Oh no, no, no. Britain/England doesn't do apologising!

    Especially not for the...

    Irish Language Ban (1366)
    Atlantic Slave Trade
    Glorious Revolution (1688)
    Irish Famine (1740-41)
    Kilt Ban (1746-1782)
    Highland Clearances (1750-1860)
    Irish Famine (1845-52)
    Irish Famine (1879)
The 2nd Boer War (War Crimes) (1899-1902)
The first non-POW Prison (Concentration) Camps (1900s)
    Battle of George Square (1919)
    Palestine Mandate & Partition (1923-47)
    Bombing of Hamburg (1942-45)
    Bombing of Dresden (1945)
    Partition of India (1947)
Numerous Post-WWII attempts to overthrow legitimate foreign governments - 42 attempts, to be specific.
    The Gulf War (1990-91)
    The Iraq War (2003-11)
And so, so, so much more.

Nothing here to apologise for, of course, it's all "in the past now"...

That's why I removed that comment minutes after posting...
    Saw this coming...

Never mind... Not the right forum to discuss these things !
Please accept my ( *British ) apologies for a moment of rage :)

Of course, your country of residence/birth/choice (delete as applicable) has never done anything which is now considered questionable and/or has already apologised profoundly for everything!

I doubt there are many nations in the world that hasn't at some point offended or wronged someone or something at some point in time.

My country (Scotland) falls victim to four of the above listed things.

Yes, we contributed to the atrocities the British State has committed to the world.
Did we ever have a fair say? No.

    So what would you want?
What would make it less painful for you?

Nice description to your own comment.
I support Scotland's separation from the UK but it's not for this reason. I don't see any point in trying to rectify it because, well it's still going on to a lesser extent even today.

Just because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t mean you have to throw pathetic replies, I am here for a proper discussion so let’s have one if you like!!!

I don't think calling my post
and then providing nothing to support your point counts as "proper discussion".

Take a look at your own comments first pal.

Ok surely if Scotland was being bound to be part of the UK it would have voted to have left it but they didn’t!!!
There are always two sides to a story and at the minute the only side your showing is how horrible the English supposedly are which although you seem to make it look like this is the majority opinion in Scotland it really isn’t!!! [EDIT - Jan - Language]

I assume you are taking advantage of the bank holiday and not at work today seeing as you are on here???
