PC Class 37/7 Epx Has No Jurney Mode?

I bought the EPX and there is no journey mode, is that normal? I can only see it in timetable mode.
I bought the Class 66 with the cleaning coaches at the same time and it does have journey mode.
An ideas?

 

Nope, no journey mode.

That DLC pack fell inline with all the other recent releases, shoved out the door.

 

Not every train has a "journey mode". Not sure why they choose to have one or not, but they're curated scenario and timetable runs anyway so you could just make one up

 

So curated that at least 2 of the total 40 on DTG's last route (Linke Rheinstrecke) cannot be completed due to a red light bug.

I don't know, is the Journey mode still relevant and necessary to be a part of every release?

Probably not, but some people use it as a means of getting introduced to a route without the repetitive nature of the timetable mode

 

This was one of the downfalls for me as well. A few did ask DTG about it but as far as I'm aware there was no official reply. It would've been nice for them to just pop the scenarios and services into one as I do enjoy completing them to gold etc.

Are they difficult to do or was it decided not to do one as they aren't popular? Would be interesting to know the reasoning as thats something I feel like could be on the list for all dlc DTG Matt

 

This was a deciding factor for me on why this and the other packs released at the same time got left on the shelf.

So if a journey service starts with a permanent red light, it's ok because Journey mode is curated?

 

I think you need to get off whatever horse you're on (probably a little high) and if you have bugs to report go report them. This post is about journey mode and why some assets don't have them so unless the red light it part of a scenario it has naff all to do with this

 

Cant speak of Koblenz Mainz (as I dont own it) but in TSW3 I've attempted 1,154 journey services of which only 14 couldn't be completed, that sounds a lot but that includes 7 on the RT BR182, so works out at about 1.4% including RT or 0.6% including.

I've 686 services to attempt.

Not saying that there isnt an issue (because IMO even 1 is a game breaking bug), but its greatly exaggerated.

 

Would be nice to see the journey mode added at some point as an update. I understand that a lot of people don't use them though I nearly always play in journey mode and I believe I am not the only one.

BTW why would that be not popular?

 

You're not the only one (I do that too when starting a new route) but some people don't actually like the curated nature with fixed times and weather etc, they like to set their own parameters

I've found the 'journey' mode quite excellent at introducing a route. Can be quite fun and entertaining.

 

Also nice to collect the medals. Though one must have infinite time to complete a journey mode....unfortunately I don't have but this is my problem Anyway journey mode is fun!

 

I see no Class 33 journey.

 

The preserved Class 52 Western on WSR or the NTP BR Heavy Freight Pack also don’t have journeys.

 

I use journey mode a lot! Even years after joining the TSW community, I’d guess about 50-70% of services I do are the curated ones from journey mode. I especially like the smaller and themed chapters.
All in all, it’s great to hear this is being looked into! I think there are some great possibilities for themed chapters here (seasons, weather, delivering and then returning the same train from modernization work etc.).

 

I recently started playing journeys too, they certainly have their fun sides.

Biggest downside, IMO, is that they don't benefit any locos from other routes substituting in. Locos that are available in timetable mode, but journey mode only utilizes the locos that came with the route or associated loco DLC.

 

DTG Matt looks like the DB BR155 journey is also missing. Can't seem to find it.

 

Is this something the Special Project Team is going to add to our preserved collection?

 

Do the locos in timetable mode that substitute in from other routes appear as AI as well?

 

I believe they do. Journey mode only seems to dictate the loco for the player train. (And it dictates weather settings). Other than that, I believe it's just regular Timetable mode.

 

Thats what I thought, definitely seen layers on BML.

 

Hi Matt, just watching the roadmap stream regarding the Loco Addons pack and was wondering if the journeys were included with the update or if its something that'll have to be done at a later date?

I noticed a problem with the Class 37/7 add-on, I don't see the Class 37/7 in AI on the SEHS route.
I don't know if it's related to this week's update on SEHS schedules (?!).
If I launch a Class 37/7 service directly from the time mode, no problem. But if I start on foot or a service with another locomotive, nothing.
For example: I set off on foot from the Gillingham depot at 11:30 AM, there should be Class 37/7 on standby before its 11:32 AM service, but it's not there.
Tried other Class 37/7 AI services but nothing. I'm on Steam (PC), without any mods.

Indeed, after your advice, I only see this service in March and April. I didn't know this subtlety for this DLC.

Class 37 ROG: Jan, Feb, Mar
Class 47 rail tour: May, Jun, Jul, Aug
Class 33 rail tour: Mar, Apr, May
TGV: March, April.
465: summer services Jun, Jul, Aug
Steam Railtour: Jun- Dec

I'll be honest I keep forgetting about the journey mode, as I'm so used to clicking on 'choose a route'. Need to start getting back into it, I enjoyed completing the GWE (original) journey mode, DTG Matt speaking of GWE is there any update on the derailment and redlight bugs for DLOGW?
