is quite the scenario for a first video! :D

Even if you just post a link, it still does exactly the same thing. The post above was just a link.

[edit] You can't just post a link... but if you use the link tool above, and just turn your text into a link.... you can.

That first page does load the thumbnails in slowly, but not that slowly here... If you scroll down while they are loading it takes a bit longer, but the first thumbnails appear after a couple of seconds here.

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed it. The moment where sudden wheel slip started as I exited that tunnel gave me quite the fright as I started slowing down to around 5 miles per hour!!!

I am really enjoying making videos, so here is my third where we will be driving London Overground Class 172 '172003' on London Overground's Gospel Oak to Barking line using Dovetail Games' North London & Goblin Lines Route. We will be stopping 10 times at stations along the way between Gospel Oak and Barking. I have also added some extra information in the video throughout the journey of other railway lines that we pass by and even an abandoned station so I hope that makes the video more interesting! I hope you enjoy it!

Also regarding the fact that all my videos so far have been in the United Kingdom, I am planning to eventually do routes from other countries but it is randomised as I kind of have a schedule for what I play in this order: 1. Randomised (I have a spinning wheel to decide which train I drive for the day) 2. My most recently acquired DLC (In this case the BR/LNER Class J94) 3. Armstrong Powerhouse (Armstrong Powerhouse gets their own day because I really enjoy Armstrong Powerhouse DLC and their scenarios are based in the standard mode of the game and the spinning wheel is only based in the career mode of the game so this is how I get the opportunity to use some Armstrong Powerhouse DLC every now and then since it isn't in career)

Part 1 and 2 of videos where we lead service 4M02 17:20 Felixstowe South - Hams Hall with GB Railfreight Class 66 '66723' 'Chinook' are now uploaded. In the first part, we depart from Felixstowe South Terminal, then join the Felixstowe Branch Line where we travel along that for a while until we reach the East Suffolk Line where we will be brought to a stop at East Suffolk Junction just outside of the Great Eastern Main Line. In Part 2, we join the Great Eastern Main Line and travel as far as Shenfield before our journey ends. I hope you enjoy!

Sorry for the wait for Part 2 of this scenario, there was a signalling bug with this scenario where Armstrong Powerhouse had to fix it but it has been fixed now so I could successfully complete the scenario! We will be driving GB Railfreight Class 66 '66772' from Ingatestone to Ipswich with a stop at a red signal at Colchester. :)

Just came across this documentary on the UK BBC iPlayer and thought it might be of some interest for those that are able to view it.
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p011vfz4/the-great-railway-cavalcade-rocket-150-at-rainhill

It is an hour long documentary from 1980 showing a huge array of British locos, mainly steam, and stock throughout the ages, on display at Rainhill.

"First transmitted in 1980, Brian Redhead reports from the 'Rocket 150' event held at Rainhill, Lancashire to mark the 150th anniversary of the world's first inter-city railway and the Stephensons' legendary Rocket locomotive. On display are 'celebrity' engines from across the country, including the 'Green Arrow', the 'Flying Scotsman' and the record-breaking Mallard-class train that bore its designer's name, 'Sir Nigel Gresley', as well as the king of the modern electric railway, the Advanced Passenger Train (APT)."

(Not sure if this will be available for those of you outside of the uk, would be interesting to find out if any of you that are can view it)

Bit late finding this thread. I’m on holiday at the moment sitting in a cafe enjoying the recent videos posted. Both of you (Pookeyhead and Blazin) have cost me money. I‘ve been inspired to purchase add on packs by Pookeyhead and now have a lot! Now Blazin has made me want the Woodhead Line. Your first video is excellent, really captures an atmosphere. So I guess I‘m getting that now. Good job there’s a sale on.

I wish I had the patience to make videos. Maybe I’ll give it a try.

Keep up the good work. Subscribed to both.

Thank you very much! At the moment I’m taking a break from doing videos as I prefer spending my drives taking screenshots, and I can’t do that in a video because it disrupts the flow in my opinion so I’ve had to choose the screenshotting route for now but I hope to return to videos eventually. :)

TRAIN SIMULATOR CLASSIC Train Cab video. Real Drive advanced Rosenheim - Salzburg.

A Real Drive advanced scenario is a quick drive with random red signalling. The permutations are in the millions, so it’s NEVER the same when you drive it.

This scenario also has random showers from the two brilliant Armstrong Powerhouse Sky And Weather pack 2 and Clouds pack 1. All the randomness highly enhancing the realism of TSC.

The raw footage was captured using the GeForce software utility that comes with NVidia GPUs. It was captured at QHD resolution (2,560x1,440) with the small control panel on so I could see what I was doing and cropped down to HD (which removed the control panel) in Movie Studio Platinum. Speed ramping was done using pro-DAD ReSpeedr which comes with Movie Studio Platinum suite.

If you are looking for video editing software that is capable, easy to use and good VFM I recommend you at least consider Movie Studio Platinum which can be used on trial basis for a month without restriction- or it could the last time I looked. Usual disclaimer.

    Hope this is helpful.
