I’m looking through the Xbox sale items and the only one of the ones I haven’t got that takes my fancy is Ruhr Sieg Nord. At the moment I’m umming and aahing over buying it.

I know that this is a route that came out with TSW1. Do you think it stands up today and worth buying, given the sale price of £13.74 Great British Pounds and bearing in mind that I own MSB and HRR which I gather are fairly similar?

I´d totally recommend it. And together with the BR363! Although with a little outdated assets, you can still see the love that went into this route. From DTG and the preservation crew. Unlike the unfinished and rushed out recents...

I still have to make up my mind whether MSB or RSN is the best german route (no, I don´t think DRA and no, I don´t think DCZ because there´s lot of stutter).

I think you should buy RSN. YES it is from TSW1 and YES, you can somewhat see it’s age, but the rolling stock that is possible with this route is quite good.
In the routec there are included:
Br 143 with dostos and a 1/2class dosto cab car, which Isn’t really different to the normal 2nd class Cabcar, but still is something of its own.
Br 185 is also included, it’s nearly the same from MSB, but it has a different paintscheme.

The thing that really is interesting about the route are the add ons, which are the Br 155 in traffic red and the Br 363 in traffic red, both locos are quite good and the br 155 also is usable on most German routes.
And so far, the br 232 from TSG is also announced for RSN, which also is a big plus in my opinion

I’d say MSB is the better route scenic wise, but RSN has better rolling stock

RSN stands up very well, It's so much better than some recent rushed out DLC. If you also have DRA (Dresden) you can use the improved BR143 in timetable mode. Timetabled freight also has some shunting and trip working (dropping off some wagons in sidings and then continuing). I still very much love this route.

RSN is still my favorite route. I think this is the best place to learn PZB, because this isn't a high speed route.
