Hello, I would just like to raise the reoccurring issue of the Platforms on many of the Routes. They are NOT long enough for the length of the base Trains. This is a Simulator, they are meant to be as true to life as possible and Managers and Train Operators would never allow their Trains to be scheduled at a certain Platform when they know full well that their Trains will not fit in certain Stations. Thank You, Anonymous
Calling for the resignation of staff members at DTG because you know less about railways than they do is well out of order. You are wrong. Trains often call at platforms that they don’t fully fit on. Platforms in TSW are made correctly.
Sure on most Modern Trains, the driver, guard or train manager can select what doors to open. This is depicted in a number of TSW routes.
Seriously, is this how you treat anyone, dtg staff members specifically. Also, do your research before making a rant post like this. In real life, short platforms do exist and trains that don't fit can stop at short platforms. The guard/conductor can pick what doors can be opened through sdo. Of course sdo is not simulated on loco units, but it exists in real life. That is realistic.
Also you never heard of selective door opening? No? It seriously shows, strong with idiocy this one is
This really isn't the way to make a point. Also as Stujoy says above it isn't a rare occurence at all in real life for trains to be too long for the platform. Have you any in game examples you would like to show?
Calling for a member of staffs resignation over this isn't on there's a few platforms in real life that the trains don't fit on I think you should just delete the status
Amtrak Superliners for one specific example. You tell the staff members on the platform which city you're disembarking at, and they tell you which car to board.
Good morning gang, While providing possible issues and errors in the game is highly appreciated, asking for the resignation of our colleagues is not. I'm going to lock this thread, but since I can provide some insight as a former conductor, I will: While the OP is correct that stopping a train at a platform that is too short is undesirable, it happens. Sometimes planned, sometimes accidentally. In either case the driver and conductor will communicate and act accordingly, i.e. asking passengers to disembark from certain coaches only. The problem isn't with trains being too long, it's with people falling out of it and possibly hurting themselves.
