Would anyone out there know, how exactly to create route marker PINS? What is the naming convention for the route marker pin? In blender I have 1_1000_RouteMarker_Pin I also have it textured and material set to TexDiff and exported it to RouteMarkers under MyProduct\MyDev I originally set up the blueprint using the Scenery blueprint and I also setup a GPS marker blueprint, exported successfully no issues. Loaded TS and loaded my route and no markers are appearing not even in the Route Marker menu, nothing is showing... WHY??? Please help, I really need these markers to fix up my Queensland route
Route markers are stored inside a plain text .dcsv file in the assets folder of your Route, in the folder named "Assets\Provider\Product\RouteMarkers\MyRouteMarkers.dcsv", just the Marker name and its coordinates. The GPS marker blueprint must point to the dcsv list. And be sure to set a good Provider / Product name before starting - chances are someone else publishes a route under the provider "MyDev" - which would then conflict with your route in case someone should install these, assets could then be overwritten. Choose your name or nick as Provider folder to make it unique - once the assets have been exported it can be a hassle to change the paths again. There is a lot of issues with freeware assets from multiple authors being set up as "Developer\AddOn". So in your case set them up as Assets\cityrail-rulez\Queensland\RouteMarkers...
Thanks for your response, really appreciate it. But this isn't exactly what I needed help with. I will try to make it clearer I do have my developer folders setup correctly, I just utilised 'MyProduct' and 'MyDev' as an example for this post. I created the markers using Google Earth and exported it as KML and converted it using RW Tools to CSV and I've setup the GPS blueprint As I don't have any available 'Flag' or 'Pin' mode from any other route from what I can see in TS, I thought I create my own model flag or pin, so I've done that and setup the Flag/Pin model using the Scenery Blueprint - But what I am saying is that when I load up my route, then click on the Route Markers icon or whatever it is called. My route markers are not showing up in my route I can however, load the route marker model into the editor as a piece of scenery. But I want to use them as a route marker. Could it be that I used the wrong blueprint set? I've also tried Gizmo and Marker Board Blueprint sets and nothing happens
I wouldn't bother using pins like that. It's far easier just to use the pop-up to jump between places. Anyway, are you sure you've set them to display. Somewhere (the left panel I think?) there is a tick box to make them show up.
I need to use the pin markers, as I marked out the roads and bridges in my route. I could use the Google Maps overlay using Map Tiler, but the image quality is garbage. Even if I used a Google Maps API key the images for Australia is just 'I'd love to say something else' but you get the point.. I even downloaded JOSM so I could download OSM data but I can't even get the elevation of the track, roads and everything else to work. Everything will show up as being all levelled in Blender. The plan was for it to show me all elevation data as well as where all the roads and bridges are instead of loading up the rubbish Google Maps overlay, I could set the model in position and fix up my entire route really fast. The route I'm working on, I just don't have any curve and gradient data. So I'm doing a fair bit of guess work and lets face it, it's not going to plan because I can't figure out how to get any markers to load. I can load up the marker pin 3d models as scenery from the left panel, but I want to see them show up as markers in the route markers menu.. I even followed Matt Plays tutorial on Youtube and no success
