Performance On Tsw3 Pc-ssd And Video Card?

Discussion in 'TSW General Discussion' started by SD40Australia, May 20, 2023.

  1. Does an SSD reduce those tile stutters?

Also has anyone purchased a newer video card and noticed a difference in performance or graphic quality on TSW3???

My performance is satisfactory now (enjoyable even with the odd stutter etc which I don't mind instead of tearing), and I am wondering.

I have been interested in the AMD Radeon as it seems the performance is very good. Has anyone used one?

I would rather first hand experience instead of opinions.

But if read a lot of tech feel free to offer your educated view.

Generally yes, and depending on how it's set up, yes

Yes, inherently a better graphics card will have better performance than a lesser one

This depends the settings you use. If you are currently using lower settings to allow your current card to function more smoothly then you would be able to increase those settings and not get the slowdown on a better card

There are several caviats to this.
The SSD should be doing only what's needed for the game, so windows etc should be on another disk or SSD to get the best performance from the SSD TSW is on
If you have more than one montior the second monitor may take some performance from the GPU, so if you have an onboard (on CPU) GPU and this offboard GPU then assign the offboard to TSW and the onboard to everything else

Of course, all of this is reliant on the motherboard being best compatible with both components.
The MoBo I have has two SSD slots, one in line with the CPU and one in line with the SATA. I have windows on the SATA connections, and TSW on the CPU bus, allowing for faster transfers.

Unfortunately it won't remove stutters completely because UE has a built in issue, and TSW isn't optimised either as a game, nor are the DLC
