    Afternoon all,

I can’t believe I find myself writing this as someone who is usually very positive and supportive of the decision DTG make, however the new route announcement has made me find myself very frustrated.

This route very much feels like a cop out on DTG’s behalf. A short 12 mile route with only 13 stations, with a reskinned unit we already have seen in TSW3, which will likely be priced at the usual £30. While it is a pleasant change to see a modern northern UK route, it being so short with no new units feels very much like they’re ticking a box and nothing else.
Any one else feel the same?

Maybe they're just testing where consumers draw the line at garbage output? What's the least effort that can be put in at which price point and establish a bottom. They've seemingly gotten away with it for months, so why not try a new bottom?

I was thinking the same: trying to see how low can they go.
NID is only slightly longer than this, I think, but it was very well received.
So, setting the bar lower means a bit shorter route and recycled train.
DTG might be the new limbo champs.

After doing some some research on RTT there’s 57 Hadfield to Manchester services including 1 RHTT, and there’s 40 services to Hadfield from Manchester as of 2023

I really, really hope there’s more to it than this.

A tiny, quiet route with one reskinned train?

One train from a hugely busy terminus.

This is not good at all. It’s like DTG are trying to turn people against Northern routes.

Honestly, I can’t even be more constructive than I am being, because there’s zero chance that DTG don’t know this is wrong in so many ways.
