Travelling from Lime Street to York on 13 May 2023 with Transpennine Express. Does anyone know what model train it will be?
Almost certainly an 802. As I understand it TPE put their 68s pretty much exclusively on Scarborough services, and the 185s are now mainly used on Cleethorpes to Manchester and Redcar to Manchester services.
Those timings from RTT you have shown state it starts as a DMU and changes en-route. However, the 802s run on OHLE from Liverpool to Manchester via Chat Moss and then switch to diesel for the route via Huddersfield (or Calder Valley if on divert due to engineering works). The 802s would then only switch back to OHLE at York or on the fly around Church Fenton or Colton Junction.
For Calder Valley it's actually Manchester Victoria Rochdale Hebden Bridge Bradford Interchange reversal point New Pudsey Leeds City then normal route to York from Leeds.
Not according to RTT and Railcam data it isn't and also friends who have had to use the divert route due to Huddersfield being closed. Take for example this coming Saturday. Services running from Liverpool Lime St to Newcastle are running as follows: Liv - Man Vic Man Vic - Leeds via Miles Platting, Rochdale, Hebden Bridge, Heaton Lodge, Mirfield, Dewsbury and Leeds Leeds - Newcastle via Garforth and normal route No TPE service when on divert via Calder Valley goes through Bradford or New Pudsey.
