I wanted to write this in the Suggestion Forum first, but I can't find any Information as to whether the DB BR 147 can be found on one of the existing Routes in TSW. The only Info I could find is that the BR147 can be found in Berlin and Hamburg, but the latter only in the direction of Bremen. Does anyone of you know if the BR 147 can be found on one of the TSW Routes IRL. As you all probably know yourself, Skyhook's DB BR 187 is one of the worst DLCs in TrainSimWorld and Skyhook doesn't seem to be able to Fix this. I guess for financial reasons and so out of sheer desperation i would suggest Skyhook start over with the Passenger Sister Loco DB BR 147.
I’ll tell you what I’m not gonna do. I’m not going to buy a new product that exists because they couldn’t fix the other version.
Actually there is no BR147 in TSW yet unless it's a texture mod or a reskin from the CC. The BR147 is just the passenger train version of Bombardier's TRAXX3 family, while the BR187 is the freight train version. I think Skyhook has enough to do fixing MML right now, but a sound update has been promised for a long time and is also noted in the current roadmap.
I know that there is currently no BR 147 in TSW. Sorry if my wording is Bad. My Question was about whether a BR 147 travels one of the TSW Routes in real Life. If so, one could suggest Skyhook to develop a DB BR 147 and use it to fix the BR 187.
The BR147 as an IC2 train locomotive should be on the road all over Germany, i.e. everywhere where Dosto ICs are used. In regional traffic it is currently used in Baden-Württemberg (wasn't there this mailbox leak on the Niddertalbahn ) and in Berlin/Brandenburg at DB Regio Nordost. There she drives the FEX to the new airport in Berlin, but it shouldn't be on the road in Hamburg yet, because there are enough BR146s in use. As far as I know...
Metronom seems to be responsible for the BR 147 in Hamburg and, as I said, it runs the Hamburg-Bremen Route. https://diebahnfotografen.de/2020/12/30/vorhang-auf-fuer-die-baureihe-147-beim-metronom/
Good to know! So if Skyhook would do a Metronom DLC, it can be used in Hamburg of course. The existing 4th gen Dostos have to be updated in Metronom livery and with some minor details like new seat covers. But maybe a full IC2 DLC would be better though as it could be layered on multiple TSW routes.
Both Skyhook with BR 187 and Rivet with BR 204 had their chance to build German content and in both cases they blew it because they turned out to be a big disappointment. I hope they don't give any project from that country to either of them again, what DTG has done alone or the collaboration between them and TSG has been very satisfactory in most occasions. And let's not even talk about the G6 and Niddertalbahn that TSG has done alone. Finally all dlc's have the same price whoever the developer is, so as a customer I expect the best work and the highest possible quality, and I find it quite unlikely that these two developers can keep up with the others in terms of German content.
DB Baureihe 147 IC2 runs IC56 Norddeich Mole/ Emden Bremen Hannover Braunschweig Helmstedt Marienborn Magdeburg Leipzig/Cottbus this is Bremen Oldenburg other route is Ruhr Sieg Nord IC34 Norddeich Mole Lennestadt Finnentrop Siegen Gießen Bad Vilbel Frankfurt am Main Hbf. This one is an AI 147 on a 2022-2023 Niddertalbahn route predating the 2027 electrification. On the German language source electrification is written as Elektrifizierung & Niddertalbahn Speed when electrified 100 kmh. Which means this will allow DB Baureihe 147 DB Regio Hessen to run there
...of course you could also say Skyhook and Rivet are developer studios from the UK, so they know trains from there better and TSG is a specialist for German trains. But to be fair: the BR204 was Rivet's first product for TSW and Skyhook couldn't make any new sound recordings due to pandemic lockdowns. So it would have made more sense to release the BR187 later. Maybe we could see the BR204 as a new correctly programmed version again as Rivet's one still has a car's gear shift and hasn't yet been adapted for the Livery Designer. And hopefully the BR187 will also get its sound update soon.
