    Hello all,

just purchased the BR101 and have a question:

I observe a rather pronounced slipping/skidding during acceleration, even with power around just 55% and a slightly upsloped track ahead ( around +0,2% ) with a 300m train.

    Is that realistic?

My understanding regarding the power lever is that it selects a power output and then the computer arranges the actual power application in order to avoid a skid/slip situation?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Best regards,

    Tom

It's realistic and it's called superslip. It's not actual wheelslipping going on. Maik Goltz will have a better explanation.

    Thank you very much indeed.

One last question: what is the engine-driver supposed/required to do as soon as superslip occurs? Is the a requirement to reduce power or can he just continue, as the computer will do it‘s magic in the background?

    Best regards,

    Tom

Well, actually he wouldn't need to take any action as it regulates itself and is basically just the full maximum tractive effort. On the other hand, its a loud screeching noise neither the passengers or the drivers like, so in reality you probably never apply that much power that it goes into that mode.
