Hello everyone today I will be suggesting an expansion to Glasgow Central for the Edinburgh - Glasgow line. The stops are: Stops: Glasgow Central, Carmyle Shotts, Benhar Jn, Livingston South, Slateford Haymarket (Already In Game), Edinburgh (Already In Game). Rolling Stock: SR Class 380 (0 and 1 type), SR Class 385 (0 and 1 type), SR Class 43 "Inter7City", CS Class 92 (+ Caledonian Sleeper Stock), GBRf Class 73/9 (Caledonian Sleeper), SR Class 320, SR Class 334. Layers Of Rolling Stock: SR Class 158, LumO Class 803/0, Colas Rail Class 56, SR Class 170/4, (Didn't realise how many locos ran this route besides the 43 and 385!)
Not the most interesting route you'll ever see, and certainly doesn't fit EDN well, considering it's a seperate route. The 380 is a rare sight on the Shotts line these days, and is better suited for another route down the line (pun not intended). And, realistically, you're not going to get any more than one of those trains listed (excluding the 385, as we already have it, of course)
I do see your point but tbh I feel like this extension with the amount of locos would be a bit too much for DTG to handle although they did make a 50 miles 1.5k (about) services so anything is possible. Even the impossible.
I would prefer, if an extension to this route ever came, to see it go up to Alloa and Dunblane, rather than another EDN to GQS route. Seeing as we have those services anyway, would be nice to run those end to end.
I’d agree with this one….although it would be nice if Rivet fixed the remaining issues of the current route first.
They terminate at Croy (for Alloa) and Polmont (for Dunblane) in game. The only 'full' services are those between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh, as well as depot runs.
They do, Alloa is the end of the line anyway. And Dunblane is the furthest north an electric traction only unit can go, as yet. The highland main line/ West Highland Line and others aren't electified yet.
