agree. Bedford to ST Pancras is 50 miles, 16 stations. Compare to ECML king cross to Peterborough 76 miles 24 stations.
Plus DTG would already have the 700/0, HST, southeastern 395 for AI in St Pancras station, like you mentioned they are already showing you the AI HST in St Pancras for SEHS.Hoping the train that comes with the route is the 700/1 that could layer on BML.If the route is set around 2019 they only loco that would be missing is the Meridian. But most likely the HST would be used for all services from St Pancras .I don’t think they would make those trains just for one route. All speculation but financially and for time purposes is what makes the most sense.

It’s an AC route, it’s only electric trains coming therefore it can’t be a MML

How about if EMR have agreed to a license but added the condition that DTG need to showcase their brand new not yet running Aurora's so the route is set in 2024?

It would be great PR for both companies with a chance to drive EMR trains virtually prior to real life.

highly highly doubt they’d set a route that far in the future

6-12 months isn't that far in the future really is it.

.BCC included a new University station and New Street signalling changes about 6 months prior to them happening (not actually sure if the singaling has been updated yet.

Any whilst the Aurora is a new train, it's part of the AT300 family so the design is probably locked and improbable to change prior to release in the real world.

What would they base the timetable on though, if it is future dated? I think ECML South seems far more likely, I wouldn't guarantee getting a class 707 though, DTG might just miss it out.

So what year, what trains, and from what stations would the ECML south DLC be?
All this is in fun and speculating of course

Sorry 717, I get confused with the numbering of these modern trains! Yes it quite likely would be DLC. I just can't see DTG being that generous.

I really do this is most likely to be Birmingham New St - Crewe via Wolverhampton (as I outlined in the other thread) as it's the only modern UK AC route I can find that fits with the leaked Epic route codes, and BNS is already in-game (as well is Crewe, sort of). It's the right length (even with the Stoke branch) and has the right number of stations.

I'd imagine it will have to come with the 390 Pendolino and 350 Desiro to be worth doing though, and that's quite a lot of loco production so that's probably my only question mark about it, unless it launches with the 350 and the 390 is added as DLC later. The 323 (which is a gem btw) would layer on nicely too for the Birmingham metro area services, and if Stoke is included then we could also see EMT 158s layer on from MML.

I do think that ECML KX - PB is likely to happen at some point in the not-too-distant future too though now that the vehicles are almost all there (I would think launch with a Class 800 and then follow up with 91/DVT DLC).

This would also be an excellent further 'gateway route' to WCML-S Euston - BNS which although highly demanded is such a large undertaking that if I were DTG I'd certainly want most of the rolling stock etc in place already.

That would be a nice choice of route. I wouldn't be surprised if the Pendolino wasn't included as I can't see them making two new trains. I think they would want the Pendolino for a route where it would be the flagship train. I would love to see the route as I use Smethwick Galton Bridge quite often.

Here's my rough idea of a good roadmap for WCML content:

Birmingham Cross-City, introduces 323, New St and surrounding junctions
Birmingham - Crewe, introduces 350 (and Soho depot), 323 layers on
Euston - Birmingham New St, introduces 390 (possibly as part of large summer route drop), include 350 again as part of base pack, 323 layers on, Bakerloo stock layers on
Then there is scope to add the 378 Capitalstar or the 710 Aventra as a loco DLC to fill out the London Overground Watford Jnc - Euston section.

Then what have you got? Players can now drive from London Euston to Crewe via BNS with a short stop to switch routes in the middle, and longer runs have been asked for some time as well. Doesn't even require route merging, assuming you stop for a cup of tea and a biscuit at New Street.

It sounds plausible and I would love to see it happen so you might be right. Certainly Euston to BNS/Wolverhampton would always be a favourite of mine. A "small" extension to Shrewsbury with a class 170 or the new 196 would be nice, the contrast from leaving the concrete jungle of Birmingham and arriving at picturesque Shrewsbury with its semaphores would be nicely immersive.

We would more likely get an ECML dlc roadmap over a west coast, because north of peterborough theres a lot less bustle compared to the wcml

Good call. I mean although I would prefer the Class 81 to 87 era, I wouldn't be averse to a Pendolino in the game, over a Knotweed any day.
