I just finished journey mode on this route now, with all gold. First my feedback, after one issue that almost made me give up on journey mode.
This expansion is cute, in every way. Cute houses, nice track, lot of trees, small and medium tunnels, and lot of cute little details, truly feel you are in Switzerland on a nice mountain trip, and sometimes you forget the speed and everything and just enjoy the trip from Chur to Arosa. But when you go opposite way, from Arosa to Chur, things getting interesting for you 6% slope, you need to use your best skills to don't overspeed anywhere on the track. Just one second late, and you in the yellow speed, and if you forget to speed down for 3-5 seconds, you easily go in the red zone. Yet, it's not too hard, because it seems the braking system fixed, i was able to keep speeds with only the electric/magnetic brake between 55-65%, no need to use vacuum brakes or loco brakes. You can use vacuum brake if slope getting higher suddenly, or if you want to stop the train. It's a challenging experience, especially in snow, but it's very satisfying see the Chur station finally and see, you did it. Chur, there is a unique part in the town, we use the train on the streets in a tram mode. It is a very interesting thing. The signaling and warning system is permanently on, you can't turn off, so be ready to use the "b" button tap whenever you get warnings, and better to slow down. The graphics, it's hard to talk, because for me is not the biggest thing how million polygons is used. But I'm pretty sure, the route looks better in snow. The timetables perfect, you can keep it under control, i was late from a station 2 times only, with 5 mins late because I was at first chapter too slow to startup the train. What I missing in this route I'd like to get patch for it? First I'd like a heating system. Poor train driver and the passengers getting cold. Second, there is no ambient sounds. No, seriously, no birds, no people, no cars or any sounds outside of the train. I checked lot of places, only buses have sounds. Third, there is no tunnel "blinding" effects, i really missing that from "Wurzburg" route. It would give a nice immersion for the expansion. Fourth, no mirrors. This route truly missing it, i mean Xbox series X must be enough for the mirrors reflection. Maybe series S too, there is Nintendo switch sims that have mirrors, and not dying from framerate drops. Series S is much stronger.

Now, the thing that made me almost give up on the journey mode. It's Chapter 3. I need to add, i don't understand, why we didn't got one route one turnaround mission, instead dropping turnarounds in one chapter. So the last Turnaround mission, Chur. You start the train at 19:05 if i remember right. You need to pick up some cars at the front, and go to the place where you can decouple the passenger cars at the back. But when you reach the checkpoint, you see the marker is behind a red light, not front of it. You can't do anything, you always end the mission with failure. After 10-12 try, i noticed there is a train down the track. Ran to it, went in, and surprise, that train occupy your track, and leaves only at 21:55. I put my game on AFK mode, (truly away from console it's Xbox), and came back when game show it's 21:55. The train go away toward Arosa, and you can finish the mission without getting more red lights.

My rating? Even with the things i mentioned, the route is definitely worth to play, if you want to relax, just start a trip from Chur, and if you want challenge, go from Arosa to Chur. I had a nice time with this journey, recommend everyone to play it. Just don't forget the AFK mission need waiting at least 2,5h (until 21:55) when you get to the red light. Have a nice trip!

Yeah Ive came up to that turnaround Chur service, not waiting 2 1/2 hours for the train to leave the block. Its been logged as a bug. I'll move on but it needs fixing not silly workarounds

Nice write up. Not a big journey guy myself but I am an Arosalinie enjoyer from time to time. Downhill is fun.

Last time I try it I Bounced off from the car trying to attach, the speed control is broken, loco accelerate to fast, even at 0,5 notch it is impossible to gently approach the car.

Try to start at 0,5 and turn itt off, the train will go slowly to 0, if you still fast when you close to car, push the vacuum brake, i never had problems doing that. Also, don't change the compressor or traction strength from weak to strong, or you really speed up fast.

Luckily the developers confirmed they working on patch in May for Arosalinie, i think it will be released on June then.
Until then, it's still better than nothing, but of course, needs a fix.

Nicely summed up. I´m one of those who enjoy Arosalinie everynowandthen despite its shortcomings. However, in-the-know people question even the brake physics. And that would also make the downhill procedures a product of fantasy. A pity, really! :|

It was announced here on the forum, the devs mostly working on post release patches for the next weeks, and was Arosalinie mentioned too in there. I'm not a dev, I'm a player too. But i must say, at least the devs communicate with players, gives news, updates etc, not like Train Life devs, they did "hit and run" with their game on Nintendo. Nothing got fixed till today, and that poor one is unplayable, truly. It's sad, because had Orient Express too. So honestly, I'm glad DTG is not them. They read feedbacks from time to time, and it will help them if we tell where is issues, what we missing, while also saying what we loved and liked. It's my personal view, and we all have our own, and we are free to say it, please don't misunderstand my talk. The only thing i can do is giving feedback and point out things for them. I play now the Clinchfield expansion journey mode, and I will point out the things that needs fast fix in that too. But my first priority to show things, is bugs that makes the expansion journey unplayable, broken, or even impossible to complete.

I see. Well I'm not a professional Train Sim fan, this is why I enjoy more the TSW. While i understand your point of view, at the same time if I thinking about, what I'd do if this line had a very advanced braking system, I'm not sure I enjoyed it the same way, getting frustrated by changing up brakes wrong time for example. Yes i know, I'm a casual sim lover (not arcade tho), but truly, this is why I play on Xbox. I think the solution would be making 2 type of settings, casual and realistic in the game. Maybe for TSW4, because i read somewhere on forum it's impossible to implement into TSW3, because needs very big amount of works.

Well, absolutely! I don´t want to be the party-pooper here, just wanted to make you aware. By all means, enjoy the route as is. I know I will everynowandthen. :)

But to avoid frustration: You might want to lower your expectations when it comes to updates and fixes, be it from Rivet or DTG. Their track record for this subject is ............... errmm quite economical.
