Careful there, the world we live in for all you know I may not be either him or her But I am so don’t worry
This particular DLC will be £19.99. Essentially it’s a shorter route and game experience so Dovetail are pricing accordingly. I for one welcome this! Shows they are listening to the community!
I think with what’s going on recently they didn’t dare release a 13 mile route and say ‘30 quid folks’
I, for one, like this route. I like the 323, but the BCC route takes up so much time and is a drag end to end. So a 14 mile route, using an already perfectly modelled train.... is a win for me?
Same for me, I love the BCC being local but sometimes I don't want to play an hour on an all stations service, although when I do I find it rewarding. The class 323 is one of the best trains in the sim. I am happy to have a shorter route to drive it on. I wouldn't mind more shorter and less expensive routes like this amongst the £30 routes.
I think the main consensus here is that the route is not bad at all, like i would love a good short route more than anything, i think the main issue is the time of launch and the train. The time of launch was quite poorly executed as most people assumed the uk would finally get its own well dedicated KWG or NYT esque route, as the US and Germany got much longer routes with more trains, had this been after the UK got say for instance an ECML south, this would have been a much better received route, don’t get me wrong i am all for shorter routes in game, but i feel like honestly the time it got announced wasn’t really the best idea, Another issue is the train, we are getting a recycled 323 from BCC so i can see why it rubs heads the wrong way. I don’t have an issue with the route, i just don’t like how our suggestions are getting glossed past without any acknowledgment. And before DTG fanboys get triggered these are generally the issues highlighted with the route.
Like I've mentioned before, for a brand new operator, it would have been better to get a longer route and a brand new unit. This route with a 323 would have been better to be released after a longer route was released. Considering how dtg hasn't provided a new unit since bcc and the 323 is being reused again doesn't sound like a good move. I still approve this dlc, just that it came out at the wrong time.
I disagree, I'd much rather short routes than massively long time consuming ones. Hence why i love EDN and WCL 323 is brilliant, i'd have it recycled anyday. Rather that than 377.... again
an hour of driving is not massively long… what are you talking about… And no one was talking about a 377, if a 377 got added it would have still gotten backlash so what is your point. The northern license could have been used for a 319 or a 331
They were saying "thankfully it's not another southern electro route..." ie agreeing with you Not sure this would matter IF the route is interesting, has some good features, has interesting gameplay, has a difference from other routes etc then the length or diversity of the route becomes less of a factor for me For instance the recent MML is currently a bit of a yawnfest end to end run with a couple of units, but had they put in the aggregate industry as a working asset with some loading etc, a run around or two. Great. Had they put in the power station and deliveries there. Great. Had they put in the yard just north of the route... you get the idea. Same applies here. If the depot is there and working, if the runarounds are done properly and if there's some AI freight (none stops on the route, but there are two industries just south of the route which use the western end to get to Manc) then it could be decent enough
If Kassel is only an hour, then the UK already has more than enough routes to cover this. "Time of launch" they're not going to develop a route and then think... hmm wait no, this isn't right and scrap it. The more i read this, the less it makes sense. Also, my point about the 377 is that it is used in 3 routes, so why are you saying a 323 being 'recycled' is bad? So, by this logic a train can no longer reappear on another route as the default? So if ECML 800 was used to Stevenage, then no other 800 can appear as default train? Think of this logic, and how stupid it is As for the others, i assume that modern trains, like the 331 also need the manufacturers approval to licence. And why make a 319 when a 323 exists?! So again, one of the best simulated trains yet...... cant be reused?
I did not imply that at all what I did say is that the route is underwhelming, we are getting one train, nothing else and a 14 mile route, reusing trains is okay...but in this scenario one reused loco is just... It makes a lot of sense, as there cold have been a better time to announce it, not necessarily scrap it.
Shorter routes aren't necessary underwhelming though, IoW and IoW22 are both fantastic routes. I would have expected the 22 version to be underwhelming, as it pretty much already existed but it was actually very well done. A reused loco doesn't bother me, at some point they'll run out of trains to pick from. I don't think this community would ever find a 'better time' to recieve news. Honestly, from what I see on here, if it isn't the exact route they want, feasible or not, there are complaints. I dread the day they actually announce the WCML or ECML, as someone will be upset it isn't their chosen era.
how many times do i have to say this, the route length isn’t the issue it’s not about the length for God sake
You did list how long the route was as one of your factors there, so don't blame God, that's one's on you!
Then why say the UK "finally gets its KWG (186km) or NYT (94Km) route? That alone, suggested you were on about wanting longer routes? I would argue that BML alone makes up for the this style of route, but without making it clear, I just assumed you were complaining about the UK's below average route length. Also, when rereading your post, I saw this comment and laughed, because I love how anyone who disagrees with people here and acutally likes the concept of the presented dlc, is labelled a "fanboy who gets triggered".
As soon as I see the word fanboy I know that there is no point arguing, it is a sign that they have no intention of being reasonable.
oh trust me i can be reasonable, but it just seems like any criticism i make comes off as me hating on dtg
Aye, that's the peril of this place. You agree or like an idea - accused of being a fanboy, DTG lover etc You disagree - accused of being a hater and always negative. We can't win, and nor can DTG.
