Draw Distance

    Why is the draw distance onTSW 3 so low, like you can see the tracks and the OHLE loading right in front of you, as well as the OHLE (which is not dark enough)

    Sadly it comes down to performance, and although we get sliders in the sim ‘Ultra’ isn’t really Ultra.

    Are you on PC or Console? If it’s the latter you’re stuck with it sadly, on PC you can tweak the engine.ini file to mitigate the worst of it, although you have to be careful to find the right balance between visual quality and the limit of your machine.

    The game is really awful even on Xbox Series X
    The Draw Distance is a joke DTG, no comparison to Forza Horizon or any other Racing Game from there Draw Distance

    unfortunately i’m on console, can’t tweak them but the draw distance is so appaling, it’s one of the reasons why i don’t set weather to clear on TSW

    You have my sympathy. It’s a very long standing problem that's showing no signs of being sorted out sadly. Even with the tweaks on PC we’re still limited quite significantly, you can only improve the general look marginally. The big win is you can stop the tree pop-in which I find unbearable in it’s shipped state. It’s ridiculous in this day and age for that to be happening.

    Seems to be an issue with most simulators, at least ones that are on console. Seems to be genre wide, at least with all the simulators I play.

    FH5’s draw distance sucks too- the detail around the car is phenomenal but once you look past 100 meters the textures aren’t great, you get tons of pop in. Cars have disappearing tires and look like they’re hovering. When you go over a hill sometimes you can see the skybox through the ground and the textures on the other side haven’t even loaded yet.
