Oh! We're getting these on these forums now too, nice. Well, for starters, it is unsurprisingly a German driving cab of some kind. Relatively new, too. EDIT: Note the date on the screen thingy. I bet that's when the proper announcement is. EDIT2: Nice grass. Looks very detailed, that's a very good sign.
Next DE route. Certainly isn't steam. I like the grass and the rails; they look more detailed and better (rust) than some others. It's a unit that is equipped for passenger service; notice the door open/close switch.
People are already speculating that it's a BR182 / Taurus, which would fit with the whole Rostock thing in the files. See the baseless speculation thread for more on this... looks like the mentions in the files are accurate.
As can be seen here the teaser is definitely of a 4th generation doppelstockwagen cab, the same as in Ruhr Sieg Nord, so this could be one of two things (maybe both): A new German route featuring the 4th Generation Doppelstockwagen Working Destination displays. The question marks on the screen could indicate that this is a destination display update Last year, Dovetail Games tweeted these: https://twitter.com/railsimulator/status/958733131481272320 https://twitter.com/railsimulator/status/958329905225314305 https://twitter.com/railsimulator/status/957991984433713152 In the first tweet is shown a DB BR 112, which could be featured as a passenger locomotive in a new route with the Doppelstockwagen. The second tweet shows a DB BR 52, which would not work with the Doppelstockwagen as it is a steam locomotive, so won't be in the new dlc. The third tweet shows a DB BR 182, which could haul both passenger and freight services along with a DB BR 442 which could be suitable if this is a commuter route. As already mentioned, there is reference to a 'Rostock' route in the game files. The DB BR 112, 182 and 442 would all be suitable for a route in the Rostock area.
I hope we actually get a unique train in this route. I don't want TSW to fall into the fate of TS1 where the same trains are bundled with different routes with nothing new added.
In an e-mail they sent earlier this evening, they adressed that it will be a new route. So I will put my money on the Rostock area then. DB BR 122 would be absolutely great, hauling some Doppelstock's in Rostock... I guess we will have to wait and see, if the date that is teased in the display is correct, it is 10 days to go....
Ah, looked up the Taurus cab a d it looks nothing like that. No idea why people were saying that elsewhere, then. In my defense, I'm not completely familiar with German cabs, and I guess I haven't driven the doppelstock in RSN a lot lately. Still holding to the Rostock idea, though. Game files don't lie! Except when they do... but we'll see!
Vell eet defeeneetlee luuks ze gehmahnz handiverk Excited! I hope theres some oddball loco(s). I like the weird stuff
Just let it finally be something for people who supported you since day 1. Still feels trash to have gone through the base game-, RT-, GWE- and New York beta and sit at the end of the bargain with stuff like the better signalling, the trees at autumn or the PZB
TrainSim-Dmitri you need to also post this type of info in the console forums. I only stumbled on it here by chance
its better if they put it on pc first so the pc players can say what they think and DONT DOWNVOTE ME FOR SAYING THIS
That building in the background is not in Rostock (at least according to Google Earth). Anyone want to guess that?
In my opinion, for now it's "just" good, but once the editor will be released and 3rd party content starts coming in, TSW will become THE single best train sim you can get.
I think this is a RSN update and the new german route with update. You can see different types of builds in germany.
Sort of yes. From what i've seen on google, the rostock area has BR 442's, which are similar to the the ones from RT, and also double-decker passenger services, which could be ported over from RSN.
My personal guess: Route: Rostock - Bad Kleinen Rolling Stock: - Talent 2 (mostly reused from RT, bit slightly different) - Taurus - Doppelstock (coach and cab car) - Assorted freight stock (or they could do what they did last time and make that a DLC) I still would love more things like the YN3 GP38-2 from CSX:HH being drivable in NEC... maybe the Class 185 could be used for freight on this route and the 143 for passenger IF you own RSN.
Yes... that's exactly what I said. I meant I wanted more examples of locomotives from one route being drivable on others.
I still live in hope that they'll fix the signalling on RT. It's a shame because no doubt people at DTG put a lot of effort into creating it and now it's basically abandoned due a single large bug. I also think it's pretty disgraceful that DTG admit there's a game breaking bug which they have no intention of fixing and yet they still sell RT and specifically mention the signalling as a selling point. What they should do is release a patch for RT alongside this latest DLC which includes fixes for the PZB and adds in some service mode trains using stock from RSN and this new DLC, even if they're mostly AI services, as one of the issues with RT is the lack of interesting AI. If DTG were to do this they'd go up in my estimations. I won't hold my breath though!
Although this gets slightly off-topic, this isn't anything new. DTG has had a history of releasing content with major bugs, and never fixing them, but still mentioning the parts that the bugs break as features. It's been well noted by the community countless times. I would not expect any major improvements to come to HH, NEC, RT, or GWR. The ROI on improving those routes and associated content isn't there. The sad reality of this game is it will be haunted by similar issues that still haunt TS20xx, and that's content that is broken, still sold, and will never be fixed.
It shouldn’t have been released then in the first place but I know this is beyond control of the developers. As per, management forcing dates and timelines regardless of the state of the DLC.
I find it... interesting... that TrainSim-Dmitri has liked so many of these speculation posts... hmm. Some of the posts he has liked suggest a new route around Rostock with a BR182 and/or* Talent 2, working destination things, and possible overlap of locos from RSN being drivable on this route. Whether he is just encouraging speculation or hinting at these guesses being correct remains to be seen... likely until the date on the screen. *IMHO I'm no longer sure whether both the BR182/Doppelstock and BR442 would work well together, doing some research shows that the S-bahn is kinda short if you just do one line, and if you do the whole S-bahn network than Doppelstock doesn't make sense
If they are both included in the route, i don't think the dostos would stop at every single stop like an s-bahn would, kind of like the hst and the turbos on GWE.
Yeah, but I can't think of a good, long enough route where it would make sense to drive both across the whole route. IDK, though, it might work.
What do I think? Lots of guess! It is time to announce the new route. For these reasons I think it will be a fantastic route, for the time that they are taking!
