Cropped up in the MML Feedback thread, so may as well give it a space. May the football fans among... the forums users reveal themselves and laugh at your least favourite rivals, or a generally unlikable club. I'm going to take a punt and say Southampton will be relegated before this gets locked. Although, that's pushing it. Thank you, or, if you support Liverpool, a similar sounding term with an opposite meaning
I would throw all sorts of things out but (can't remember if I said this in MML) being a Forest fan we aren't safe yet so I'll hold off a bit. I have to give Southampton a bit of thanks because that win we had against them was definitely worth the money, something I haven't been able to say too often this season!
I'm having a lovely evening laughing at the abject misery of Queens Park FC's payed actors for fans. That said, still hurts to enjoy a Partick Thistle win. (8-3 to Partick on aggregate, btw)
That was a real shock, I know they've been a bit off form towards the end of the season and Posh have done really well under Ferguson (again) but 4-0!? Wow!
I'm an Everton fan too - hence the avatar, which is from the 1999 trim. Still enjoying the result from Monday!
Amazing scenes here as Notts County become the first club in Football history win a penalty shootout by a scoreline of 0-0!
I live 15 to 20 miles north of Peterborough so have been to a couple of games there when we have played them away and the stadium always seems so dead and there is more noise from the away fans than the home ones. They are going really have to muck it up now not to make it to Wembley at least so good on them I suppose. I did think that we (forest) were going to chuck that point away againd Chelsea buyt not a bad result really, especially away, though could have done with leeds losing.
Leeds getting a point against Newcastle does worry me a bit, especially as we play City tomorrow. We did take a surprising point at the Etihad earlier in the season (under Lampard, even!), and beat Arsenal when they seemed unstoppable, and of course utterly demolished BHA on Monday, so it's a good case of 'never say never'. That being said, my hope is at a minimum going into this fixture. Dyche, do the thing.
https://twitter.com/RaithRovers/status/1658517679987097606 Well if it isn't 3.3 million views for little old Raith Rovers... Also, hats off to Luton Town for reaching the playoff final. Shame we might be trading places with them for next year...
I don't think Luton will make it this year. I don't know why but I think next season they are going to get an automatic place. You heard it here first!
I've just looked at BBC sport and the POSH are playing right on the cliffs edge. I think they've just got a goal now but I reckon Wednesday could do it you know as they are only one behind on aggregate.
Glad I chose to watch the Sheff Wed V Posh game, had a feeling they could do it, the crowd were fantastic and helped them do it. We're going to have to be the same on the last home game v Bournemouth if we're needing a win to stay up.
I only ever scored one goal and that was in fifth grade. It was an own goal and my football skills only decreased since then.
Whilst I don't think we condone violence, it is absolutely hilarious that these wannabe hard men from the AZ Support were stopped from reaching the West Ham stands by two older men just throwing proper punches every time they got close enough, no sweat. https://twitter.com/fumanchu6666/st...y-west-ham-fan-trouble-az-alkmaar-semi-final/ Love the way the ones who get punched just fall back into their crowd. That being said; it's a disgrace that such an event ever happened, and has no place at football.
Most likely they're veterans! Started watching their football when you had to be hard! Qudos to the giant of a bloke, gave everyone an absolute hiding and then going down into them after they ran, he'd had 3 Weetabix that day!!!
Think Big Sam will be feeling more confident now, West Ham are safe plus are in European final and Spurs are awful, if Leeds win both they are safe. Everton had an important equaliser, but its still 2 points dropped.
West Ham's form has improved in recent weeks and months - Leeds has done nothing of the sort. We've taken 5 points in our last few games (Leicester 2-2, Brighton 5-1 and Wolves 1-1) - worryingly, all on the road - and frankly I don't see Leeds getting anything out of WHU or Spurs. West Ham's eyes will be on the UECL and Spurs' are on securing the best position possible. They might be bottle merchants but realistically, they're more than a match for Leeds. Even if Bournemouth beat us last week, I have full faith Leeds will still slip beneath us and go down.
Meanwhile in Scotland; All but three promotions/relegations are now decided. This leaves the leagues for next season as follows: Premiership: Aberdeen (UEL or UECL) Celtic (UCL, 2022/23 Champions) Dundee Hearts (UEL or UECL) Hibernian (UEL or UECL) Livingston Motherwell (she's fine, thanks) Rangers (UCL) St. Mirren (UEL or UECL) St. Johnstone Kilmarnock Ross County/Partick Thistle Championship: Airdrie Arbroath Ayr United Dunfermline Athletic Greenock Morton Inverness Caley Thistle (Potential UEL) Queens Park Raith Rovers Partick Thistle/Dundee Utd/Ross County/Kilmarnock Dundee Utd/Ross County/Kilmarnock League One Nobody cares about this, but Hamilton got relegated into it and Annan/Stirling both got promoted from L2, at the expense of Clyde/Peterhead respectively. Albion Rovers got relegated from L2, with Spartans taking their places. Free Scottish Football updates for you all folks, can't say you aren't well-informed now! Cup Finals Scottish Cup: (P) Celtic v Inverness Caley Thistle (C) Scottish League Cup: (P) Celtic 2 - 1 Rangers (P) Trust Trophy: (C) Hamilton 1 - 0 Raith Rovers (C) European Spots 1st - UCL Group Stage - Celtic (Champions) 2nd - UCL Qualifiers - Rangers 3rd - UEL Qualifiers - Aberdeen 4th - UECL Qualifiers - Hearts Scottish Cup - Inverness Caledonian Thistle, or, if Celtic Win; Hibernian
Palace fan. Rubbish season all round and I'm just hoping by some miracle that Brighton don't get Europe
Oh you don’t know what I would give to see Leeds go down!!! The problem is I feel they have got much more fight than Everton and although I would love to see Leeds go down I honestly don’t that they will!!! Of course I could be and am hopefully wrong but who knows???
If they lose to WHU they're done for. Spurs might be Spurs but they're not that bad. WHU are flying high confidence wise off the back of the Conference League results (and are probably really geared up to go following the subsequent violence), so I think Leeds, who have looked very fragile all season, will prove to be just short of what's needed. I think Everton might pull it off against B'mouth next week. I darn well hope so, because we can't have the last season at the Grand Old Lady played out in the Championship.
Not that anyone will care but Carlisle had a good result against Bradford today in the League 2 playoffs. It looked a good crowd or at least the well overloaded 156 I took from Workington up to Carlisle suggested it was! It wasn't even standing room, more like a clip from Japan where they're literally pushing them into the train! I was standing against the driver's door enjoying the small breeze under the door until a young girl decided to deposit the contents of her stomach due to the heat. Cue suddenly space! Certainly one benefit of having no sense of smell is staying put whilst men literally fall over each other trying get away!
I'll tell you something, today is why I still buy tickets to go and watch Forest play in real life. It was a wonderful game and as usual in the City Ground a wonderful atmosphere especially now we've avoided the drop. I suppose it is now between Everton and Leeds as I think it is safe to say Southampton and Leicester are going down. Nice to know I'm not the Forest fan on here either!
I agree that in theory Leeds should be winning but in theory posh should have beat Sheffield but they didn’t. Football’s a funny old game and can go any way especially at this time of the season!!!
Thank f for that. Leeds losing Bamford totally changed that game and, providing he remains out for Spurs at Home, you'll imagine they'll fold to them again - no matter how bad the "mighty" Tottenham can be. Newcastle, do the thing tomorrow, please & thank you.
Let's hope my other club pull out a rare mighty performance and stun the geordies. You forgot to mention Albion Rovers finally getting rightfully punted out the SPFL and replaced by Spartans.
As a portsmouth fan seeing them get relegated make me happy - yes we are still lower then them, but at least we have a history. PUP PPU
Pleased that the Ev stayed up! 11th for us. LOVE season but we finished above Chelsea so at least that's something...
Yes nice to see our big rivals going down, this officially makes us the biggest team in the East Midlands now!
Don't want to be having another season like that, thought those days had gone in the 90's! It's not investment we need, it's a new ownership and board who know how to run a football club! Just look at the guys running Brentford & Brighton!
I was hearing chatter that these MSP Investor people were interested in getting a stake or at least a say in how the club was run, however now that we've stayed in the Premier League that other group might be back on the table. Moshiri is desperate for funding because he just doesn't want to finance the new stadium out of his pockets anymore (should've thought of that earlier). I wouldn't mind Qatar coming in if they fail to buy Man United...
I do think both forest and everton could have decent seasons next season as we both have good managers who I have always rated highly. Yes Dyche does play 'boring' foootball but I honestly think him and Cooper are two of the greatest managers teams in our situations could have.
It really depends (in our case) who we sign. Forest now have a decent core of a squad to build upon and I think they'll do just that and try and go for a comfortable mid-table spot. Luton and Sheffield United might end up easing the pressure on bottom-half sides, one would suspect. As for us, we desperately need a rebuild, with us using every penny of what we are allowed to spend effectively. We need a goalscorer, someone like Richarlison, and covering Full-Backs. Get them and we'll be above the bottom spots next year, quite comfortably. Anything more and, well we've done a blinder. Financial Fair Play will be the killer (as always) next season for us, if anything. Realistically we have a decent first team playing squad but not much more. I'm surprised Mina was let go considering how well he has played in his few games this season for us, 2 goals in 6/7 games is the highest Goals to Games ratio for any of our players, I think. It's going to be an interesting summer, for everyone.
Yes, that is the side of things where we hold the upper hand because we do have a strong squad which has now had good chance to bond. Everton though, like we did last year, do need a bit of a rebuild but also can't just dump everyone, the thing here is that it is a very fine line. I do still think you'll have a half decent season though.
I actually wanted Cooper as our manager a couple of seasons back and your striker Johnson but you had won the playoff final and promoted so there was no chance of us getting them, there were rumours that Johnson wanted to come to us had you failed to get promotion. I don't think Dyche is the man to take us forward but if we can just get mid table mediocrity for now, I'd take that, can't be doing with these relegation battles.
Yes Cooper is always someone I've fancied to have a good crack at job with us and a good crack he's had! I think if we hadn't got promotion we would have lost quite a few players and would be really stuggling in the Championship now because they really advertised themselves in the brilliant cup run we had.
