You and alot of others are wondering the same my good man. The royal appointment scenario with double heading would be superb on a route where you could get some speed going... Short answer : Because DTG
You can’t even make one yourself as the scenario planner on SEHS is very basic. You can’t even do a full run from Dartford to Faversham. It needs a BR diesel railtour too like on east coastway.
It would appear that whilst the SoS Jubilee layers on to other routes the Peak Forrest one doesn’t. It doesn’t appear on West Somerset for example. Seems fair and logical.
Fun fact: SEHS used to have a Diesel railtour, but it didn't get preserved into our preserved collection, because reasons...
I thought it may have had. Tbh there’s no reason why there can’t be a ‘generic’ railtour with any locomotive being able to sub-in on every route that it’s applicable.
The SoS Jubilee gives you the Railtours on SEHS. The Peak Forest Jubilee is exactly the same, so why are we not able to use the Peak Forest Jubilee for the Railtour?
Because the game sees them as two seperate items, rather than as one. So as such, I guess it's the same as TVL 101 subbing in on WCL, insted of the NTP (or vice versa i don't remember which way round it is).
A cynical person might be tempted to say That it is designed that way to encourage you to purchase SOS
I thought the whole point of the training centre was to prevent this phenomenon of duplicates of the same loco tied to specific DLC. There can’t be any logical reason for the PF Jubilee (of course there shouldn’t be a PF Jubilee, it should just be ‘the Jubilee’) not subbing on to SEHS other than to make SoS more attractive.
But as I said, the whole point of the training centre (we were told) was so that locos would no longer be tied to a route but to the Training Centre instead. If that worked as intended then there would be one Jubilee and once unlocked by purchasing a DLC that required it it should then automatically layer on to other routes as intended. Instead we’ve got another 2 examples of the same train, one which layers and one which doesn’t. One of the reasons this game is so massive is that the same assets are being shipped over and over again with each route instead of being held centrally. It’s bad now, what on earth is it going to be like in a few years? We’ll need 2TB drives just for this game alone at this rate.
No, you're confused. The point of the decoupling that the Training Centre allowed was that loco DLCs no longer needed a route DLC to run.
Because DTG invented a substitution system which cannot substitute a steam locomotive and its tender by a diesel locomotive without a tender, or vice versa.
I miss those Diesel Railtours on SEHS, Loved spawning at a station a few minutes before one was due in and seeing what the game spawned. Sometimes I'd just travel as a passenger and listen to the thrash lol.
