Hi guys, with May discount sale on PlayStation and 55% off on Hamburg Lubeck, is this a bargain? Can anyone recommend the route? I’ve only seen preview streams and wasn’t impressed but I understand the timetable has been updated? Any layers etc? Edinburgh/Glasgow also got 20% off but will wait further reduction on that one.
I personally find this route kinda bland and there isn't really much to look at. It is mostly flat. Not saying it is bad. It has some service variety with the passenger services where some run the whole route and some only go half way. I don't like the 112 included with the route. I only bought it for the taurus. The timetable includes some new shunting moves (8) and ice services (6). Hamburg is busier with the ai only services.
It’s a decent route, the biggest issue with it is the 112 modelling (blatantly a 143 that has been badly remodelled to look like a 112), and the dostos are wrong so you get doors that open below the platforms & passengers acting weird. If you can get past that, it’s quite a well modelled route overall, it’s not the busiest, and it suffers from the curse of the dosto (very little loco led trains going into Hamburg). Hamburg HBF is quite busy with AI so that’s nice. Layers are as shown above, with the usual substitution for freight locos. Overall, it’s a nice tidy route, but it’s straight and not visually exciting, but it is relaxing in a sense.
Thanks guys, think I’ll pass on this one. I like Riesa Dresden, SEHS and BML are my go-to’s so can’t say that this is for me, even at £11.99. Doesn’t add anything to anything else either.
It does add the MRCE 182 to the sub list for freight on other routes, and will also add some AI layers on DCZ (and I’m sure there’s another) for Eurocity consists. Will also give you 112 access to sub on freight & passenger services, but again you have to deal with the fact that it looks really off when compared to a real 112, and it does seem to have a very high spawn chance.
I like this route!. You can drive a variety of trains, - both passenger and freight ones-, having also special freight yards and big Hbf's on separate areas. The Hamburg freight yard it is on a special branch line, with several bridges, houses, trains depots, and pipelines. Furthermore you can drive suburban services with Dostos, - with several different destinations and services - to IC trains, for one end to the other. This route have special feature, not mostly seen on timetables: You are running a freight train, and on one big intermediate station, you have a red light. You have to wait for 2 passenger services to pass you, until you get the green light. You get the MRCE 182 as mentioned above. There are lot of very interesting scenarios created by the community too. It is flat... yes, but there are lot of several other non-flat ones available. Hamburg Hbf is really nice! There are lot of Ai trains there, including ICE passing by to other destinations. Furthermore if you get the Mastery Award, you get a very nice one, with movement and visible both day at night with nice illumination
How I’d love to pick up Hamburg. But I can’t stand the butchered “112” that looks like some uncanny-valley/AI-art 112.
I have the red BR 182, actually one of my favourite trains, don’t see the need for the MRCE, although it does look good!
Yes I agree the BR 122 it is "complicated" to drive, and a almost "annoying". It requires practice. But I usually use the services with the BR 146 instead or the cabcar. Depends on what other DLCs you have. There I have several locomotives both freight and passenger ones.
