    Yes. Both files was extracted in the same folder. (I have the same problem. Program starts and freezes on 39%)

    I've had the same problems sometimes ago and the only solution for me was re-installing windows when saw on other PC it's works. Now it's function well on my first PC ...
    Unfortunately I haven't found the cause but I think is something like a program that stop UE

    First start takes longer, that is normal. If you go to the Editor\TS2Prototype\Saved\Logs\ folder then you will see there logs files, there you can try open the one with the actual time, you will see that its till doing something (mostly compiling shaders)

    Its up to how fast is your computer, then how many stuff do you have in editor, etc... can take 30 - 60 mins.. like i wrote before... its good to keep checking log file... if the log keep changing then editor is still compiling shaders. And thats not problem of Unofficial Editor, that is how UE4 is working.

    Im going to revisit modding scenery tiles I think. I will be able to add foliage, clutter but currently no roads or fences? Is that right?

    Well first of all there is no problem to create your own spline and just include that extra BP file with your mod. And second, the spline preview is not working but you can still create road, you will just see white line but not the road but in the game you should see normal road.
    V3 is supporting spline, if you load TSW 2 stuff its working normally, only DTG did some changes with TSW 3, the same for shaders. So right now for example my route which im making is only for TSW 2.

    Okay, partialy working. But making scenery when you can't see what you do, (except a white line) aint ideal.

    Like i wrote before, its very easy to create your own SPLINE blueprint, there is tons of tutorials on youtube. So there you can add your own road and then just include that your blueprint with the mod as it will cook too.

    It says so in the title that it's for tsw2 and tsw3. Ue5 isn't a thing yet

    Hi There,

    First post. New to TSW3 but was very involved in MSTS and Railworks. Thought I would return to rail sims but, as an ex-Scenario Creator, was frustrated with the lack of finesse in the in-game editor. Read about the 'Unofficial Editor' and thought I would give this a try. However I am now completely stuck.

    Have managed to get the editor downloaded but, at the moment, have 26 missing files which all seem to be track related.

    Am also getting a fair few crashes, even though I'm not doing anything, and plenty of Norton Error messages.
    Does anyone have any pointers as to what I should do next.

    Is it correct that I have the Launch Editor file / 2 x RAR files / Engine, Feature and TS2Prototype folders outside of the main game?
    As you can tell I really haven't fathomed out what I am doing at the moment but, hopefully, things will change soon.

    Finally, How do I link to my TSW3 files in the Editor? Are there any tutorials explaining how this is done?

    Apologies for the long post. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to give an old man a few pointers. Thanks.

    I hope this project isn't dead but even if it is, you've already given us something Dovetail never bothered to do.

    No the project is not death, its just take a lot of time to add new features. Some small updates will be released soon, they will update the editor to v 0.3.1 - v 0.3.x . They will not bring new features but they will update some already released stuff. Some asset changes which they can make using the editor more easy as the beginners dont know where to look. Update will be distributed like a small patch so you dont have to download the whole editor again. ETA for the update release - sunday 4th of June.

    Those errors are caused as the editor is not loading any of the files from the game which it uses for things like the track textures, you can set the editor to mount (load) the pak files from the game by going to Edit (On the toolbar at the top)->Editor Preferences->Unofficial Editor->Train Sim World and in that menu there is a section for pak mounting. You'll need to include the path for to the game in the 'TSWGame Path' box and tick 'Mount Core'. [​IMG]
    Hope that helps to solve those errors, trainsimcz's YouTube video is probably the best tutorial for figuring out how to build a scenario.

    That's excellent news!

    There is one problem I have found today, a lot of the "track scenery tiles" in the new Peak Forest route will crash the editor to desktop when you try to load them. Even trying to load only one tile with nothing else loaded will CTD.

    I am assuming there is something new in this route's Track Scenery Tiles that the editor doesn't recognise that causes the CTD?

    Every other route I've tried seems to work fine.

    TSW Unofficial Editor v 0.3.1 - small update
    here is small update to the Unofficial Editor which will change the version to 0.3.1. Dont expect any main features to be added into the small updates. It will be mostly used for changes as the game got new features in already existing classes.

    So what is new in 0.3.1?

    - in TrainFormation and RVD added support for DLC requirement - used for scenario planner formations or even for normal formations. If you leave that empty then formation will work everywhere, if you add some DLC (name of plugin folder) then if some user will not have that plugin the formation will not show up in the menu. Its good option so your formation dont crash the game because of missing content.
    - in editor when you open the route you can now see OHLE
    - for better orientation in editor, there is update for Train Sim World menu ... there was before only Route Timetable. Now you can find there all important editors - included picture is showing how it look... there is even changes for icons so now they dont look the same but each of the class got their own icon. Now its very easy to see what is formation, what is RVD file, etc...

    For downloading that small update you dont have to download the whole editor. Small update require already installed Unofficial Editor v0.3. You just need to download updater ( http://www.trainsim.cz/?mod=article&showid=2675 ) and extract the updater into your Unofficial Editor TS2Prototype folder. After that just run updater.exe, it will show you that there is new version. Continue with updating. Once its done then you can run editor with those new features. Every other small updates will be released thru that updater, you will not have to download it again. Just run it sometimes (not every day :D) to check if there is new update... i will try keep you updated here :)

    Thanks very much for your help Will. That was my mistake, and what made it worse was that I was actually getting a prompt to do this each time I logged in to the Editor.

    So now I am moving on to trying to work out how to get .pak files into the editor. I have the Tutorial and, no doubt, will fathom it out some how. Expect to see me on here again soon.

    Today another update is released and editor number change to 0.3.2 (for update you just need to run that updater which you downloaded before). And what today update bring to the editor ? Very excited feature which a lot of users will like :)

    New features v0.3.2:
    - livery editor decals support

    Now you can create your own logo packs just from pictures (recomend to use files with transparent background). Here is small tutorial how it work:

    1. find some logos or some other graphics on the internet .. if they are jpg, tga, etc... they will work too (any format which you can import into the UE4). If you own Photoshop then even psd are working fine, But i recomend any format which support transparent background because image with other background will be imported with background.

    2.move logos into the Unofficial Editor and they will import (if they are in supported format) - or you can do right button click > Import, and there you find and choose your files to import. Easier is the first option :)

    3. go to the Train Sim World menu in editor and select that new decal option:

    4. select your imported picture in that texture (or you can just move your imported picture there), select logo or image in category and dont forget to type the name (category is for the livery editor where you will find your logos or images after).

    5. after that you cook that mod, pak it for the game (dont forget to include AssetRegistry.bin) and then you go to the livery editor where you can see your new logos (this step require that you already know how to create mods, etc...):

    6. select your livery in the game:

    As all that looks very nice and excited, there is one small problem. You will not see your preview logos (thumbnails) in those small icons in the menu. It can happened that you will see even some random pictures or just grey windows there but when you click on them you will still see your logo placed like a preview on that loco or wagon. And of course you cant setup your logo to be colored in the livery editor menu (that part where you can change color of white decals) as that option is only for shapes.

    If the track laying tool is released in the TSW unofficial editor, would I be able to use custom track created in Blender other than track used on existing routes?

    Track in TSW is made from some components and its generated in editor and in game from parts which you will link there. That file is callet Loft Descriptor. So you can provide your parts but it will generate final track. But before track laying tool is released there is still long journey. And work will now more slow down as Will is now working for DTG so he cant work on the editor anymore. Thats why there is those small updates to keep editor at least updated with some classes before another big release is released.

    Right now its mostly for all data assets stuff, logos, locos (you can create new loco but you will need to use existing simulation stuff as simugraph is not implemented yet). The same goes for route... you can start working on map but editor is missing track laying tool.. so right now you can create scenery and place tracks later .

    Yes im still working on that one but its going to be for TSW 2 because TSW 3 dont like those shaders, DTG did some changes for TSW 3.

    Its normal UE just with added support for opening and working with TSW stuff. So everything normal UE4 can do you can do it too.

    Will this editor allow you to change the brightness of the searchlight/headlights of the locomotives? It is impossible to wait for the headlights to be fixed from the dovetail ...

    Maybe what about try to read first page of this thread ? There is some tutorials how to make formation stuff. Or watch TSW Editor Premiere where is DTG creating formation (thats how i learned that).

    No, editor cant edit cooked BP files.But you can create child of the BP and then add your own camera position... that new BP needs to be linked with some other assets. Usually cameras are in RVV files so you will need to edit RVD and change your new RVV there.

    V 0.3.3 was just released with small udpates for TrainFormation, RailVehicleDefinition and RouteTimetableDefinition.
    For TrainFormation and RVD there is new value RequiredCabSignallingStandards which is another substitution category (not sure if they already use it but its part of the core .exe file)
    For RouteTimetableDefinition variable AutoRequestYardTransfers was moved from Service Instructions into the core timetable part so you will just setup that variable for the whole timetable and not for each service (default is set to true).

    To update your editor version to 0.3.3 just run the updater which you downloaded before.

    Tell me, what is JetWash? I also want to edit cockpit cameras, but I don't know how to do it. tell me how to change the position of the cameras in the cockpit?
