My guess is the Aschaffenberg-Würzburg line, also known as Main-Spessart-Bahn. As mentioned it stretches just around 90 kilometres.

The line is primarily served by hourly RegionalExpress services, which were previously served by locomotive-powered push-pull double decker coaches. They were in 2018 mostly replaced by the Bombardier Twindexx Vario, which are 3-4 car self-powered double decker consists.
Additionally to this, the line is served between Würzburg and Gemünden by RegionalBahn services formed of BR 440 trains, calling at stops that the RE skips. This part of the line is in rush hour supported by additional RB services.

That is some info about the different traffic the line is represented by, and again this is just speculation based on the 'evidence' as to whether this is the line or not.

Nah, they look like 4th gen coaches to me. Newer 5th gen TWINDEXX EMU's do run on this line, but they look like they have a different window configuration. Also, they were introduced in 2018, and this route is before 2017.

I say it's before 2017 because, as Tomas9970 noted, the picture looks exactly like Heigenbrucken station before 2017, when the mountain pass part of the route was replaced with a series of tunnels. At minimum, this means this route has to be at least part of the Main-Spessart-Bahn, but doing the whole thing makes sense because it's the right length.

So, right now, we can assume the route comes with:
    • DB BR 146 (new)
      • 4th gen Doppelstock coach (reused-ish + PIS)
      • 4th gen Doppelstock cab car (reused-ish + PIS)
    • ??? Freight loco (there has to be one, otherwise there would be no freight wagons)
      • Shimmins-U (reused)
Obviously, there will probably be more than that, but that's all we know for now.

I saw something on Discord where they were comparing vents on the RSN Dostos to the ones in the screenshots. They aren’t the same.

Interesting... well, they still look like the same generation, so perhaps they just updated the model while they were at the PIS system. This wouldn't be the first time they rebuilt a piece of TSW rolling stock to make it more realistic, the class 47 on NTP is also different.

I know nothing about German coaches, though, so it's entirely possible that different cars of a single generation have different details, too.

...ok, so these vent differences exist in real life as well, apparently. It looks like the rightmost coaches are what we have in RSN, and the leftmost coaches in this new route. I wonder why? These coaches do appear to be the same generation, though...

The 47 changes are to make it an “older version” I believe.

It wasn't that, really- it had new sounds, which has nothing to do with time period, and the preserved WSR version is technically earlier, with BR green instead of blue and headcode things.

Yeah, the sounds. I own both, the difference is more than just changes for the period.

Anyway, that isn't the DLC in question here.

Perhaps I'm being blind, but I don't see any differences between the coaches in the screenshot and the coaches on RSN. They look like the same DBpza/DBpbzfa we already have. Which vents are people refering to?

I think the ones on the top of the carriage, between the top row of windows and the outside of the car. On the rear three there is a large vent only, on the front three there is a smaller outer vent

Yes, the one below the destination display on the side. The dostos in RSN don't have vents there at all and the cab car has it in a different position (it also has the yellow first class stripe).

Different window style too. On the bottom image it looks like there are a few openable windows whereas the ones on the top image are completely sealed.

I don't believe this is a bait just to grab attention here, the community wouldn't be pleased with it and the fallout wouldn't be good.

They wouldn't have done this if some sort of PIS wasn't going to be involved in this new route.

This is just another route, they hint at these every time. Nothing new there. They're not hiding much anyway, there isn't much room for that.

From what they’re teasing, one of the ‘main’ and ‘new’ features of this upcoming route/train seem to be pointing to a functional PIS.

Let’s see what teaser they give us today.

I am very interested in how you did this :P (technically)

Please tell me per private messages :D

I am very pleased that we'll be having dostos again.
I hope DTG did it well.

    Cheers,
    Prof

Remember, the Class 33 and Class 101 had basically working analog versions of this. An electronic one doesn't seem that far-fetched to me.

I do not understand what makes you think that this is not a real announcement that it is bait. Anything they have announced in the threads have always been released. This is the real thing it is the third of the three routes they were working on last year that Matt let out by saying that there were three routes being made.

Private conversation does not allow me to post pictures so I'll explain it here instead.

I basically just used Gimp and it's Handle transform tool. I placed it's point to the edges of the sign like this.
    Snímek obrazovky (65).png
Then it's just a matter of moving the points to form a rectangle (cursor position displayed in bottom left corner is very helpful). I have moved the left ones so that the right part is not getting upscaled.
    Snímek obrazovky (66).png
Now the image is stretched so you need to move the two points on the right side of the sign to the right until it looks reasonable.
    Snímek obrazovky (70).png
Now make sure that your clipping setting is set to clip and press Enter to apply. You can then crop it and do whatever you want with it.

Pretty sure the TRAXX is self-powered depending on the version, at least DB Regio ones are. So I'd like to know where you get that from because there's a locomotive in that picture

I think you're thinking of TWINDEXX. TRAXX is a family of locomotives including the BR 146 shown in this picture.

TRAXX is a family of locomotives that the BR 146 is from, not the coaches.

No, BR 185 doesn't do passenger services. The BR 146 has the exact same roof and does do passenger services. I pointed this exact thing out on the 1st page of this thread.
